I bought the 6xx's and really like them. However, with open back they are not great for using around other people or doing things with external noise present. So, they serve their purpose well, but they have limits. So I just ordered the Meze's to fill that role of listening in noisy environments or not wanting to disturb people around me.
@frantotti9754 Im not the person you replied to, but I use the xduoo ta-22 with rca clear tops tubes. I only have the hd6xx and not the 99 noir. But the 99 noir can be run off even a phone so you don't need an expensive dac amp for that
Great review, thank you! I was a bit confused by the missing parts near the end (from 14:13), but I suppose you've already said everything important before that, so it's not a big deal.
If choose Sennheiser, you will never go wrong with it, It is known as the one of top sound engineering and audio production in the world. every conference definitely will include one of Sennheiser products like microphones or headphone or amplifiers . sometimes little bit pricy but worth every penny .
I've used normal DT990's but I haven't used the ones on Drop. The common thing I've noticed is that Drop's headphones are slightly different to their normal versions, maybe even slightly worse. However, it's very minor and typically worth the cost-savings. As for if the HiFiMans are better, I would say they sound much much better than the DT990's but also that they aren't as accurate. I would never use the HiFiMans to mix audio, but watching movies or playing games with them is a real treat!
Where did you get your info about binning at Drop? I have never heard that despite all the years. I can't even find any evidence of it searching now. While they no longer offer much of a savings on anything they never did sell good rejects as their own.
Wow, these are really noob friendly reviews. If I didn't watch dankpods, crinicle, etc. I would find this video really useful beyond just the specific headphones. Keep up the good work.
The title of your video was to question whether drop headphones were any good. Although you made reference to quality of sound of each headphone I don't think you directly reference the suppose subject of your video.

Which AMP or DAC do you use with ?

I've wound up selling a lot of these headphones but the Mezes are the ones I have always kept!
This was very helpful
do you know if the Beyer dynamic dt990 pro's are any different than their normal pairs that aren't bought off the drop website?
also are the hifmans better than the dt990's?
