Been waiting for this… after seeing them showcase at Sea Otter, I’m intrigued, I think this is the way to go… people are tired of the big brands, plus you getting something interesting and unique vs a click drop and ride bike. Custom is becoming a real thing now days, so many boutiques doing amazing stuff. A lot of talented folks doing it for the love and passion of Biking.
Super Video, very interesting story. Recently ordered a Colnago, but there will be a new Gravel in one year, will have a look at these frames, just wonderful.❤
I've got an idea I'd be willing to sell to this guy. An anual subscription where you send your custom bike back once a year, for a respray, of the accent colour. On a more serious note, I love this guy's ethos. If I were in the market for an expensive bike, custom would be my first port of call.
Beautiful looking frames and interesting process. Its entirely personal aesthetic preference, but I’m not into the stem and seat tube having same colour as frame but it certainly speaks bespoke and custom.
Very good/ interesting video Dave👍🏻 ! But how about the rear and chain stays? Do they make them , or buy them"raw"(something i imagine is hard to do since they are tapered!) ?
interesting to see that the bottom bracket area isn't as massive as most mainstream manufacturers build their CF frames. I wonder what the engineering/design philosophy is behind that decision.
There frames are not really lightweight If you want stiffness while being light you go big bb area There production method does not allow really light frames so it seems they didn’t pushed it to much
@@westendshopemployees2785 I did not wrote heavy I wrote really light This frame is not well designed from a lightweight design standpoint. For Road frames the main concern is stiffness (not strength) and stiffness in the bb area is determined by material and geometry. The geometry has a much bigger influence (google second moment of area) while not adding to much weight. That’s why road bikes need fat bb areas (it’s there to be stiff without needing to much material which would make things heavy).
If say they don’t say total cost as paint and design would have a big impact. I would be that if contacted they would provide a price range that a bike would land in. I just got a custom steel bike and after 100 odd emails I can see how they wouldn’t want to nail down a price.
@@AidanDuff-ut9rm Cheers Aidan. I wasn't implying anything dodgy on your part, just the uncertainty of knowing what the final cost was likely to be. Seems like a good price for a totally custom solution if one were in the market for that. If I had that sort of dosh to lay out on a bike I would certainly be considering one. Love the round tube "traditional" look.
with composites you already worry about the resin failing you, now these goofs want to glue carbon tubes together like if its metal. these goofs are oceangate of the bike world.

Excellent episode. Thanks for sharing that such beautiful crafts and people exist

That EVH paintjob tho...
Bike art.
I love the Van Halen paint job on those forks & frame 😍🤟🏻😎👍🏻 0:10 & 2:44

Nice idea! In fact, on reflection, I'm kinda surprised it's not been done before.
Cheers
The same process of manufacture used by a small band of Italian builders.
Refreshing!

@@harrie205 Actually their lightiest frame has tipped the scales at 650, or a bit less, grams (1.433 lbs.) No to heavy I would think.

Awesome! 👍😎
Can they make a custom fixed gear?
Its a masterpiece
Very interesting. Just been to the website and they specify the deposit at £3250 but no total cost that I could find. That seems a bit iffy.

Our Bad, Price is £6,500. its a 50% deposit. Custom Geo & Paint included in that.

I have a particular set of skills. I will look for you. I will find you. I will build you a bespoke bike.
850g is pretty good for something not "lightweight".
Beautiful frames. If only I’d the pennies. Although I’d be thinking - but that mainstream bike is faster and more aero….
"Sustainable way"? YOURE BUILDING CARBON FIBRE BIKES!
#sensordust
Glued like a Festka , not sure whi copied who ???

Its made by Time.
Time frames are not made like this.
Theyre building bikes as if they were metal frames. GIVE ME THE MONOCOQUE
Monocoque is expensive for small company. It also can't be custom made.
That is a monocoque frame
