Norm, Glad for another season watching Tundra with Norm...Hope the Fur Gods smile upon you with Marvelous pelts and potential mounts... Cheers from Maine.
Norm, trapping season has officially started here in Alaska but I am still gearing up and hoping I can get out. My 70's have been a bit more challenging than I had figured. It always makes me smile to see one of your videos and see what you are up to. I hope to have some of my own adventures to report within the next month. Til then, god Bless, Arctic Circle Dave
I’m so happy to see your getting ready for winter season love watching your videos in the winter when you’re running the trapline or just sitting relaxing by your stove and having that hot tea. I myself burn and heat my home with wood. I’m a 66 year old widow and still enjoy cutting firewood myself. And sitting by the stove with my tea. 🪵🔥☕️💃🙏🏻💃
@@truenorthlivingmanitoba I am a country girl and grew up hunting and fishing and trapping and love it and always looked forward to it. I was raised in Northern New Hampshire and still here
Tremendously done video Norm !!!, watched it twice, maybe again…………cannot wait for the cabin and trapping…………you stay and be well this year my friend, so enjoy going out there with you, like I said before, would love to feel that type of cold and terrain !!!!………maybe someday, would also like to go to Barrow Alaska as well………… see ya later , dave
I’m sure you would love it. Cold windchill but great country and freedom from the rat race. Maybe one day you will travel with me and spend a week or two out on the land.
Great to see you back for our enjoyment. Thank you. Wow, Starlink at the cabin. I sure enjoy mine as it is fast and quite reliable. Beautiful northern lights.
Great to have a cup of tea and watch Norm after a day of shoveling wet heavy snow off of 8 roofs and decks. Appreciate the effort you go through to video for us! 😂
Oh yeah, back in the days when I owned crappy snowmobiles. Plus I got lost or turned around in a storm once. Slept under the stars. Kept a big fire going all night.
Hello Norm👍🏼as for the hitch,,something like a Boxcar coupler the Railroad uses would be slightly overkill😎lol. Danm good video too,,i got a chuckle when You Finally came back to pick Us up. Happy Trails
I believe we see and hear things for a reason whether or not that is our sixth sense, I don’t know. You saw what you saw and heard what you hear. Sometimes it’s family visiting or something to just remember to enjoy your own ride. Your videos are never boring and I appreciate the hints you do for us. I look forward to very experience you share.
Wow Thanks Norm for getting us ready for this year's camp adventures. You just made my night. Yehaa you are going to start 2 weeks early! You must have taped up a few CCM sticks in your day. Can tell by the way you unwind the tape.😊🏒🥅 . Hope you get a wolf these season and that damn fox!😂😅 Take care my friend and maybe you can replace that leaky water scoop at the pond.😂
You must be looking forward to getting back up to the cabin, it would be interesting to find out what those strange lights really are. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Cheers from John and Audrey
Norm, thanks again for taking us along for your primer. As always, just perfect content and territory, looking forward to you having a healthy, safe and great season this winter. Best...Adirondack Nick
Great to see you back Norm with a nice start with some very nice furs. A very far from boring video, it was a nice intro to your upcoming season. I once read a bear warning that reminded me of the sound you heard. "Outdoorsmen are advised to wear little noisy bells so as not to surprise any bears & carry pepper spray. Outdoorsmen should also be on the watch for any fresh bear sign or scat and be familiar of how to tell the difference of a black bear or Grizzly. Black bear scat is smaller & contains berries & squirrel fur. Grizzly scat is larger and contains little bells and smells like pepper!" 🐻 Beautiful photography as usual, cheers from Vancouver!
Great advice Laz. I’m getting ready today with a grocery list. It will come fast now. I don’t want to be caught doing things the last minute. Take care
What a great reminder of last season, so glad you published this, Can't wait till this season gets underway. It will be great to see you out on the trail again. I hope your health will be better than last season, I know it was tough. Take care and thanks taking us along for the ride.
Best You Tube channel by far in my humble opinion! Thanks, for all the great videos and trapper chats ,I have enjoyed every single one of them. I learned a lot from your videos, especially on the trapper chats ,plus got to meet other great trapper YT creators through them. Wish you all the best this year on the line and pray you have a very productive season.
Hey Norm thanks for the little teaser here...lol I can't wait to see you back at the cabin getting all your traps out. When I was watching I seen a couple things that I would like to share with you. When you were taping up you trap spreaders with the white tape, just wondering if you should have some orange fluorescence tape on them in case you dropped them off the box or dropped them in the snow. I think they would be easier to see. The one other thing is when you were showing us your survival bag. I noticed that you put your tarp on the bottom of the bag and not the top. Just wondering that in an emergency it would be best to have your tarp on top to get out first so that you can get your shelter started and not have to empty all you bag out to get to the tarp. It could be the difference between life and death especially if you fell in some water or such. So, looking forward to this year's trapping season with you. Stay safe and warm out there my friend.
I usually carry my orange setters with me. I was tapping the cabin pair. As for the tarp on the bottom, that’s a good idea to have things in order as I need them. Another reason for the tarp on top is to dump everything out on the tarp. See you soon Tom.
Getting started 2 weeks early! Thats best news I've heard in a while. Star link is good too! You should try a live on Christmas day. Thanks for keeping us updated Norm. Can't wait for go time.

Oh man! This gets me excited. Thank you for the video Norm! I should be setting traps tomorrow, but have to be out of town thanks to work. So it will wait til the weekend. Hopefully the bear kept to himself and left the cabin be this year. Glad you are feeling better and should be able to enjoy the cabin/line better this year. I got a kick out of that ending with you driving all the way back to grab the camera. I sometimes wonder what all the critters are saying as they watch you setting the camera out for shots like that? Maybe…. play the tambourine now!! 😂😂

Probably can but I’ve never heard of anyone eating it. I use the carcasses for fox bait.
