Fantastic wee radio. I'm in Northern Ireland, just outside Belfast. I've got to the west coast of the USA, with no problems, and that was Mobil. With 60 watts, it's amazing
@@jrichtruckincbtips Maybe. I’ve done a lot of research on it and have been into computers, smartphones, iPads and other tablets. Plus I’m getting my instrumentation degree right now and the process controllers have huge menu system. Very in-depth. So I’m more into the menu stuff. Also just incase you didn’t already know a regular USB cable won’t work on that back USB port. It’s actually wired different. Have to buy the cable from them. Propriety setup.
@@jrichtruckincbtips Came in yesterday and got it hooked up this morning. Been talking DX all day until the conditions fell off about an hour ago. I really like it!! At the moment I’m running a Wilson 1000 magnet mount. Swr on 1 is like 1.1 and on 40 about 1.2 with the whip all the way down. I may cut a little bit off it. Or just leave it alone. Checked with an external meter and surprisingly the internal Anytone is showing the same thing. I had the 2030+ finals added, voltage regulator upgraded and a few caps upgraded. Adjustable dead key from 2 to 20 watts and swings right at 125. Running the Astatic noise canceling mic at the moment. Been getting good reports. So far so good! Keep the videos coming. 881 Texas.
The anytone 6666 will blow the galaxy away. Especially on sideband. Stable on sideband when the galaxy is not. You will love the anytone 6666. Solid radio
Had my 9900 for a few years now (CRT), and on 10m the Rx/Tx out performs most other radios. 45w Fm 60w Ssb is plenty of power for Dx, i ise 20w locally. Only fault i found was the Microphone hole you talk into, its pin prick tiny. Now that there front cover with thw CRT M9 logo clips off the front from top to bottom, i cleaned out the Microphone and drilled a 5mm hole in its place, just making the mic hole larger and boy did it work wonders. I have the KPO power & Dynamic Mic's & an Avair Av-908 desk mic, thry all rock. Enjoyed the video, would recommend a Q6/9900 for anybodys shack or collection, take up very little room on the car dashboard too. 73's from The 407, Manchester Uk 👋
I have an AT6666 from Lesters Custom Truck Shop. It is the enhanced version. I love it . Im using it as a base radio . It talks local great and talking skip is like shooting fish in a barrel.,with only using the radio no helper. 514 Ontario Canada
Look forward to seeing the videos on this. I have researched somewhat and ended up getting a general lee with a Wilson 5000. Got the Wilson gumdrop mount for it as well and gonna be installing it this weekend. Really appreciate your set up videos, I am very new to this so wish me luck haha. Thanks again for the knowledge you put out.
I bought one last month and have found it to be one of the best. Clear crisp transmit audio and one of the quietest receivers I have ever had. I can completely recommend it for all serious 10 - 11 meter radio heads.
I got both the 6900n and 9900 (Q5&Q6), I went for the 6900n because old school, I didn't want new digital stuff because am old. But I upgraded to the 9900 & it's so simple to use, highly recommended 👍
The standard microphone is an M-9, it has a very small small mic hole. I pulled the front cover off and drilled a larger hole in the mic case, helped my audio 100% better, although I prefer a power microphone KPO. Great little radios not much if anything i can complain about tbh. In comparison with the Q5 it's small & packs a great punch, highly recommended. I use the European version CRT SS9900/SS6900N for the Ssb & Fm, and I have Dx'd across Europe on Fm, and across the pond daily on Ssb 38LSB. Oh 1 complaint, the power mic just distorts my audio on Ssb, so yeah they don't pair well with power mics, although on Fm no problems whatsoever. Great video buddy. 73's 407 Mcr Uk 👋
Electret (condencer) element microphone requires power from the radio. Most newer compact radios use this type. Most CB radios use a Dynamic Mic element that has a coil mounted to a plastic voice cone mounted to a small magnet. Some radios can use both types😳
Hi ya big fella! These are good radios…I have its sister the Stryker 447hpc2. If you get these set up properly they are 100 watt pep clean power. You can get an adapter and use a RK55 or Astatic 636 and it will sound so much better. It’s a menu driven radio which takes some use to getting use to. The antenna coax is a bitch to get too 🤦♂️. My buddy loves his! Good luck and keep us updated 🙌🏻🙌🏻.
God forbid you make a mistake and say 5 pin. The CB guru’s will attack? 🤣😂. Quad 6666 is a nice radio I think you will like the performance. I thought I seen your Galaxy posted for sale on one of them cb pages. You still wanting to move it??
Unlike a CB Radio, you need to have a license to operate a 10 Meter Radio. The reason for this is because the 10 Meter Radios are allowed to have more wattage/power output than CB Radios. According to FCC regulations, CB radios are allowed a max output of 4 watts.
Ordered one today. Been watching reviews and so far reviews have been positive.
It seems to be a real bang of the buck.
Been using my 6666 for 4.5 years and not one problem. Love it
Tell me whats the price of anatone 6666

I have one of those Anytones 6666’s on the way. Ordered it the other day. Been about 17 years since I was into radios. Can’t wait for it to come in.
Well, it could be a learning curve then

@@jrichtruckincbtips Your very welcome.
I'd probably call it a 10/12 meter radio that will work on CB frequencies.
Can it do 10/11 at the same time or is it one or the other?
I can't remember
They work great with a ranger SRA mic
No echo?
It does have echo, it's not adjustable externally, I'll touch on that in the next video.
Unfortunately it does have an echo ...
Thanks
good swesome cb radio
if you want to use a different mike , go in to the menu and change from electric mike to dynamic mike.
What's that under mate?, code in the menu for microphone?? what am I looking for. TIA

Why would you have a great radio for a cheap radio
Why is it cheap? And, I did say the Anytone was to go in my DD.

Who says we don't have a license? 🤷♂️
How they gonna find me
The FCC rarely cares unless you're clogging up the air or you're bleeding into public safety feeds. So
Not a cb radio at all.....
There is so much illegal stuff going on here................
Hahaha don't tell everyone 🤫
Speeding is illegal too but most people still drive above the speed limit.
Somebody's going to jail...
You have NO information here.
Yeah, it's just an unboxing and size comparison as the title says. Not sure what you were expecting.
