That red cloak was a solid choice. It really pops so much against the other colors and looks great. Totally achieved the 'people will look at my model first'.
hi ninjon something I have recently discovered on working with "pure red" and hilights is to use an undercoat of super bright magenta before going for a pyrrol-style red over the top, it really gives it some insane rich juicy punch that works beautiful. Gives it that extreme punch and contrast without having to lean into lobster territory (you know what I mean)
Damn I forget just how insane you are, your light orientation is always perfect and your shading is phenomenal, maybe one day I can be %1 as talented as you are
The sculpts and the color choices remind me of Kabuki theatre and what colors the protagonist and antagonist share. Red warm tones for the hero and blue/purple cool tones for the villain. Even the poses, "good guy" elf's Vader hand and the over all composition harken to wood lock prints
This is like the mini painting version of celebrity boxing. Need a whole series of content creators dueling with a mini duel piece with the same heat of Jon Vince trash talk
Great video again Peach. Will echo how you go from 'chuck some base coats on, slap some strong tone on, 'tidy up a touch' and it looks amazing on the close up. Would you manage to paint all of these within a single session? I get as far as basecoating the leather bits before I'm done for the night.
Hell of a skill set in the lighting of models painted by different folks, they look as if they were painted at the same time. vibrancy matches across both, the usually bright color for the good guy and dark for the bad guy are often so contrasted, not here, the differences are obvious to who is who but so well balanced by color scheme and lighting/highlighting resulting in each being able to stand alone while a perfect match when together! Great work!
I think the biggest difference I see is the way you painted the skin, especially the face and eyes. Otherwise the lighting and style match up very well, though yours does look overall a bit brighter and more saturated to me as well; but then maybe that's a good contrast here.
They are facing each other. That means the blue light on the back of the "bad guy elf" should be lighting up the FRONT of the "good guy elf". You painted the back as if they were standing shoulder to shoulder away from the light. :) Minor nitpick, it looks great. But here you go, time to start over. JK!
I thought the same thing when he first brought it up. But it is shining from below on Vince's model so, wouldn't even be directed at Jon's model. So I am thinking there is some ambient source surrounding the both of them
I know it's kind if your style, but I really want to see you paint some different skin tones. Seems like you've been using the same de-saturated red to warm ivory since you did the skaventide clan rats.
I know the model will come out great but does anyone know where to get those cats tongue brushes with the gold ferrule? I love using cats tongue brushes but can’t find any good quality ones and Jon’s look noice.
I don't know if this goes against a principle of yours, as you usually only refer to general colours but i'd love to see a bit more specifics on the paints you've used. I copied the AK Burnt Red to AK Luminous Flesh you used in a video a few months ago and it's a fucking REVELATION and it's 1 billion% down to the specific paints. However i had to play the video at half speed and be a quickdraw on the pause button to catch it. Edit: Like how in this very video you discuss a p3 paint and how it fulfils your needs etc.
Lyla Mev recommends photographing the zenithal prime, so you can refer back to the pictures for shadow and highlight placement reference after you start to paint the midtones over it.
The banter back and forth between you and Vince always makes me happy.
You guys need to do way more of this type of content. Much joyfulness indeed
Vince's response: a short and stern "sure..."
I love that there's a miniature painters extended universe now
This could be awesome! Who is which MCU character?
Vincie V really is a strict technomancer.

Awesome work! I have been looking forward to your part of the model since seeing Vince's video a few days ago.

Man you both did a fantastic work on your paint jobs
Wow. This is a really really really nice painted little side kick to Vince's Masterpiece. :D
Damn I forget just how insane you are, your light orientation is always perfect and your shading is phenomenal, maybe one day I can be %1 as talented as you are
This is beautiful, the way you matched the vibe is incredible.

Make it like chess boxing, a round of painting then a round of boxing and then another round of painting.
Amazing paint job, I think the brush on the helmet would've also looked good as a similar blue to the trim
hmmm you are looking leaner damn. congrats!

A great job, Jon and Vince. Perfection! Both models look like they should be together 👍

Friday, 2pm. Finish work and see a new Ninjon video go up. Love it.
Anyone else hear that synth startup and immediately in their head hear, "It's me, an Asian."? Lol Great vibes as always
It was weird, at the very end, I could only see a dark elf, camera issues maybe?
Seriously though they both came out amazing. Loved the nmm and skin
Love your paint job. Yours is very definitely the hero, plus in the competition between you and Vince, you won. ;)
Out of curiosity when struggling for color scheme, is there a reason why you didn't bust out the color cubes?
May I pretty please name a future NPC 'Vince's Emo Elf'?
Hey, Jon. I don't know if you know this, but you're pretty good at painting.
Beautiful work as always!

Jon and Vince 2028!
Maybe that would actually get Scott to vote!
Amazing work!
Duuuude, Bold Pyrrole Red RULES.
I stole Vince's figure........ And now he knows. Good job your good mates.
Hello nice work, i'm jealous at how good you are.
I have a question, what brushes do you use?
Would have been a great opportunity to use the Color Cube to choose a nice color scheme!
He-man vs Skelletor ❤

Insta-like for the Monty Python reference.
1:57 - ok, pausing as Hobby Cheating videos drop on Saturdays, ain't it so Vince? ;)
You say thor, I say a Lannister always pays his debts.
awesome.
elf on elf action
Epic as usual bud

You've heard of elf on a shelf, now get ready for elf on elf.
Amazing job!
Isnt that one of the scenes in AVN award winning lords of the ring?
Oops, wrong platform!
Everybody loves a bit of elf on elf action. Now, wait... that sounds wrong ;-)
I need to get a nemesis
Please fix your audio, music is way louder than your voice so I always have to adjust the volume
(Plate mail not ring mail.)
54mm is big
❤️👍 amazing video agen bro 🔥🤘
yeeehaaaa!

woohoo :)
I saw the thumbnail and thought, "Cool, a Thor Elf"
Lol Elrond x Thor 😂
These minis are not the same scale as WH ones. You can clearly see. I expected you to know the difference between scale and size.
