It's so strange that now I can watch this kind of adventure in Alaska from far far away; I live in Iran and I really enjoy how you have your own way of joying. This is life. Thank you so much!
Good stuff. When I was in Special Forces we did a lot of training in the snow. One time in Norway my team dug two 6-man snow caves and we lived in those for a couple days. It actually got quite warm inside those snow caves and it was good to be out of the blizzard too. We traveled everywhere on skis and pulled a sled or a pulk with our heavy gear. This video reminded me of that time in my army career some 30 years ago. Thanks for sharing.
So great to hear from you Mike. You guys were the real deal. I would have loved to be part of your team and experienced some of that. One of my favorite individuals is Colonel Norman Vaughn. He traveled with Admiral Richard Byrd in the South Pole expedition of 1928-1930, and wrote the book "With Byrd At The Bottom Of The World". I met and talked with him before he passed away a few years ago at the age of 100. He autographed his book for me too. You might enjoy that read. Peace.
@@ThisIsMyAlaska With your mastery of carpentry and all around skill sets, plus your love of the outdoors, you would have been a great Special Forces Engineer on an A-Team. Thanks for the tip on the book, I just put it in my cart on Amazon for my next order. I'm currently living and working in South Korea. A couple of my old army buddies take regular trips up to Alaska now to fish each year. As soon as I come back home for good I plan to take a trip up there with them. As part of my arctic training in the 6th ID (at FT Wainwright), we had to sleep outside in our bags overnight during winter in order to gain confidence in our equipment. Great video... brings back memories.
Good morning friend. Yes, I see the young soldiers heading down the Richardson, mid winter, in their loaded trucks, heading towards Delta to train. Sometimes it is -20 (F) as they go. I appreciate you guys. You are the best
I was at Wainwright 25th ID 2015-2018 (final duty station) and yes I can confirm we still do this every winter. The dreaded cold bagging. Akios the rest of the time but, they weren't much warmer to be fair.

The wife an andI have toured the entire US and nearly all of Canada by motorcycle. We rode up to Alaska in 2017. But only as far north as Fairbanks. Some of the most beautiful country in the world up there. Purely amazing. We will go back some time. While I have no use what so very for cold weather I love watching videos of people that do. Good morning my friends. The quietness of the mountains at night, coupled with the solitude is almost overwhelming. A few months ago I spent the night alone inside a glacier near here, in a huge ice cave. The. cave was hundreds of feet deep (although I only went back about 200 feet or so). Being in there alone at night, so far from any other people, was surreal. It was one of my favorite trips. Thank you Jessi. I am glad you enjoyed the trip to the mountains. This is one of my favorite places on the planet. I spend a lot of my winter up in this country. You are correct, it is a great blessing. I would not trade it for any other place on earth. Peace to you.
Good morning my friend. Thank you for watching. Yes, I am at peace, especially as I grow older. I am beginning to understand that joy does not come from the outside but rather from within. I am so very blessed. Peace to you from Alaska.
Thank you TH-cam algorithm and This is My Alaska. You've taken me to a place where I can forget everything that is wrong in the world for 18 minutes and see the beauty that is still around. It's seems to be getting harder to find, but I am glad I found this channel.

Good evening my friend. I appreciate you watching. For me, it is always worth the effort to be able to spend the night out in the mountains. I love the solitude of this place. Peace to you tonight.
Usually you block in the entrance of the snow cave to leave just a crawl way. That looked like a chilly cave. Pretty cool to have all the toys there though.

