- Dunlop Manufacturing presents the MXR Slash Octave Fuzz. Developed by Slash and the MXR Innovations engineering team over the years for his own personal rig, this extremely unique and multi-faceted pedal is now available to the public.
This 100% analog stompbox essentially features three effects in one that can all be used on their own or all together at the same time for an over the top barrage of raw and searing fuzzed-out tones.
First, there is a customized "70's Shag" fuzz circuit complete with tone, volume, and fuzz amount controls. Second is a separate Sub Octave circuit you are able to blend in to taste. Lastly is a separate, vintage-voiced psychedelic Octave Up Fuzz circuit, again with its own mix knob control. In additon, "under the hood" there are internal Gain and Tone pots that allow the user to shape the Octave Up Fuzz circuit.
Emblazoned with custom Slash graphics, the Slash Octave Fuzz features all analog circuitry, true hardwire bypass and comes in a heavy duty housing with durable jacks and switches.

for all you saying "it sounds horrible" its supposed to, a fuzz is made to fuck up your sound!!!
+Kalen Baker I know right? They should go and listen to the crayon
I feel like Jack White should try one of these on a new album!
For a man who prized himself being a simple guitar to amp guy. Slash has amassed quite a few signature pedals!
Rig run down watch, you must.
you can get a nice hendrix sound as well as a Page sound like from the first album. Yes the octave can be turned fully on, off, or anywhere in between with a knob
The nastiest, craziest, most out of control fuzz. It's incredible
Hahaha nope
Jack White's TMR Bumble Buzz
luchadorito I'd say fuzz factory
+Matthew Gross (One Way Ticket) Check out the Rainger FX Dr Freakenstein Fuzz, its absolutely insane!
I own this pedal, the amp, settings, and guitar combination you use affects it alot, just like any other pedal ...but overall its a great sounding, versatile and affordable pedal...if youre looking for a fuzz, octave or any combo in between, this is the one.
I have this one and it does more than the video tells.
Kenny Nordieker Can you get a clean octave up without any fuzz?
@@garrettnorthrup yes you can use the Octave down the Octave up and the Fuzz all separately from each other.
once again, u guyz nailed it-thank you 4 ur "no nonsense" vids!!!!
I really like the fact that it's analog, which gives it a more vintage sound too!
So now Slash has a signature wah and fuzz octave. Awesome
i just bought this pedal and while it is crude, its really fun to plat with and no other pedal sounds like it
Dat sub octave though
this pedal is a Tone for a song in the Rock Genre, one song in particular, Jimmy Page's solo in "Fool in the Rain" is where I first heart it , circa 1980. It sounds weird at first but once warmed up to this sound you can rock the house.
Nah man that tune is MXR blue box, jimmy page even said in an interview that fool in the rain solo were using mxr blue box
perhaps not for everybody, but could see it being kind of useful for some of my crazy 12-tone, Primus-esque scale solos...definitely nice to see some off the wall analog stuff though.
Bass playing mosquitos really dig this sound.
I use this in front of a Slash SC95 Wah. Great combi. The sub into fuzz is really awesome.
So.. it's only a sub octave pedal even though there is a "octave up" knob? Is that it? Sorry if it's a dumb question.
wow, with both circuits on sounds like Jon Lord Hammond AWESOmE!!!!!!
His Velvet Revolver rig had an Octavia in the rack.
Yeah, he and Myles Kennedy did a whole album together. What I've heard sounds pretty good.
paradise city solo
Why Does Slash feel the need to put this out? When did he ever use either effect?
In the description it says "is now available". Where?
Couldn't agree with you more, but I know for a fact that in some of his songs in his new Apocalyptic Love album, Slash DID use this pedal.
It really depends on who makes it, and what type of fuzz it is. It seems to be a real easy thing to mess up though.
He did use it...on his latest solo records it was on his pedalboard......
When in the hell would Slash ever use a fuzz pedal ? His tone is already solid with just his JCM 800 model, his wahs and off course his Les Paul
Check his gear rundown. He uses one :)
@@MrLolzieboy sometimes
IT'S BACK, BAYBEE.
I just read a recent interview with him and he said he made the pedal with dunlop for his new album "apocalyptic love" that and he had a mxr blue box on his board for a long while
hello. can I get the sound of Jimmy Page, Jumi endrix and John Frusciante from this pedal??? and can i use only the fuzz without the octaves??? thanks :)
Sounds fucking rad
Thanks for answering. And on Guitar Center it says that the item is sold out or no longer available. What the hell? It's listed at 130$.. good price.
Would be good for playing some Hendrix!
EvilMP5 yes!
No, not this fuzz. FuzzFace Hendrix or Gybsy are the best. This one is interresting but not for Hendrix ´s style
When has Slash ever used an octave OR fuzz pedal? Only fuzz tone I can think off is one track off VR's Libertad album that they hardly ever played live anyway. I don't understand why this exists..
Paradise City second solo.
He used (I believe) an MXR Blue Box for the first solo in Paradise City
It just has hisbdesign and name to sell
Cause slash wanted an octave fuzz pedal, seems pretty obvious
Maybe whining about it will make a difference.
Nice pedal. I love the fuzzy goodness
But, where does slash use this pedal? I mean it's not like a slash stuff.
some songs with Myles kennedy and the conspiritors
José Feld oh ok thanks
Demaglia Paradise City features octave fuzz too...
