- This Category is a crowd favorite last MotoIR Practice Day for this year 2020 at Carmona race track last December 13. This is Session 4 of the stand-up scooter class and this time there are number of electric scooters participating. Its very entertaining to watch these small but terrible standup scoots battle for fastest lap and they were fast! track day participants session were timed By our Tag Heuer Timing System and broadcasted live on our Fb page.
We close the year 2020 with this Track day with full of hope that next year we can all go back to normal so until then, keep safe, like, comment and share! Happy Holidays everybody!

@RoyMcAvoy too bad Rion's not that fast and they couldnt get production correct. Lucky if you ever even get you order. Better looking into the Slaxx 920r. They're All lucky he wasnt their. Hes capable of 90mph+ proven on a track.
Great concept to promote e-scooters manufacturers. Just like they did in the old days to promote the early motor bike manufactures, and of course car manufactures. You should have an endurance version of this , where they change riders to test its limits.

Ive seen it all now. This is on par with wheelbarrow racing. Grown men on little scooters with full racing leathers trying to get their knee down on the apex of each corner. It put a smile on my face and my families. Any more odd racing you can post like emu racing in full leathers n lids

This is not all about speed though.
Dependant on the length of the race, the longer the race goes, the less advantage with the electric, as the battery will lose power! To be fair, there needs to be electric races and separate petrol engine races, however having a mixed race is more interesting. Of course, if the battery of the scooter can provide full power for the entire length of the race, with no effective drop off of power, then it is a fairer race!! Either way its a great sport!!
There are some 100volt scooters that will do 80 mile range in low speed.
So like 40/45 miles at full throttle.
They have come along way.
I just testrode like 10 electric scooters and spent 2,000 on one that will do what my built goped sport will do downhill, going uphill.

Solid state batteries will change that but we still need to change are supply. New Jersey for example, 90% of energy comes from nuclear or natural gas. So unless we want fossil fuel to fuel are dreams we need to make huge changes

well, You can not compare internal combustion engine to an EV. EV has instant torque and does not need to cycle the piston to propel the shaft to move the wheel.

I always choose a 40k pesos performance setup gas scooter with front and back suspension tubeless tires no flat all the way. I already tested mine Makati City to Pangasinan 214km VIA McArthur Highway. I only have two 20 minutes break each stops. My speed is 50kph - 70kph not too noisy as I have a silencer on my exhaust pipe. Always ride in day time to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way very fun ride.
It's taken this long to realize why all my friends laugh at me for riding a scooter

I lost three teeth from this type of face down crash. The center gravity is too high. You can get serious injury at even very low speed. My medical bill was high than a nice used Nissan 350z. I should have gotten the 350z in the first place.
😁This scooter racing is getting more popular. I'll like to put my own custom scooter that I made in this competition.
Imagine 92v and higher with mods
You seen how big a battery that would be. Kw motors too would be needed. If u change battery u get more range more speed but not much more speed u need to up the motors too and the control board that's capable of handling the current going from the battery to the motors. U will need bigger wires too so it let's more current through faster as we know thicker wire the more current it can deliver at faster speeds. Same applys for escooters if u wanted to build your own. I've seen kw motors being utilized before but u should see the size of the battery used to power them.its not only not practical it just doesn't look good either. But are you willing to sacrifice that for the speed and torque.
Higher everything. Then u need a control board that can handle it then the motors too if u change battery u might as well upgrade everything at the same time why not.

There should be multiple short races then added up points, it woul keep the racers together and be more exciting.

This is great! Scooter race is a great way to sell this PEV to the society. Just one comment though...the camera should stay on the race leader(s) 80% of the time.

🤔When riding these little speedy on the road, avoid potholes by any means necessary. I ran into it by going 35 mph. I lift up the front wheel just a little, and just let the back wheel hit and hope it won't break the frame. That's the only way to avoid flipping it.

How is the weight sorted out ? Riders need to be weighed and then have weights put onto the scooter so everyone weighs the same . Or have weight limit races 90kg 80kg 70kg 65kg

Torque po talaga ang lamang ng electric kesa petrol engine. Direct pa sa wheels ang power. Sa petrol engine nman dadaan pa ng clutch kung meron man o CVT ang power, so my slide pa yun bago Mkarating sa wheels ang power
Mas malakas pa torque ng 2000w scooter ko keysa ibang motor. Pero naabutan lang siyempre sa max speed.
