Bollywood doesn't copy a lot of songs from South.
It borrows more from Punjabi pop, Pakistani folks or folk songs from the Hindi belt. In the 60s-70s they used to remake Bengali songs a lot, but that was usually by the same composer, so technically not copying.
Also globally.
Its funny how Americans pronounce "PUN" perfectly when they say " NO PUN INTENDED" but changes when they pronounce "PUNJAB" and make it POONJAB.... (Meme - Wait a minute.. Who r u??🤣🤣)

The fact that this is the 3rd part says a lot about the remake culture in Bollywood 😂
The ones within a year or two, or even others with larger gaps are not covers. They usually involve the same artists, the only difference is that the original one was from a pop, non-film album and the remake was then incorporated in a bollhywood movie owing to the song's popularity, usually with a more upbeat, jazzed up/modernised instrumentation and arrangement.
Please, south has done a lotttt of remakes too especially in the 80s to 00s. It's just that bollywood is criticised no matter what nowadays for whatever reason possible at all. If a movie is a hit then it'll be remade no matter the industry.

Well the medley song is actually tribute to these singers/songs and not a remake with lots of changes. I wouldn't count it as a remake

Most of them are not copy they are a part of antakshari game (parody of old songs). It's like a tribute to the original ones. And the others are yes, remakes.

Bollywood more often copies movies from South, not songs.
All these remakes take place in the same universe. It all takes place in a club or some type of party using the same 808 instrumental and EDM sounds. the video would have girls, smoke machines, abs showcasing and poplock dancing.
The originals however all are unique and tell a story. It can be shot in a park, snowy mountain, Europe or just flow a story line. No abs, no sex appeal, all traditional dancing complimented by REAL music composed by a live musical ensemble and sung by Real sngers without autotune.
The industry has no talents or composers, hence why they can only REMAKE greta songs of the 90s. Heck they even remake songs from a year ago or even worse the same year. Its all over the place!

Those made just after original is basically rights bought from individual's solo music album to redo in Bollywood and in lot of cases without much change. Muqabla is from movie muqabla done in multiple language, the muqabla song is in hindi and can say part of bollywood while the tamil original is exact same tune but obviously in tamil wordings.
Prabhu Deva movie is original Tamil movie in 90's. After it has dubbed in Hindi.
I know a song tune from Malayalam film Naran remade in Hindi who had Akshay Kumar in it
More malayalam songs were remade in hindi. I have made a compilation video of those in my channel.

Majority of these aren't really remakes. Bollywood buys the rights of hit singles (most of the songs in this video were actual singles, not original songs from older movies), especially Punjabi ones, and uses them for their movies, sometimes tweaking them a little