Thank you for sharing this, I can definitely say that those of us living in a warmer climate appreciate these refreshing videos - seeing all this snow makes me miss it even more. :)
Hold on, so you leave your already remote cabin, to enjoy a night in an igloo ? That is the most badass thing I have ever seen!! Hats down to you mate!
yeah, and i bet he went back to that bad ass cabin right after filming the guy does really know what he is doing. and lots of the best equipment. but he would not sleep there unless he had to.
I stumbled up on your video after watching many. But you bring nice, peaceful vibes to your channel. I so love watching your bravery and skills at hand. You are amazing.❤️❤️
Thank you my friend. Welcome to my channel. I am glad you are enjoying my work. Creating these videos to share is such a pleasure as is visiting with the many wonderful people. I look forward to hearing more from you. Peace
Yes my friend, it is too cold for Stella. She loves going with me on my camping trips but I have to watch her closely. She is not so good with the very cold weather.
In the tropical countries like the Philippines, you can go to the mountains for days in a row and the forest will fed you. Cool spring water to quinch your thirst. Edible wild fruits, root crops and protien-rich wild boars for your sustainance. You can build a fire by rubbing each other 2 bamboo slats. But in your case my friend is whole different story. Your ingenuity... wow... awesome. Love and kisses from the Philippines ❤️🇵🇭.
I would enjoy seeing your beautiful mountain country. That would be so interesting. In the mountains here, in the winter, natural food sources would be more difficult to find certainly. There is plenty of excellent water and wild game, but being prepared is really important. I enjoy it immensely. Peace
Pretty cool to see something like this. I live in a part of alaska where there are no trees an most people who are lost dont make it. Ive lost many family members to the weather. Many are just traveling from village to village and get turned around. I myself have gotten lost so many times but luckily ive had my gps with me. I know being prepared is always the key but most days we tend to not prepare for a 3 to 20 mile trip. Its like for you urban folks most car accidents happen near home. Its the same thing for us out here. Its flat with no land marks. But ive also heard of people surviving several weeks in winter with only a lighter and a gun. Somy hats off to you.
Good morning Jacob. Thank you for reaching out my friend. I have spent many years working in remote areas of Alaska and know what you say is true and accurate. I have known too many people in the Koyukon region who have lost their lives in similar situations. The coastal regions that you describe are are even more challenging due to lack of clear landmarks in bad weather. Keep that GPS with you my friend. It is a lifesaver. I would enjoy hearing more from you. Peace
That was so cool. In Canada's north, I have experienced country living. I get it. Loved the little stove and the stovepipes. So cool. And the precision required to keep it all tidily together. I subscribed because of this video.
I have done solo Winter camping in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. It takes a very certain state of mind to do it and a real focus with every move you make. You cannot afford a single mistake that will leave you injured or without heat, food, shelter or proper clothing. It looks idyllic but solo Winter camping is not a trivial undertaking. Good job with this video and his preparation and skills.
Some handy tools you got there, this was amazing to watch, you made this look easy, like the temperature didn't bother. Very well done! Watching from Brazil...keep up the good work !
Definitely love the idea , personally don't think I'd do it myself done alot of similar camping in the winter seen to many avalanches an snow tunnels collapse
Hello Mark. How cool is that. We live in a wonderful time don’t we. I am on my way to Kodiak Island today and will me bringing some cool videos back with me. See you soon
living in the Cariibean for the past 25 plus years i completely forgot how it felt to camp out in the snow. Hands cold, feet sore and hungry like a wolf but enjoying every second of it , and waking up to that crisp morning feeling knowing you survived. Great video i felt like i was there !!
.....A nice hot meal, and basic comforts at the end of a long cold, hard day reminds a man how little it takes to actually be appreciative and thankful for those moments..... I have spent time outdoors my whole life, but I must say that I would definitely be hesitant to be out there without some basic protection from predators and hungry wildlife.... I’m sure you had that covered seeing that you had everything else squared away 👍..... more people should do this... It will help you find out who you really are...I would love to do this with my dog, but I’m a little older now, and I don’t think he would venture too far away from the treat cabinet, the couch, or his mama that caters to his every moan and grunt haha.... actually he’s not that bad... but I’m serious about the couch 😬
Good evening my friend. I enjoyed reading your comments. I have a couple of couch-loving pups too. They keep life fun. I agree with your comment about the joy one can find in the simple things. To me, it is the best kind of joy. I want little more out of life than an evening by the lake staring into the stars and the embers of my fire. Peace to you tonight

