Leadership isn’t about titles; it’s about responsibility. It’s inspiring to see those who view leadership as a journey, not a destination, and commit to helping others rise. Leadership grows through curiosity, humility, and the willingness to never stop learning.
The day we stop learning is the day we stop living; which is what makes the unquenchable quest for knowledge, understanding, clarity and perception so enticing, inspiring, interesting, stimulating, fascinating, rewarding and exciting.💛 As leaders and managers of our own lives the more we know the more we grow both individually and together with those around us in so many profoundly influential, impactful and transformational ways.💛
Thanks. One thing is I'm starting a project and I have some great, intelligent people working on it. Leadership is going to count more than management.
I'm currently penning my thoughts and actions I've taken in the leadership arena before I retire. I was asked by our Special Agent In Charge to provide this piece to the field office's supervisors before I exit the stage next year. You've summed-up my thoughts on the difference exceptionally well. I remember briefly meeting you at the Public Affairs Office of the Joint Staff several years ago as you're friends with my boss (Col) at the time.
People do not wake up wanting to be led, either. Leadership is listening to people and helping them make the best decisions while improving their own skills and preparing them in such a way any one of your team could easily take your place.
This will probably be drowned out. Simon I see another TH-cam channel titled with your name and the word "podcast" at the end. It seems to have an ai version of you talking about very similar ideas and possibly excerpts from your books. Is this channel affiliated with you?
And this is why young people typically are not good 'leaders'. As you get older and become wiser, you also gain an appreciation for people and you put off arrogance and the pursuit of success, and replace this with a desire to assist others and shape them into great people.

You’re only a leader when people decide to follow you.
One of the best organizations that train people how to be leaders….is the U.S. Military. I was an AF officer and they may be the best at it.
