I agree with nearly everything. I think this entire movie was an attempt to emasculate joker because people felt so strongly towards his joker from the first movie. His version of joker quickly became iconic and resonated with so many and he goes from badass psycho clown with nothing to lose to a wimp who gets taken advantage of by everyone (his lawyer, harley, his mom, the guards etc), with an embarrassing sex scene and no ownership of who he is which is Joker. It's such a shame and I think the movie was just to make fans feel dumb for rooting for Arthur as Joker.

No, it's a complete success. It was designed to humiliate the people who liked the first movie, by taking him down like they humiliated Luke Skywalker

      @@TerribleEnglishI dont think it worked.
It was heavily implied Arthur was abused as a child, not just with neglect.
They can try to abuse and degrade the character all they want, but it's too late. They cant undo making the first film.
Every effort they make to humiliate the character, only makes him resonate with people more.
They've made it obvious, they hate us. That's a monumental mistake.

The first one was nothing more than a masterclass in the "bait and switch" after the director gets his extra "comic book movie" production money... Aaaaannnnddd.. of course, Other than a few non consequential references sprinkled in so that enough of the IP is sprinkled in to pass the studio's incredibly lacking sniff test so he could use the name for hype and marketing all while the director is admitting its not "joker" in any way other than the name.. which apparently was enough to fool the studio into giving him 50 million to stroke his ego and work out some personal issues. Especially since its essentially a love letter/pipe dream for pathetic, mentally deficien soyboys that should just do everyone a favor and give themselves the room temp challenge before they try throwing a Pissy little prepubescent tantrum on someone that prefers to resolve issues with violence instead of attention seeking behavior like arthur from these heaps of shit, NOT JOKER, "joker" movies.

Thank goodness for the internet to stop us (me in particular) from paying for tickets. I didn't even see the movie and even I felt furious, sad and disappointed from everything I've heard and read. I do wonder if that Todd Philips got the reaction he wanted? Did he expect media to take his side and cheer for killing off the Joker how he did? I'm glad this terrible movie flopped but feel very sad to why it did. They could of had another successful, amazing story to tell but everything we loved was spat on.

I had someone ask me about this movie before he was going to see it (because he was skeptical) and I told him to just go watch the first Joker and cherish it lol. It's absolutely crazy to me that a major studio would flush $200 million down the toilet after the first film garnered Oscars and made over a billion, all so the director could piss all over fans of the first film? HUH?! Makes absolutely ZERO sense. Like, imagine a studio following up a batman film with one where he's beaten/raped/hamulated/pissed on and then sacrificed. It's laughable to think about but here we are. And the people celebrating this sequel and laughing at "the wrong kind of fans" from the first, they are delusional! I truly don't get how people walked away from the first movie relating to Arthur? He was a child that was brutally beaten and assaulted being raised and repeatedly beaten down by the world in extreme ways. It's not a widely relatable experience for the average audience like most seem make it out to be. Arthur is completely abandoned and mistreated by society as a whole when he's just a man looking for acceptance and love that is never there. I can understand the hatred for not being "The Joker" movie but personally thought that feeling was supposed to be clear to viewers by the end of the first movie? The audience seems personally attacked when the movie was NEVER even about YOU it's about Arthur.

As far as I been watching, there are voices in the folie a deux's defense being that it was meant to be a "meta fiction", a creator's take aimed to reflect on the story & it's viewers, rather than the story's structural progress.
It gave me this imagery: I come to a bar where stand up comedians perform in the evening. Then, a guy climbs on the stage and instead, like, giving us the jokes, he begins on the diatribe about how all comedy is not being treated right these days and we force the artist to be mere of a crowd pleaser, saying we're fools for coming here and wasting his & our time. And then when I say that he's a scene-making fraud, he replies: I'm just being meta.

You're just reciting what other people were/are saying. This film was good, defo no masterpiece like the first, but it was alright its not that bad, it has a few, daft, annoying scenes, but come on now, give me break. Its not the worst film in the bloody universe.
You're not giving a real reason why you hate this film other than the obvious...you hate it because everyone else hates it. Why do you really hate it?
Yes, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion yea, but the intensity of the backlash is bloody ridiculous.
The way people are reacting makes me think there’s more going on here than just whether or not the film was good. What really gets me cross is how much of the criticism or hate.. there's no real crit here, feels like it’s been copied and pasted from other people’s opinions..smh..
It's funny because years from now everybody is going to rewrite history.."oh joker 2 wasn't as bad" i don't know, this feels like a new level of copycat behaviour, where opinions form in an instant based on what rotten tomatoes said or someone who thinks the joker is real..lol..the film didn't even gets a fair chance. You're"argument" or criticism isn't convincing.
But whatever, i liked it. Im part of a small percentage of stupid people who liked it. In the end it doesn't matter Joaquin received$20 million, Gaga, what.. $12 million..do you think they give a shite if their film suxed..No! They are rich, its just a job to them, cheers.🙏🏻🃏💯👍🏻

When I made this video I haven't watched a single video regarding others opinions on it but sure, assume that I just repeated someone else. These were my initial thoughts after watching it. I don't look at Rotten Tomatoes or any of that crap. Those scores mean nothing to me.
You're welcome to like it, but it was a mess and completely undid a variety of things from the first movie, and not even in a coherent or interesting way. You're argument for liking it is "I like it", not convincing either BTW but ok. Like I said, you're allowed to like it, it doesn't matter to me. I'm not trying to convince anyone. This movie was not enjoyable in any sense. It's been out for weeks now so idk how it hasn't got a "fair chance". Yes, word of mouth can be powerful but people can make their own decisions whether or not they want to see this.

I disagree that Harley Quinn is an overrated character. Like Wolverine, she's overexposed but is still an interesting character. Margot Robbie is excellent at playing Harley Quinn, even though most of the movies she's played Harley Quinn in were disappointing.
As far as this second Joker movie goes, i'll just pretend it doesn't exist, just like I ignore the existence of the sequel to SLC Punk.

@@DannyKnightblade45 Whaaatt? I didn't know there was a sequel to SLC Punk! 😄 now I'm curious but it seems I shouldn't. But yea, we still have the first Joker and that's great.
As for Harley, just purely from hearing and seeing her throughout the years, I just didn't get it! Maybe I should've said overexposed. I'm not someone that knows a lot about comics and all the lore. It's honestly just from my outsider observations 🙃

I just feel sad and empty 😢 this is like the GOT ending i couldn't let it go for weeks, i don't think it was a bad movie but it was a shitty sequel that destroys the first one people saying this is like a long epilogue are nuts, did they watch the first movie? Arthur is dead after he kills Murray, a regression of the character is the worst Todd Phillips could do. Better pretend this sequel never existed and watch the first one once again, WB should make a re release of the first one in theaters, i bet they'll make more money

A musical was a horrible idea for a joker film. The first movie wasn’t a musical so why is the sequel one? 🤦‍♂️
People mainly defended this bad decision because one, people are obsessed with this overrated villain who simply is just a bad guy who does bad things while wearing clown makeup. - Take away the whole clown makeup and laughing, then joker isn’t so great is he?
And two, because they love Joaquin as joker

This film clearly demonstrates that the majority of people that watch the rise of Fleck felt exactly how the Joker did as the Joker killed him at the end with all rage and disappointment of our once Hero becoming a just a man…..he is just a man of and for that he was killed ……..
