Building A Bike That Looks Like A Car

- The PodRide is a four-wheeled, electric bike that's perfect for winter bike rides or off-roading. The fabric shell keeps the rider both safe and warm during harsh weather. It even comes with headlights, windshield, wipers, and a small storage compartment. The designer built the bike so he had a ride he could use all year long. Now others are crowdfunding his prototype for the chance to get their own.

somebody needs to make a bunch of these and create a rental service
They are working on it.
They are working on selling it like actual cars
You can find something close to this in a park or something
challenge accepted
@@douglas_hsu they been doing it way before this guy did it..
"MOM! DAD! I KNOW WHAT I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS!"
sooooo, whats the price? my budget is inf
This looks awesome, I would love one. I can see these being the future if advertised enough and governments invested with them
This is actually really awesome
yes it is
true
Imagine how further n sooner all kids n America would b if they started out with one of these
@Brian u didn't have good Christmas presents as a child did u
@@sprinkle5256 it could've stopped all those skinned up knees I had asa child on a dumpy tricyle o how I cried
This is such a good invention that he made, it works all-year round in terms of the weather too. It would be an added feature also if it could shovel/remove snow as well...
I want this so bad. Like ill be sitting there and mom will be like KYLE TAKE THE POD BIKE AND GET MILK FROM THE STORE, WE RAN OUT.
I'll take one!
10/10 definitely something I would buy
Creativity runs among people when they are bored. This is a work of art
Ok! Are We Back To Flinstones :)
YAY c:
I honestly want that to happen since you never run out of gas we could make these instead
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hell yeah i would take a ride in the Podride
0:30 Sick donut!
"shut up and take my money!!!!" Lol. Love it. Awesome build. Kudos, and a huge thank you for sharing. Can't wait to not only see, but ride/own one of these. I'm sending you a blank check rite now..lol
For the last few seconds of the video, I have begun to question us regulations on cars and bikes. Things other countries enjoy the US can't because of the regulations. EX) R34 skyline gtr, this podride, and so on.
I work with a guy who drives a ELF to work so this might be legal.
Usually the cars are illegal because of US strict emission laws. This is a bicycle I think it’ll be OK
@@crujones4046 strict emmision laws aha xD how can a 2 litre nissan skyline be more bad to the environment than a 5 and 7 litre v8 gas guzzler slow shitty american car?
That should be on sale
i would totally get one if they were on sale
since i saw this for the first time I am saving and hoping that one day I will by it when it comes on the amrket! i hope it will not be too expensive !
*I WANT ONE OF THESE.*
Jesus Zamora, YAAAAAS 😄👍
Jesus Zamora me too
You can be an investor like me
Also i want this
How much
Lol I like how extra he's being with the “donuts”
Thats cool, I can definitely see my self using it!
Lol that looks like a lot of fun 😂👌
Simply eco-friendly & awesome!
We could fix the planet, but America says no to 4 wheels, when it is so clearly a bicycle, I mean, come on!
Bicycles have two wheels
It says "yes" to 4 wheells, but only in the non-motorised version... stupid law, europeans expected something like that, so the law was ok with the motorised version from the beginn on... It´s a matter of different culture, US-society was never supposed to get "ecologic"...
I saw a vid on one when I was like 5. Wanted on for like 4 years.
Spooky Boi same
that really looks like car totally wouldnt have realised if you didint make a video about it
With all the pressure recently on cycling to work, this type of covered electric aided bike is the only thing that makes sense in a country that can have a downpour without warning and it would also prevent you turning up to work wet, hot and sweaty.
This is a similar idea I have in mind a pedal car for adults basically for both fun and for those people like me that can’t afford or just don’t own a car probably live in or really close to town and a still want to be independent be able to go everywhere even on rainy days and can get groceries on the go
I've been looking for something like this for so long. Exercise; fun; useful for neighborhood tasks; won't hurt your a**.. oh yass ❗
My question is how much will it cost after mass production?
Around $6K
Should note that these are not crash safety rated, so if you get in a collision with a vehicle at speed, it could result in serious injury. That fabric shell would offer little impact protection. Riders would need to keep their heads on a swivel.
Great idea. We Dutch should do something like this as well. We only have a "car" like the Canta and bikes like the Velomobiel QuattroVelo and the Flevobike Orca as competitors. Both just aren't it. You don't need that much aerodynamics with electronic assist, but we lack a proper pedal microcar for the urban masses. The Waaijenburg Canta originally was meant to be an enclosed mobility scooter, but as second hands they're used by normal people as well.
Podride is so close to being perfect, it just needs to get rid of the electric support so it can actually be a quadricycle and drop at least 60% in price. It's a shame how every producer wants to make their pedal vehicle some shitty electric car.
I want a bigger pod ride. So I won't pay for gas 😂
I’ve always wanted to do this, I’ve been switching of videos on TH-cam about this but I couldn’t find any
In USA,since this has 4 wheels and a motor, its a car. And that means it doesn't have mandatory safety features;side impact beams, seat belts, safety glass, air bags,etc.Stupidity. Subtract a wheel, making it less stable, keep it fast enough to be fatal, and that's just fine...
Now I want to buy this
edit: nevermind im broke af
『 carolina 』 its 100k dollars
This is actually amazing and cool.
Love it!! Want one in lime green
My brother would love this
Looks awesome sliding around on the ice
I would love one of these. Especially to tow a little bike camper.
I can imagine pullin up in the school parkin lot, and every one is think "the fawk is that?" and I just respond with "I dont have to pay for gas mf"
Even the prototype looks awesome!
