To be honest Tabu was not that popular in earlier days...but as she is ageing she is getting more recognition for her acting skills...also Madhuri is the hearthrobe of India...it will be hard for you guys to imagine the sentiments we have with some of the actresses like Madhuri...and lastly Hema Malini is Basanti from Sholay...i would recommend Baghban movie with her and Amitabh

Madhuri gives whore type expressions that's her only range in acting. Someone good at dancing doesn't mean they're great actress. Indians have tendency to confuse both of them, that's why dancers become top actors and actresses here. But truth is truth. Actresses like Sridevi and Rekha are real actresses who can produce a wide variety of emotions on screen and they deserve to be above madhuri.

Madhuri deserves the no.1 spot because she was pretty much the perfect bollywood female star/actress. Great acting ability, phenomenal beauty and screen presence, exceptional dancing skills, and a lovely personality. It's like she's the most beloved person in bollywood (except for a certain fan group that shall not be named who have a one sided hatred towards her lol).
Her filmography isn't the most impressive by any means, but she's always good no matter how the movie is.
Someone good at dancing doesn't automatically mean they're good actress. Indians keep confusing the two. Madhuri just gives whore like expressions.

She has done 300 films in 4 different languages. She was the number one actress of Telugu, Tamil, and hindi film industry till the time she worked. Her position went to other actress only after she quit working. Sridevi was longest reigning No1 actress of India. She was oted ''India's Greatest Actress in 100 Years'' in National poll. Salman Khan called Sridevi ''Bigger than Khans''. And she left the world with blockbuster movie 'Mom' and cult classic English Vinglish. The ONLY actress in the history of Indian cinema to make a super successful comeback. None of these actresses in your list could deliver a hit comeback. The worst part of your list is your No 1 heroine who has 5 disasters in a row, not a single hit film in last 10 years. You two need to get your facts right. Do not give your views if you have no knowledge about our Industry.

Yes Madhuri Dixit deserves the top spot. She is an exceptional actress, dancer and performer. Unparalleled grace and commendable acting performances. Rani and Kajol for me are the acting greats as well and rank in top one for me but overall as a performer Madhuri takes it all.

Hema Malini is a Bollywood superstar and an amazing actress. To know a bit more about her film career I think you should start with The Cult Classic Film Seeta Aur Geeta (1972). This Film was the highest grossing Bollywood movies of that year and behind it was Pakeezah being the 2nd highest grossing Bollywood movies of that year. In that year Pakeezah and Seeta Aur Geeta were in competition to see which one was better and it turns out to be Seeta aur geeta. In Filmfare awards Hema malini and Meena kumari were both nominated for best actress award for those films. People thought Meena Kumari would get it as she was a legend by then but Who got it Hema Malini for Seeta aur geeta in a whole career Hema Malini got nominated 11 times for the best actress award but sadly this was the only film she won it for. You may remember her playing Basanti In Sholay the talkative village girl. Seeta Aur Geeta is story about twins who get separated at birth. One is a gypsy whose parents didn’t know they had twins because the two villagers that helped them during a stormy night to born the babies found out they had twins and the woman who helped born the babies took the other twin without them knowing and so the girls name is Geeta and she is brave and strong and the other is a shy, abused, weak girl who’s parents die and they let her evil aunt and her nice but scared of his wife uncle look after Seeta. Must watch classic and review it. In my eyes this is the best twin movie ever made in Bollywood and it’s a masala film. You should also react to the songs.

I reckon if Sridevi had been offered art films such as the ones often starring Smita Patil, Shabana Azmi and in more recent years Tabu, she would have proved herself in those types of movies too. Give her any role and any film, she was simply magic and true all rounder.

Madhuri dixit easily.....tabu chose more of serious roles and the movies did good but the stars Mentioned in the list were hugely popular....if you go and ask the people about madhuri dixit they'll give you a list about her work and if ask about tabu there's a possibility that many people still don't know about her or her work which is unfortunate obviously but the concept of movie stars in India particularly meant the star that reaches mass audience and I think that list was apt according to that.

Madhuri has a little more hit in beginning of 90's then Late Shri G but if i remember correctly then Late 80's to early 90's, majorly dominated by Shri G as Queen and Madhuri as adorable princess. I think number 1 should be Shri Devi G. Late Madhubala G was famous for beauty not for acting in the same way as Aishwarya is since one has Devdas in her account in the same way Madhu G had Mugle Azam so not sure in which basis both were ranked as 3rd and fifth. If you go acting wise then no one comes near to Shri Devi G and then i hope Rekha and Nutan JI. if beauty is considered then Aishwarya the Godess then Madhubala Ji the Venus queen and Hema Ji as beauty queen. Dance wise Madhuri is ahead than Katrina, Meenakshi Seshadri, Vaijayanti mala and Aishwarya. And if you go by star value then definitely Late Madhubala G, Hema Malini G and Aishwarya had bigger impact on public due to their un parallel beauty and good amount of hit numbers.

First of all, ANY list of all-time greats needs to have Madhuri & Sridevi in the Top 2, no argument. You can have them at either spot depending on your preference. Currently, I'm more digging Sri's Filmography.
Secondly, what the heyull is Hema Malini doing anywhere near the Top 25?? Yes she was the hugest star in the 70s, but ACTing, I don't see her.
Thirdly, there is a reason why Madhubala has ZERO Filmfare Awards. She was often criticised for her poor acting skills by journalists and film reviewers at the time of her super-stardom, she is the most beautiful yes but again (and yes she did improve a lot in her later years) but she was not supposed to be in this god damn list.

After Raja, all her movies flopped. If she was such a huge star after HAHK and Raja, all her movies should have been hit afterwards. Dil To Pagal Hai wasn’t a hit because of her and by then the media has already written her off as she herself mentioned in her acceptance speech when she received the best actress award.
U named 2-3 of her flop films and saying that she is survived due to item songs..whereas she is not only a great dancer but also a great actress with great acting skill and expression..she was the undisputed reigning queen of her time although the movie of her time were more Hero centric.she continued to impress the audience of that generation and she also has most no of hit than any other actresses of bollywood..

Madhuri Dixit is indeed the best actress. Between 1988-2002, nobody could touch her. Her expressive acting and dancing prowess made her the most desired actor. People still want to watch her. She is still doing great projects. IMO, you guys should explore her films. Mrityudand, Prahaar, DTPH, HAHK, Pukar, Khalnayak, Dedh Ishqiya, The Fame Game and Maja Ma.

Madhuri's few films might not have worked at the BO but her performances were always top-notch. Her series and films worked wonders and gained views.
