Out of the box I was disappointed with M.O.G.U.E.R.A. I'm not a fan of the rubber parts and I almost broke one of the cannons getting it out of the plastic tray. I think visually both figures look awesome. I will need to spend more time with M.O.G.U.E.R.A. finding the sweet spot between articulation and display options. Also, Thanks for reviewing these. I've been curious to see what other people thought of them.
Hey i just got my Spacegodzilla and i LOVE IT! Spacegodzilla is my favorite Kaiju of all time and omg i love this thing so much, I actually canceled my shf Spacegodzilla for this one, i had a hard time putting the tail on but i got it on pretty good 10/10
Sorry I keep coming back I’m just getting ready my space Godzilla coming this coming Monday I just odered him on pre ordered long long time I need a big good looking space Godzilla I have vinyl one don’t count lol
I think moguera got the worse deal. No flight stand, so his accessories for the individual version are basically useless. To be honest thats just bad. I don't think him being unpopular is an excuse as his articulation is way below average so at least you should give him SOMETHING. Im not even asking for superarticulation, but just average stuff, or at least some useful accessories he can be displayed with, unlike his flying stuff. If super7 is meant to be fun, like getting a toy as a kid, you should have some sort of playability, but idk if this Moguera has enough to give that feel compared to spaceG, or any of the other super7 figures except biollante
I am loving this head sculpt when compared to the SHMA. It has just that right proportional look I was wanting. If I hadn't pre-ordered the Hiya GMK, I'd be getting this Spacegodzilla almost for sure. The extras are really nice, too.
I think it's my Moguera bias, but the winner for this wave is Moguera to me. I dunno, the tail sculpt is a deal breaker for me personally, LOVE the crystal spine look tho. Absolutely gorgeous. Tho for the nails I kinda wish there's a little bit of drybrushing to dirtied it up a little. I don't really mind the rubbery skirt on Moguera, although I do dislike them. Since flexible material are more prone to get warped, especially for how long it'll ship here. Sometimes not even boiling water would help. But considering the alternative gonna cost more due to the dock that I won't use at all, and the older one is a unicorn, this is the one for me. Although I probably would still choose Super7 over SHMA since it's bigger and the winning edge of SHMA is meaningless on this case. Since it is the brick that is Moguera. So I rather have a toy feel anyway by getting the B E E G one. Kyle, if you're getting the ReAction Showa Moguera, do me a favor and take a shot with the two together. The ReAction could stay on the packaging. I just wanna see the two together . Those two gonna be my premier Super7 product
@@kaijucanuck4492 Thanks, man. You're the best . But yea, I'll probably just glue the friction piece on mine, or increase the friction using tissue and glue. I won't display my penguin flying anyway, so personally it doesn't bother me. But I do hope going forward they could have tabs or peg sorta connection
Space Godzilla coming with the crystals to emulate the crystal fortress is a huge boon. I'm glad they have a nice translucency to run light through them, I cam use them with the monsterarts even as they will look more imposing with his small size. I have the Spacegodzilla on order and I like the break down to adjustments made to get a bit more range with the tails, that an articulated jaws like everyone else will always be my takeaways but I am picking up the spacegodzilla. Moguera is a skip unfortunately, $110+ for that is not a great exchange. I also liked the format of the review, you're getting better in the flow of it and much more comfortable, the lightbox and turndial you introduced in the Muto review (could be mistaken) ads a lot the production value. Only complaint I will say is your lighting condition does not favour really dark characters like SpaceGodzilla, the figure looked a bit washed out but you mentioned that. Really dark characters have a learning to take pictures or film definitely from what I've seen regardless if you use a phone or some professional camera. I did enjoy the review and the breakdown overall.
