My dad who owned this was an art teacher. He had a after school club that allowed the students use their imagination when they built the models. I remember a few ford's had Chevy engines. The kit was stored on the top of a 1800's cabinet that had a hidden place on top of it. For many years I didn't see it. Then about two years ago before my dad passed away he removed it from the hidden area of the cabinet. I saw Grandpa mark's channel and saw his love for what he does. I knew my dad would really have wanted for someone to build it who loved model cars as much as he did. My father also built and drove race cars for many years at the Route 13 dragway in DelMar, Delaware. (Arthur) Brent
I've felt so bad that I wasn't able to start this as soon as it came, but I wanted to make darn sure that I would have more than enough room to do it right. I feel like this is a once in a lifetime build. I am so emotional right now about being honored to be chosen to build it. I copied your comment and added it to the description for the build. I'm also going to post it on the facebook page where there are a lot of people excited to see this kit get build. Now they will know why I am going to do everything I can to make this the best kit I've ever done. Thank you again so much for this honor.
I have a few of the old larger scale kits. No idea where I'll put them if I build them. You can scan those decals and send them over to STS. They can redo them for you.
I have no idea where it's going to go, but it's going to look so cool when it get's there. LOL I was thinking of sending the scan to STS, but I'll have to bleach it first.
Boy ---- you sure brought back memories with this one ------ Didn't have the Lindberg model ------ had the Monogram Big T ----- that I built back in the mid - sixties ------ Got me wondering if I still have it tucked away somewhere ----- Will have to see which way you go with this ----- Does look in pretty ----- Good ----- shape for as old as it is ------ Wish we held our looks for some sixty years ------- Hope you have a Good weekend as well ----- Rodney
Thanks for sharing the unboxing video; what a cool, cool model kit! Guess you'll have to look into insuring it when you're through! (LOL) Glad this one's a soon-to-be built model; can't wait to see it! Hope you have a great weekend with the grandkids!
I've seen a few of those massive 1/8 scale kits and as tempting as it is to build one I know it would eat up a lot of valuable display space. I've not seen a build video for one so I'll enjoy seeing that.
I've seen the 1/16th before, but dang this is going to need a shelf all it's own. LOL It will be a lot of fun though, and I'll be able to really run with the details.
Mark, that is going to be one monster of a kit! A color you may want to consider is Vallejo Model Air 71.071 Arctic Blue Metallic. I'll send you a link to a finished build page of a model I built so you can see what it looks like.
You know what, I was thinking of a metallic light blue (Just like the Cadillac I built) with the whitewalls and white seats I think it will really look great.
that's gonna be a fun model car to build.so far I'm having trouble trying to build my 1/8 scale model 65 corvette.i need 2 more better wheels.to finish my model.
WOW WEEE! Now will the new glue even work on this its so old? LOL! Man im with ya on the front end! Will be following for sure!! Yep The Mouse Mobile!!
LOL. I don't think the new glue will work. This feels like plastic and not styrene, so it's all going to have to be CA glue. The Mouse Mobile!!!!! I love it.
Yes, the motor is based off of the Ford Y block.... I have the newer version of this kit with the same parts... I also have the exterminator dragster kit and the Tall T kit which came out in??? ... '06 or '07ish???... Very cool kits!... 🙂
I got about 4 projects to finish an I'm Goin to start one of the ones I have . I have 4 Monogram an I have 2 linberg . I linberg is the newer version from the 80s an everything else is from the 60's . I started getting big scale 1/8 , 1/12 , 1/16 scales I figure once my eyes start going I can move on to big scale to get at least a few more years as long as the shakes don't start lol

That looks like a really cool kit I love the idea of the pickup bed with the Ford Grill I can't wait to see build this one.

Isn't it cool how the old kits show up now and then and bring back all those great memories?
Looking forward to this build.
Thank you mark for all you do!
Thank you so very much.
Very cool savior kit awesome to nice to see you are going to build it.
It really was so nice of him to send it to me so we could all see it get built.

Thanks. It's bringing back memories to me too. I can't wait to dig in.
Looks like a cool super huge model! Lots of details! Cant wait for the build.
Thanks for watching. It is huge, and I'll be able to do so much with it.

Thanks. You cracked me up. I've had this since spring, but just didn't have the room. Now I can't wait to dig in.
Definitely going to follow along on this build, looks like it's going to be a lot of fun 👍👍
Thanks. It's going to be a blast. Lots of lights and for sure sound. Maybe even a remote control for all of it. LOL
That’s cool. Mark can’t wait too see it
Thanks. I'm going to start on October 1st for our group build.
Ok cool
Can't wait to see it built !
Thanks.

Incredible kit can't wait for the build
October 1st. Still not sure what color I'm doing. LOL
Looking forward to see this being built😊
I am really excited to start it out.
that one brings back memories of yesteryear the plastic may react with modern paint try on a sprue
Thank you very much. I was thinking the same thing. I was going to do a few test shots this week.
That is SO cool! I love those wire wheels. I really would like to build something in that scale. Very cool!
I'm kind of tossing the idea of wires in the front and steel in the back.
@@grandpamarkshobbies That would be sweet!
Thanks
Surprising not a lot of flash, going to be a beautiful build.😊
There is no flash at all on any parts. It is the first run of the kit. This one was molded in 1964 Totally different kind of plastic too.
that's gonna be a fun model car to build.so far I'm having trouble trying to build my 1/8 scale model 65 corvette.i need 2 more better wheels.to finish my model.
I've never seen one of these before. It is so cool. In this scale I'll bet there isn't a whole lot to choose from.
Nice! Sheldon Rothwell of the Outlaw Speed Shop built that model, or a simular one, a few years back.
Cool. I'll have to check it out.
That's going to be one serious project
LOL For sure, and you know I'm already looking at what else I can add.
Looks to be a fun build.
I'm excited.

Thank you. I thought so, but I'm not that good with Fords
Nice kit 😎😁
Thank you.
@@grandpamarkshobbies your welcome 😁
nice kit.
We'll have fun with this one.
Very nice kit
Thanks. It's really cool.
Hey Mark with the round front grill would it of been more of like the salt flat racing look they were going for with it ?
Yes, I think so.

Thank you. I will be adding a lot of lights and even sound to it. There is so many different ways to go.
That is KkOoL 👍🏻👀👍🏻
Thanks. It will be a benchmark build for sure.
Way cool
Thank you very much.
Dutch sent me new subscriber
Thanks. I hope you like what you see. I try and have a lot of fun with all my builds.
I'd like to see this kit reproduced. I'm 3 years older than your kit.
Me too. I'd have all three. LOL
I've built all three versions of that kit. They're good but not as appealing as the old 1/8 scale monogram models. 👍
I've never had the chance to build a big scale like this. It sure opens itself up for a ton of extras. LOL
Just so you know I never got a shop card from you
Dang mail. Email me your address again and I'll take it to a different post office. I've been having trouble with the one here.