Yes wish I can still do this, back in the 80's when the snow was snow we did all kinds of stuff. Now we barely get any snow. Love this cause it's warm, cozy and I can relate.
Hello you really love the weather it seem comfortable for you love the way you set up everything and eat your food and slept under the moon.Take care all like your videos.😁😃🐕
I'm impressed by your capabilities both regarding living in Alaska and videography. Really high quality videos. We were five times in Alaska for gold prospecting but never in winter yet. You inspired us to visit Alaska maybe in winter once. Hello from the Swiss mountains to Alaska!
Good afternoon my friend. So good to hear from you. I have many friends involved in gold mining and love the gold mining history of the early 1900’s. I have read so many great books of that era. Google “Coal Creek, Alaska” and read about the early mining history there. My wife’s father was the superintendent of that mine before he passed away. I hope to do a video of that mine one day soon. Peace
@@ThisIsMyAlaska Hello my Alaskan friend, thanks for your answer. I love reading books about Alaskan history, I read several. Coal Creek sounds familiar to me, I have to check at home, if I already have a book, where this is part of, I bet I have. That would be cool, if you could make a video about it! I was gold prospecting on hobby level several times in the Fortymile mining district in Chicken. If you are interested, you find videos on my channel. Some friends, I met in Chicken, also were prospecting in the Brooks Range, but I never was yet. I would love just to see the Brooks Range one day. And I'm gold prospecting in Switzerland for more than 15 years now, we also have nice gold. Hope to be able to make it to Alaska again next year. Have a great day, and take care, my friend!
Good evening, if you were in the 40-mile area you very likely have heard of the Coal Creek drainage. It is on the Yukon below Eagle, in the Yukon-Charlie Preserve. I will take a look at your channel
I am glad you enjoy the video. Digging into the snow is a great way to camp. It is very warm under the snow,, and it completely eliminates the wind. Snow is actually a good insulator

Hello! What a peaceful, beautiful time of tranquility in nature. Fascinating to see the shelter. I've tent camped down to about 28F and I needed better gear, haha. Blessings to you and yours, friend.
Good to hear from you my friend. -28F is the real deal. When I go out on the trail I always pack everything I need to spend the night out there whether I do so or not. There is not much room for mistakes in those temperatures. Thanks for watching my friend.
The wood stove is so handy. I saw another video where the gentleman was testing out a russian winter tent and he had the exact stove. Very cool video, felt like i was there with you. So simple and no words needed.
Thank you my friend. This little stove is made by Kni-Co. And yes, that is one of the reasons I prefer not talking. I want you to experience the natural sounds so you feel as if you were there yourself. Peace

I've been to Iceland a few times, and its funny, everyone gets off the plane wearing their snow/hiking boots, arctic jackets and snow pants, as if its the Antarctic. But the truth of it is, the airline charged very little for round trip flights, but then charged $100 for your checked bag. So, most people take a carry on, and also carry the Winter cloths over their arm. Your video's make me want to return to Iceland. Love the quiet and unspoiled land!
I love it too, more than I can say! I would imagine Iceland to be very beautiful and that sounds like a pretty smart way to travel! Thank you for watching!

