The difference with the Ultra games is that many players (not myself personally) prefer the ending plot of the base games, with Lusamine being depicted as an abusive mother, and being fused with Nihilego. Personally I think that should have still still been part of the story in Ultra, like it was in the anime

BDSP should've just been platinum remakes like how HGSS were crystal remakes.

Seriously, they could've done a bare minimum emulated port of Platinum with Pokemon Home support and it would've been better than the weird "faithful but not really" DP remasters.

I haven't thought about the 3rd version of pokemon games in years,mainly cause they stopped doing it,since DLC took over =__= my family think DLC is a waste of money so I'm barely allowed to play DLC's in pokemon,so sometimes I do miss the 3rd version of the games

Weird that they'd be cool with the 3rd versions but not DLC. There are cartridges with DLC on them but then you would literally be buying the same game twice, not just almost buying the same game twice. I don't know, if it makes you feel any better the Sword/Shield DLC kinda blows, better than the base game but not by much.

So um i think i prefer dlc to third versions but i hate and abhor that i have to buy the dlc for both games if have both if you scarlet and violet buying the dlc should unlock it for both. What i’d really prefer is more sequels since they allow for a little thing called character development something pokemon characters often lack

I prefer 3rd versions more than DLC. DLC doesn’t fix the issues of the base game (looking at you Scarlet and Violet). While 3rd versions are usually the definitive edition of that generation.