This is a well done and fair review. I wanted to love this spacegodzilla so much, but these figures did not turn out well. The rubber parts will certainly be a problem in the future. The tail unfortunately does not look good. And the way his crotch part sticks out like that is inexcusable. Not sure how it could have turned out like that. And again the parts easily falling off moguera, it’s very poorly designed . I’ve really wanted to root for this company for years, the team seems really nice and it’s obvious they wanna make great stuff, but I don’t think anyone could honestly argue that the quality of their figures matches the price. This solidifies for me that I’ll be sticking to Hiya, way higher quality and a lower price
I've come to appreciate that these things are path-independent. That is to say, for most people it does not matter *how* we get to where these products are, only that we *did* get to where these products are. These were designed at the same time as the first wave, and you can definitely feel that. While this wave might be an off-ramp for some folks, I'm hoping that future figures will improve to a point where people enjoy what comes at the price point.
The spacegodzilla isnt bad in person 🗣 but its gonna be the only super 7 figure i get minus one doesnt look great hiya is gonna be my go to godzilla figure provider
Wave 5 be hard to pick since there going by what’s on demand maybe Godzilla 91 and mgk Godzilla hope not super 7 needs to go all out Showa king ghidrah be cool with Showa gigan that’s my pick
As a collector with over 110+ Godzilla figures, posing and articulation is not even partially why I buy figures. It’s all the looks. And Moguera looks great. Spacegodzilla on the other hand? For me it doesn’t reach my standards, so I most likely will be passing up on it.
I honestly don’t mind how Space Godzilla’s tail looks with the more segmented look since it look cleaner when fully straightened out compared to the first Godzilla mold they made
I feel like I keep asking this and I apologize because so many good things have come out recently but will they reissue these figures or will they only be available on the aftermarket?
I come at these products as a Gundam guy. I do love the paint work and general aesthetics of these, but I'm never SOLD on Godzilla figures especially with their pricing. $80ish isn't BAD for these, and I get why figures cost how they do, but there's always something off about even the more expensive figures that I don't get from my $15-30 HG Gunpla. I'm curious as to how Bandai/other companies could implement Gundam model engineering into Kaiju products. There's some incredible joint structure and color separation design in modern kits. Maybe not $15-30 HG range, but I think it'd be possible to do something for kaiju within the $40-80 RG/MG technology. Maybe someday.
The issue would be pricing. Gundam level of engineering, especially in MG requires a lot of parts to assemble. Figures in general are more expensive than plamos since they need to assemble it. That is the reason why SHMa is more expensive than Hiya Toys for Godzilla kaiju figures. SHMa got more parts and joints to assemble than Hiya. I'm sure it is possible to integrate MG level of engineering to kaiju figures, but it'll be expensive and god knows if many would buy it. I was a Gundam fans myself, so I kinda try and give a persepective of a Gundam fans that became a Godzilla fans
@@panduallen6712Yeah, assembly is definitely a cost factor. I did find a Kiryu kit from Aoshima that's pretty much exactly what I was thinking....One's on sale ½ off on Amazon.... Please stop me from spending money.
I feel a lot people are gonna cancel on both not me I want space Godzilla bad I learn my lesson and don’t wanna pay times as much like the meltdown one sold out and destorya sold out
Yes, it's amusing that Bandai reissued the SHMA's of these as if to undermine them, but price point is really the deciding factor for anyone considering these. I would say the same of Hiya, but looking at GMK yesterday, they have changed the landscape with what can be done at a lower price. They are taking on SHMA in their own sandbox, while S7, at least so far, is more just giving us a step up from MMS.
The SHMA versions, at least here in Canada, are well over twice the price of the Super7. So, in addition to it being a form factor that I prefer, the price is easier on my wallet for sure
@@kaijucanuck4492 What a difference an hour makes. The new S7 series just announced on Target is even another intermediary range. Funny how it's head to head with Bandai's new action figure line!
I actually prefer the toyetic look to super 7s godzilla line, but I will not invest in something that has so many QC issues and irregularities in the quality.
Hey Kaiju Canuck does your space Godzilla have a problem with the tail not being able to connect properly? Because mine may have a defective tail. It seems like the hole on the tail may have not been sculpted properly so the ball joint cannot fit though. I already used a hair dryer and boiled water but these methods don't work.