Good evening Renan. Thank you for watching all the way from Brasíl! That is so incredible to think about. I am glad you enjoyed the trip up the mountain. This is about 6 miles behind my cabin. One of my favorite places on earth. Peace to you
Come to California I’ll take you to the snow
Интересно да у нас зима долгим снег весна и нам надоедает это хотим лето море а где-то Бразилии Африке мечтает снег даа это интересно Альхамдуллилах
Wonder full and challenging Alaska night.
Ahhh that was so relaxing and you were doing all the hard work...thank you. Beautiful and cool
It is nice to see all these wonderful things about Alaska. Thanks for sharing just another fraction of Alaskas beauty.
I hope this man realises and knows how blessed he is!
Thank you Jessi. I am glad you enjoyed the trip to the mountains. This is one of my favorite places on the planet. I spend a lot of my winter up in this country. You are correct, it is a great blessing. I would not trade it for any other place on earth. Peace to you.
I think you are the happiest and most Satisfied person in the world 😊
Good morning my friend.
Good evening Scott. I am glad you are here too. Over the campfire the sky is still full of stars, my coffee is hot and life peaceful. There is no place on earth I would rather be. I hope to share some of that with you here. Thanks so much for watching my friend.
So that's camping in Alaska? Fascinating...also the only thing better than a man of few words is a man of NO words...so refreshing & better than usual posts that love the sound of their own voice...well done
Thank you my friend. I appreciate it. I look forward to hearing more from you. Peace.
Blissful sight with the memories of Alaska
Good morning my friend. Thank you so much for watching. I am so pleased you are enjoying these videos. Love from Alaska.
Love this Nature.
Thanks
Kudos for having the skills to do that. Couldn't do it, myself. Almost froze to death, just watching...
Good evening my friend. I appreciate you watching. For me, it is always worth the effort to be able to spend the night out in the mountains. I love the solitude of this place. Peace to you tonight.
A nice little cave for when the night is cold and unforgiving. Neat.
Usually you block in the entrance of the snow cave to leave just a crawl way. That looked like a chilly cave. Pretty cool to have all the toys there though.
All these solo camping vids everyone’s doin are super original
Amo estos videos, me dan una tranquilidad 💆🏻♂️

Beautiful views and experiences my friend. Making memories each and every day. Watching your next episode of This is My Alaska is my reward at the end of a long week. Thanks for bringing us on the journey. Peace to you and yours! - Gene -
Good evening Gene. Thank you keeping me company on this channel. I enjoy your friendship. I am in Kodiak Island tonight with my wife, our daughter and our son-in-law. We are eating dinner in a little eatery down by the sea. It is a beautiful evening. We are here for the weekend and I hope to bring some videos back to share with you here. Peace to you my friend, from Kodiak, Alaska
@@ThisIsMyAlaska It's a joy going on this journey with you my friend. Enjoy dinner with your wonderful family. Blessings!
Thank you for sharing this, I can definitely say that those of us living in a warmer climate appreciate these refreshing videos - seeing all this snow makes me miss it even more. :)
Hi Rachel
Peacefull and beautiful
Wie kann ein Mensch nur so verrückt sein ?
Ich habe den tiefsten Respekt davor ;-)
Vielen , vielen Dank für deine Beiträge !
Hold on, so you leave your already remote cabin, to enjoy a night in an igloo ? That is the most badass thing I have ever seen!! Hats down to you mate!
😂 agree!
yeah, and i bet he went back to that bad ass cabin right after filming the guy does really know what he is doing. and lots of the best equipment. but he would not sleep there unless he had to.
Peace
I wish stella is there but it's so cold for her , thank you so much for treating us kindly , solitude is necessary to recharge our energy
Yes my friend, it is too cold for Stella. She loves going with me on my camping trips but I have to watch her closely. She is not so good with the very cold weather.
Where was Stella?

