In Texas, we would have invalid fair catch signal - not a foul but shut it down once caught.

Yep! NCAA rules just shuts this down. Thanks!

I agree with invalid and would expect the official to flag it. Invalid is just a 5-yard penalty and it puts a stop to that type of decision having to be made moving forward.

Poorly worded question Tim, sorry. Just like Mike said, it’s not a FC. It is an invalid FC signal however. Would I flag it? No but the play is dead.

Thanks Steve. If this was a test question, I would agree with you. But in this forum, it is actually a great question because it generates discussion and makes everyone think. As you know, the game of football is normally not cut and dry. That fact that Mike, and yourself, recognize that the answer to the poll question could be "no" but you would still stop the play shows that you are thinking at a high level. Thanks for your input Steve! Always appreciated!

Invalid FC signal all the way. Flag it because the rule is there for a reason. As officials we shouldn't be picking and choosing when to enforce a foul when it's so obvious. It doesn't even need to be debated.

Invalid signal. I'm seeing too many BJ's letting this go without a flag. The college mentality seems to be creeping into NFHS on this. Until they change the rule, flag it. We're putting K at a disadvantage when we don't.
