Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday announces that Punjab MLAs will henceforth not get multiple pensions/family pensions.
Only one pension will be given even if an MLA has served 5 or 6 terms and not an additional pension for each term served.
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

This type of governance will be the future role model if it does well...Kudos paaji !!!
He went to beg the centre for 50,000 crore rupees for per year for atleast 2 years. In other words, he prefers centre to give him 2 lakh 50 thousand crore rupees in his 5 years as chief minister. He's promising people freebies to win elections like giving free bus rides, 1000 rupees per month and so on. Instead of that, Punjab can invest this money on national infrastructure projects to increase GDP.
Its easy to talk about governance model 5-7 days into his tenure, but lets see how he does in the next few years, if he can stimulate economic growth and pay of Punjab's debts. Right now his plan is, take hard earned tax payer money from centre, then give people free stuff, and then seek reelection. Such election bribery policies will not lead to long term growth.
Even today, BJP is making 37-42 km of roads a DAY, compared to 12-14 km of roads a day during congress time, a 300% increase. AAP can bribe people, but will they improve infrastructure? reorganize economy and increase GDP?
Even UP has only taken 2 lakh crores from centre between 2018 and 2021. UP is a state of 230 million people (7-8 times punjabs population), they have ONLY half of Punjab's per capita GDP, they're a border state like Punjab and still Yogi does not beg center for as much money as Bhagwat Mann. This is tax payers money, not his dad's wallet that he can beg center to pay off election bribes to voters. Long term economic growth comes from infrastructure development, like roads, railways, and long term economic policies, not by giving people free water and free bus rides.

Some receiving pensions of Rp525,000 per month, whilst an ordinary person is struggling to make ends meet. A bold decision to limit it to a one term pension. This change should be covered by the appropriate legislation to prevent them from seeking legal redress.

Finally a good and rational decision. Hope other states will do the same. One side Govt is not giving OLD pension to employees and other side paying multiple OLD Pensions to MLA, Leaders.

Fool, he just killed all those formal MLAs means Congess & sad politicians, while AAPs current MLAs have crores of rupees, just see they have revealed themselves, it’s a election process….
His own MLAs have crores of rupees of assets but he will cut 25,000 pension from the formal MLAs…. What a dizzare undemocratic way kill all the formal politicians, a lot of them who r very old now, surviving on pensions….

@@BpositiveDoctor Brother, Punjab has 3 lakh crore debt. If u r a govt. servant, u get pension for one person job. Loophole is that ex-MLA are getting pensions for more than one person. Eg :- If a MLA/MP has been elected 3 times ie. for a total term of 15 years, then he is getting thrice the amount in pension which is wrong
Bihar, UP, GOA, Haryana ,HP etc states already have One pension scheme which is cheaper than Of Punjab. So Kindly stay back from Do anybody dare, kind of Chest beating .