This isn't is a bicycle if it has four wheels.
Stupid insider
Lol
thats the point
lol good point
@Clorox Tree The Doctor invented those!
I want this idc if its motorized or not
It's like the little pedal cars I had when I was younger
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I need this ASAP
This would be perfect 4 me. How much will the nth-American version cost?
BRO!
*I WANT ONE NOW*
Valdis Lācis, DITTO 👏😝
This would be so much fun with an electric motor though!
it already has one
American Laws keep the cars on the streets looking plain and boring that's why we can't get Holden Ute's or Nissan Skyline GTR cause of chicken tax and the 25 yr law 😭 can't we get something interesting and unique for once
I've always dreamt of one of these
How do u make it?😂😂😂I have qll the quarantime
I hope it will come to Poland!
Awesome creation. Excellent!
This is ideal for everyday use,you would take lot of the petrol fumes out of the air, and ,if they can make them " really economically cheap" and why not " as a means to get from a + b well these are perfect
Just wait for it to roll over ........
This is cool imagine driving to school with this
If they ever sell billions of that bike, I'd pay money to buy it
That’s gold!
About freaking time. I wanted these sooo bad as a kid. I wanted to be like "the grownups". Finally someone did it.
Imagine just pulling up to the denny’s
With this tiny as car bike
Aaaaaaand another video about a subject that already has a video. How surprising.
This looks awesome.
The video posting date may 4th .2018 . two years gone , can you tell us show us what has happened since? We are all very interested to see the advancements .
Is there a hand pedal version of this please? How much would it coat? Can it be shipped to me in 🇬🇧
I don't know how to ride a 2 wheel bike so this really could be something that will be use to me. I want it so bad now actually.
I actually use to be friends with the creator of this thing back when I lived in Taiwan lol
I had this kind of idea in my mind for years.
Cant wait for these to be relased in europe
You should sell that its pretty dope
This would be so cool to have!!!!
this is cool, i really hope they go global. and please test it in Holland too, so much wind here.
I really do want one.
If you had a trailer with about 6 deep cycle batteries you could really travel!
Holy shit dude, get this on the market already! Goddamn...
They are taking orders but this prototype video all over the web is a bit of a scam. The actual model is much heavier and is solid plastic on the lower half.
@@popeyegordon can you tell me the website where they are taking orders?
My childhood dream!
LOVE IT!!!
I think the issue in the UK would be that these 4 wheeled vehicles would get in the way of motorists given that our roads are quite narrow. Bicycles annoy enough drivers and they are much narrower. I'd like one myself though if this wasn't a problem
Lmao😂😂😂they made those tiny cars into a real thing!💯😂😂😂
Love it,
Wow looks amazing
I want one of these!!!!
This look like something that would be in top gear
Don’t mess with this guy.😂
Awesome!!
4 years since the video was uploaded and this invention didn't make it to the market yet. Possible reason - production cost is probably too high, so that the market price would be the same as that of a small second hand car, but with more limitations - running distance, luggage limit, easier to steal, maximum speed. Whenever someone invents a new type of bicycle, it always ends up having an electric motor, lights, phone charger .... extras that only make the price ridiculously high and are not needed for a 30 mins trip.
This bike was only created to solve 2 problems - slick roads and precipitations. 3 wheels would be enough for slick roads and the lightweight cover would protect from rain / snow. If there was a lighter construction, no battery would be needed, which means lower price. More standardized drivetrain would mean lower production cost and cheaper maintenance, which would attract more customers - if the local bike shop can service your cranks or sprockets, that would make your life easier. Simplicity is the key.
This is cool. I don't bike but I will ride this any day .
How about a wider version with a more powerful electric motor?
So... It's basically human powered car, not a bike. Nice contraption by the way.
Quadracycle is a four wheel bicycle, what this is.
I need this bike now.
If the North American podride has to have three wheels, put two wheels in front and one wheel in back. And I want one 👍
Organic Transit ELF already does this, and with more cargo space in a hard shell. Yet Rhoades Car has been around in the USA in TN since 1991.
Neither one of those company's produce vehicles that can be useed in the North east winter. They also have no doors lol. This PodRide bike would be suitable for North east weather. If you know of a company that does do something that i can use up in the Northeast though, let me know cuz that would be cool.
Rhoades Car sucks for not having full enclosure as standard but it is not impossible to do. OT ELF comes with Optional Doors, both this and the ELF lack a FLOOR and not hard to find and add in a heater for winter months into an ELF either, just get the same system he is using for heat.
Then again, not all sidewalk/walkways are bike friendly up here or cleared of snow most the winter, let alone the bike-walk paths/trails are also seldom cleared of snow in winter. But when snow is clear but still cold, I would ride an ELF in the cold if I had one. I have biked/cycled in winter when roads are clear and traffic is lighter than normal.
You can buy already a TWIKE, a 3wheeled pod-bicyle with electric motor, for only 20'000 Euro (about 24000 US $) in the most minimal line.
Something even better by Organic Transit called the ELF.
He must have been watching the Flintstones.
No he has been watching the Simpsons.
That is awesome.. I want one ASAP.. where I can get one from
1:03 scrubs suck at jumping.
Now my mom wont need to take me anywhere because I got a car without a drivers license
Love it
Its ossome it very nice if it present in Indonesia 👍
I hope you...
you have franchise here in Philippines!!!
Pls!!!!!
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I totally want one of these bikes!!!!! Do they come in Hot Pink and any other colors or do they only come in blue???
