I love this video. But one of my biggest peeves is when someone says a part of me is lazy; probably since I struggle with such fatigue. Our brains are not lazy, they are overworked. When your body is sick, your brain is *working* to heal, and it is the most energy hungry muscle/organ in the body. That is one thing we all need to realize; our bodies and brains are working more than those who are not chronically I'll. That leads us to have less energy available for other activities, but it doesn't mean that any part of us is lazy. We are just working harder on a less visible level. 💓
@@mikaelastefkova Ask them if they would call a person with cancer lazy? I am sorry you have to deal with someone with a lazy heart and a lazy attitude.

I’m currently struggling with this and have 20 dollars because I’ve lived off my savings for a year.. I applied to almost every remote job but heard nothing back, most of my experience is physical jobs like security which I can’t do due to my chronic pain.. feeling lost is an understatement
Same here... 4.5 years in chronic pain, undiagnosed still waiting for tests. Can you do part time-full time minimum wage if you can't find anything else? For example some cashier jobs would let you sit down esp. as an accommodation. Just throwing it out there. I do cashier and it takes a lot out of me but I was on sick leave and just returned. Maybe food delivery? Anyway I hear you, keep taking care of yourself.
I really like your tips and ideas I have not been able to work for almost 2yrs and having to live with family because I was not able to take care of things at my old place or do the regular tasks it's been tough. I want to share my previous jobs I worked at a group home for disabled adults that were high functioning and another house that was for recovery as well and was able to rest most of the time in a chair and while doing paperwork and it was good pay. My last job was working at an abused women's shelter and I was able to sit and rest most of the time as well between few tasks so it was very reasonable physically for sure. Just thought I would share.
I relate so much. I have a lot of experience in editing and writing, but freelance jobs can be so hard to come by. Going through the mourning of another job not working due to health getting in the way. Chronic illnesses suck! Thank you for the motivation, this videos is encouraging :)
I love this video, thank you! I was wondering if you would consider doing a video about how you stay positive when you can’t sleep or don’t sleep well. All I ever see online are videos about how bad it is for our body to not sleep well, but lack of quality sleep is really common in chronic illness and I just don’t see it talked about as much which is interesting to me.
Such a good idea. I have been sleeping terribly lately and I used to wake up just so upset every morning. I have some awesome tools that I'd love to share with you to help you be happier when you don't sleep well! I'll add it to the list! :)
I've been putting a cold wash cloth on my head right before bed and it helps with inducing sleep. Learned it from a Doctor Allan Mandall he has his own TH-cam channel. It works really well.
Great video, Aimee! I work as a freelance translator & interpreter, mostly from home, I think it is a good option for someone living with a chronic illness.
I used to kinda want to do this years ago, among anything to do with languages. I really went astray for several years... Thank you for reminding me of this possible idea for me to consider.
I'm currently a biology teacher and dang...sometimes this job really aggravates my illnesses. Jobs should be able to accommodate to people but this job is hard regardless.
Yes! That was me. I taught high school math and it was so hard! I ended up quitting in May right before school ended for the year. I couldn't even make it 4 more weeks.
I work full time as a teacher with rheumatoid arthritis and have done for ten years. It's a real struggle but I push on... I think one day I'll have to compromise and do something else though!
I just left work early again because of my pots flair up. It’s so scary, I’ve always had jobs moving around and lifting stuff or stocking and I don’t know how long until I can’t go to work at all! It’s been getting worse and more frequent for the last couple months. Thanks for the tips ❤

I’m 26 & have constant stomach problems and migraines, it’s first week of new semester of school and I already missed 2 days due to a horrible migraine. I feel so horrible all the time and doctors never help.
I am 23 and the past year my joints have been dislocating and I’ve never been so fatigued in my life…I’m more than 100% confident that I have Elhers Danlos syndrome. My mom had it, but she didn’t experience symptoms until later in life (without the dislocating). I feel horrible about my boyfriend supporting us because it’s really unfair to see him work so hard while I’m stuck in bed in pain or moving around like I’m in my 80. We are definitely not making it in the financial world living paycheck to paycheck or increasing our debt…. I’m at my wits and looking for remote work does anyone experience have experienced something similar like this and how did you find remote work!? ❤
Love all your videos. Can you make a video on insomnia. I’m not sure if you suffer from that but would like to know your thoughts... thank you for everything you do!
It sucks having a chronic illness without a college degree. Mine hit college age so I couldn't even get one. If you have a degree, it's much easier because a lot of remote jobs will ONLY hire if there is a degree. Not to mention you can do individual things like therapy, tutoring, teaching, etc.
Does anyone here have job/career/business/education advice resources for someone who is housebound and only able to work 2 hours a week from home. Yes, 2 hours a week. Hi! I hope all is well with u. May i ask if u know any work from home jobs for people who has severe arthritis? I have a suspected psoriatic arthritis and the symptoms just appeared last this june. In just 3 months, i was completely bedridden. But now i can walk but limping because my knee and left foot are so painful. Both of my hands are affected too and i can't make a fist because it's swollen. Thanks! :)
I think this video is a really great video and has some really great ideas. Thank you so much for making it. I’m going to subscribe. Does anyone have ideas of jobs that I might be able to sit at least some of the time? I’m applying to banks so far although I’m not sure if I’ll be able to sit. I use a cane and I’m really looking for work. I’m in my early twenties struggling with finding a job that might be able to accommodate this. I hope this is okay to post this here. 🌻
Cashier should as an accommodation, but I agree maybe receptionist/admin would pay a bit more. And you'd be more guaranteed to be sitting cause cashier can busy lines, but you could sit in between.
Your child crying in the background is killing me. Can you hold him or her while your filming (& blur them out if necessary)? As a mom, it's very distressing hearing a baby cry & not be tended to...