Also in a solo section in Paradise City
It sounds pretty good.
Love that tone
Amazing pedal, can't wait to check it out!
Does anyone have a suggestion for what the settings on this MXR Slash Octave Fuzz should be for the November Rain (Main) Solo?
lol
This pedal doesn't really sounds like slash tho
Schutz Staffel It’s only for a few solos like the one in November Rain and Paradise City. I’ve tinkered with it to get the sound close. Also great to use on Hendrix riffs.
It sound majestic :D
This sounds ******* good...
could it do fuzz and ocatve seperately if i wanted?
Bad Motivator yes!
I just wish he'd have done a full drive example with everything set high to hear how saturated it can really be.
like the new pedal, love the new videos.
when did slash ever use this?
Sounds good but the fuzz may not be as insane as the Zvex Fuzz Factory. The octave below with fuzz may piss off any bass player so maybe stick to higher notes. I was expecting the octave up to be more like an an octavio or octafuzz like Hendrix.
Who cares if it pisses off the bass player? That sub is so good, puts some balls behind the sound.
What's the difference between this one and the Submachine fuzz?
with the Slash fuzz, you cannot use the fuzz by itself, it's tied to the sub octave (you have to push in the "Sub Into Fuzz" button in order to have fuzz, otherwise you just get a clean sub octave.
at least, the sub machine does not have a knob for control octave up , you just active it with the footswitch .
Alejandro Rivera The submachine doesn't clean up as well as the slash fuzz in the octaves, but it also gets a bit dirtier than slash's.
Is this a limited run?
Could I use this instead of a POG?
i belived he used a setup with this pedal in some snakepit songs i think one was called California i'm not intierly sure i just remembering listening to some snakepit and hearing a fuzz octave kind of thing
One very positive thing about this "advertisement" is that they actually start and end with only using the octave fuzz / bypass. I hate those ads where it starts with a song that doesn't use the product. Makes it less cool.
How much
use this with a drop d tuned guitar, on a peavey 6505+, badass as shit :)
That's the plan! Drop D, Cobalt Strings, EMG pickups into a Dual Rectifier. It's gonna be madness!
I don't exactly care whether Slash used it or not... As long as it sounds good then its okay for me :)
This sounds amazing!
On his new record.
slash always rules!!!!
I want to get it, and paint it a nice glossy white, and repaint the octave fuzz onto it.
He also used something somewhat like this pedal on the solo to paradise city
this would sound dope playing cky songs
coolest fuzz ever!!
I just stumbled across this video and I don't ever remember Slash using this lmao
he uses it on paradise city 1st solo
He uses it on the solos of paradise city
@@frushhhh_ 1st solo? I've never heard it. Probably a super subtle thing.
slash used a octavian that is no longer made i think they tryed to recreate it with this
Also a nice guitar!
Love it
Deep valley !!!! 😎🎼🎼😎 !!!!!!!
I don't usually use octave or fuzz pedals, but if i do, this is the one i'd want.
who cares if he uses it or not it's awesome i want one
Esmeulon - Gostei ☠️🔥😈 🔥
.
Bass version please!
@Guitar8870 Ftw!!!!!!
Love the true bypasss tone. :) Horrid when engaged. :(
Kind of a cool pedal, aren't many affordable pedals that do regular fuzz, and octave up and down, good functionality. But too scooped to be useful for the most part.
nice
maybe in Paradise City middle solo, altough he rocorded both octave parts seperately
It's both ;)
I concur.
i knew slash was using an octave (boss super octave...the brown thing) for heavy parts but i didnt know he used fuzz....
not too impressed. the slash wah is great, but this does not represent slash. When does he used sub octaves???? I also dislike having to press buttons with your finger, its supposed to be a pedal for your feet!
i love slash --> love dunlop --> love octave pedals --> love fuzz -----> why the fuck doesn't this sound any good?? Defies all logic
Could be the guy playing it? Looks like it could be cool...
Maybe some surprises on the new album ;)
Stay fuzzy my friends.
I like it but it needs dry octave control, for when I just want sub octave
pretty sure that if you turn the knob all the way to the right its just sub
Why not Stratocaster?:D
I want!
wow, 'ANOTHER' Octave fuzz...hooray...
This friggin' dude can play. Shit.
First I wait for the price then I will think if I buy it :D
I personally don't like slash, but this pedal's a fuckin beast!!
ME GUSTA
Plugs his guitar in a DSL and then turns on a JCM800... It will sound awesome. Maybe switch on the tuner to make it even better :)
2-channel JCM800s exist. Probably a 2205 or later.
Wow
After listening to the demos off his new f=record where he was supposed to have used this pedal, I now have hope. Also he used an early version of this pedal when he played stoke in 2011. I think this is a good pedal with a TERRIBLE demo.
Octave Fizz more like.
Am I the only one who is going to ask. When the fuck did Slash use this?
im with you on this.
You obviously know nothing about pedal circuitry then. The pedal is always true bypass. There isn't a mode that changes it from a digital circuit to an analog circuit. They were just pointing out in the video that the pedal has a true bypass switch circuit. Please go read up on the difference between digital and true bypass circuitry.
he did in two songs but I don't really hear it lol
Aww I thought that it was an octave UP pedal not octave Down :-( Still sounds good though
Octave up, Octave down and fuzz
