  • Yippie yeah! OPZ has now a sampling mode! And it's fun fun fun fun.
    I release music under the name POSH OKAPI. It's available on all major streaming platforms.
    This tutorial is a walk through (almost) all sampling features.
    Unfortunately my camera died while recording the loop in/loop out function for samples in the synth group :(
    1. Acces parameter page 2 by pressing the shift button
    2. The green dial now sets the start of the loop
    3. The blue dial sets the end of it
    If you hold a keyboard button now this loop section will be played back infinitely
    Have fun!

    Pretty great. Wish the 'record' worked like a toggle though. I want both my hands! Guess it's how the KO works too.

    love your videoes, i was wondering; let's say you weren't happy with the fingersnap recording, but would like to keep all of the other percussive sounds- do you have to clear the whole bank to record the fingersnap again, or do you 'earn' time by fine chopping the other samples (if you maxed out the 12 seconds initially)?

      I think you will have to clear the whole bank and record everything from the top. But I'm not 100% sure and I can not try it since I had to sell my opz.

    I'm curious: did you slice the usb c cable off from the video or it was wirelessly connected? Thank you

    Hey thanks so much for this video. In the time at the end (which is sick btw) did you pitch up and down individual triggers of the space odyssy sample? I can imagine it’s possible but a little tricky? Any advice? Do you go into the + / - number pitch shift or just stay with the 30 each way of original pitch?
    Wow if that makes sense. Thanks a lot

      In synth sample mode, after you get it set up you just use the keys and it pitches around for you

  • @UncleBoogieRF

    So the synth sampling, is that 6 seconds per bank or in total? I guess what I’m asking is what the maximum overall length you can have for synth samples is? Is it like the PO33 where you sample to different slots, and overall there’s about 25 seconds of space? I hope this makes sense. Looking at getting an OP-Z and finding specifics on the sampling is hard due to it being a new capability.

      I am 99% sure that it is 6 seconds per bank. And since you have 4 synth tracks with each at minimum 4 empty banks on default I think it is enough time.
      Sorry for the late response...

    are you able to loop single cycle wave forms to create a synth voice like on the Digitakt?

    • @knobsknobsknobs8658
      @knobsknobsknobs8658  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure about this. Maybe it is possible somehow but definitely not as comfortable as with the Digitakt.

      @@knobsknobsknobs8658 I'll be purchasing either this with the Oplab module or the Digitakt soon, as I want to sequence external gear as well. I'm really torn between the two devices... Thanks for the response.

      I recently got a Digitakt and got to admit that I like the workflow more and am now thinking about selling the op-1. But there are pros and cons for both devices. Maybe I will make a comparison video soon.

    What's the devide to display the wave form? Is there a way to separate notes without dialing them all?

    I don’t understand how exactly works the sampling digitally, if i want to sample something from my PC how am i gonna send the audio to the OP-Z thru USB?

    • @knobsknobsknobs8658
      @knobsknobsknobs8658  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      After you have connected the OPZ to your computer, go to the audio settings of your computer. There must be a menu in which you can select the output device of your audio (your speakers by default). One of the options should be named OPZ. Select it, save settings if necessary and close the window. Now all your computer sound is send to the OPZ and can only be heard via the loudspeaker (or headphone jack) of the OPZ when toggling on prelistening in sample mode.
      It worked perfectly on Mac but I don't know about Windows... If it doesn't work pls tell me which OS you use.