Peace
It must be so beautiful to hear nothing but your own sounds and the wind.
Saludos mi amigo desde Costa Rica 🇨🇷👍
The part of last 20 seconds of this footage makes smooth the ending and my mind . So lovely :)
Some handy tools you got there, this was amazing to watch, you made this look easy, like the temperature didn't bother. Very well done!
Watching from Brazil...keep up the good work !
So great to hear from Brazil. Greetings from Alaska. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful sky! Absolutely amazing having the know how to survive or just enjoy the harsh temperatures.
Definitely love the idea , personally don't think I'd do it myself done alot of similar camping in the winter seen to many avalanches an snow tunnels collapse
Not enough above him to be a problem if it was to collapse. Only about a foot or so of snow.
I just watched this while I am walleye fishing here in Northwestern Ontario. Great video!
Thank you my friend.
Amazing experience one can have in the arms of the nature. Thanks for bringing it in front of our eyes.
.....A nice hot meal, and basic comforts at the end of a long cold, hard day reminds a man how little it takes to actually be appreciative and thankful for those moments.....
Alaska is the closest to my heart!)
The “Cold Mass” will very quickly overpower this wood stove!
The closer your life revolves around nature the closer you are to God. God bless wilderness people.
Agree. Thank you Ray. Peace
So relaxing to watch videos like this! ❤️
I live in asia and this is amazing! 👍
Good evening Liz. Thanks for watching from so far away. I am honored that you enjoy it. Peace my friend.
Agreed 👌
So nice to get to live vicariously through your videos, yeah I could do that...
Good afternoon Roderick. I am glad you enjoyed the video my friend. I am looking forward to winter. I will be sharing more of these with you for sure. Thanks again for watching. Peace.
Tall about a "kodak moment." Stunning views. Makes me want to move to Alaska and live the way you do. Always a pleasure friend. Always a pleasure.
Good morning my friend. So good to hear from you. I am headed to Kodiak Island this week. I will bring back some videos to share with you. I am looking forward to it. I hope one day to see you up here my friend
Amazing! It's clear how much you love Alaska in your videos! You are so brave! And pancakes? Sausage! With syrup!
Your videos bring me peace. Thank you for sharing your peace with us. ✌
Good morning Donna. Thanks for watching. I always enjoy camp cooking, especially the coffee. Life is certainly good. Peace to you from Alaska.
Yes wish I can still do this, back in the 80's when the snow was snow we did all kinds of stuff. Now we barely get any snow.
Love this cause it's warm, cozy and I can relate.
I'm taking a wild guess you're from Colorado where I am. Used to snow like crazy here and now we might get a half an inch every 20 years
We get plenty of snow everywhere. Did you see the record snowfalls just last month in Michigan, South Dakota, California and Alaska?
I will take a look at your channel
@@ThisIsMyAlaska I feel honored! Thank you!
Inspirational cold weather kit and use.... thanks for the share sir !!
That's really cool. I haven't seen someone digging "ice tent" before. And video was so good, so fascinating, indeed Alaska is beautiful. Peace.
I am glad you enjoy the video. Digging into the snow is a great way to camp. It is very warm under the snow,, and it completely eliminates the wind. Snow is actually a good insulator
I enjoy every minute of your videos
Thank you my friend. I enjoy creating them for you to watch
@@ThisIsMyAlaska Much love bro ❤️

Of all subscriptions that i have, this is something that i look forward to.. No one have ever think about doing this amazing adventure.. thanks for sharing..looking forward for more.. and MORE POWER..
Good evening Yolanda. I appreciate your kind encouragement. Thank you. I am in Kodiak Island (Alaska) this week. I am documenting my trip and look forward to sharing it with you when I return. I think you will enjoy it. Peace
Sensacional o silêncio! Só o vento e a paz. Maravilhoso. Abraço
Thank you my friend. Peace
Provecho Mr Alaska, siempre me quedo sorprendida!!!. Un rato de soledad no hace daño
Good afternoon Guadalupe my friend. Yes, I love solitude. It is difficult to find these days but something (I feel) we all need. Thanks for watching. Peace to you.
@@ThisIsMyAlaska -28F is absolutely INSANE! (complement 👍)
Peace
@@ThisIsMyAlaska Thanks for the video. I’m interested in your stove and any info you can share…..maker, dimensions, weight, etc. BTW, took my mind to north of Paxson Lodge.
No tree's, but oh how beautiful is this Serenity. George Castanza "Seinfeld" "Serenity Now" no Honestly I wish I was there. I'm more alone with people than i am by myself. Exception Mum and my son. Kindest thoughts to you and your family from Australia
I enjoy watching your videos every single night till I fall asleep ☺️
@@ThisIsMyAlaska Cheeseburger and fries is $25 there, and a beer is another $15 lol
.....and to their surprise, Iceland winters are milder than New York or Chicago winters thanks to the warm gulfstream current.
Bucket list adventure for me, I admire your lifestyle brother!!!
Thanks so much Jason.
