Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday made two big decisions on education
Private schools can't hike fee in Punjab this year, parents can't be told to buy books, dress from particular shop.
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

books are provided by schools at double rates, they dont let children use OLD BOOKS, they ask all students to buy new books from the school itself. This should be stoppped.

In our city schools allow us to buy or get old books from anyone but they change books every year and they choose the books that are not available in the market ag cheap rates..😭😭
Where workbooks are involved, these should be bought new, unless these are free from markings. However, used textbooks should be allowed. Schools should not circumvent the new ruling by changing textbooks and workbooks.

Amazing! At least someone is thinking about education system. Also, I personally felt while I was studying in India. Grading Policies of High School or College requirement must be changed because students are studying all the time. And they burnt out. No time for Physical fitness. Which can lead towards Anxiety, Stress, Depression and etc. And, they're ending up having the bad habits because everything is interconnected. School shouldn't be stressed.Instead, teachers needs to be supportive and provide them better vision. Government at least can provide opportunities, Internships, scholarships, and more programs for students in school. After coming to US, I realized India got a lot talent just lack of opportunities.
Such a big and good step to ensure every child gets education.

Maan Sahib, I have become your big fan today. Sir, you have taken a decision which will bring a great relief to the parents and this will reduce the so called ' gundagardi ' of the managements of the schools. Sir, one more thing, in these private schools teachers are underpaid and overworked. Teachers are relieved of their duties any time. No EPF or other such schemes work there. I myself the victim of this system and now running a shop after teaching nearly 20 years. I hope you get my message. May God keep you in good health..

great decision cm saab.... i worked in school and i know how parents are forced to get new books every semester with double rates to buy books only from their school tuck shop and their private merchants and they have to pay more prices than branded clothes for uniforms.
