Sad to think that the Empire did this to the remaining clone troopers, though not surprising they would do such a thing. I would love if this was the premise for The Bad Batch series though.
@The Johnnie Walker doubtful - the cloners were very strict on how they did things - if you'll remember they do show some kind of kind heartedness towards the clones to a degree but their emotions are very limited visually, I have a feeling they cared about the clones in the way their species could and that's about it nothing weird like Cloud Atlas and cloned asian girls drinking other asian girls who got turned into bubbles lol
I think it would be a very limited number of clones put into this program. There are millions of clones and Dark Troopers have never been that prevalent. The question still remains however, what they did with all of those clones. Personally I believe they were all shipped out to the unknown regions to take it over, where Thrawn defected to the Empire to move up through the ranks to protect his home world.
Star Wars often chooses to represent darkness with cybernetics. They’re wounds, which in mythology represent mental wounds and flaws. Luke loses his arm and it serves as a reminder of the darkness within himself. Anakin loses his arm and it slowly overtakes him.
They actually didn't want to cyberize Anakin they didn't have a choice his body was ruined beyond use. The clones merely were no longer of use so they used them as tools.
Actually in the expanded universe some of the novels referred to the clones having the acceleration processed reversed so that the clones could age normally. Still their life span was drastically cut short. Look to some of the clones in Star Wars Rebels such as Rex, Gregor, & Wolffe. If the accelerated aging process had been left in tack the troopers would have died long before they became old.
Rebels was shortly before Rogue One and A New Hope. That puts it about 20 years after the Clone Wars. Clones fighting in the CW would have been physiologically around 20 years old. 20 + (20 * 2) = 60, which was somewhere around the age I'd have guessed the clones were in those episodes... so it doesn't seem like they did get a treatment to reverse the accelerated aging.
Ah thank you 🙏 I was just wandering about that. Couldn’t remember how they did it so they survived longer. Obviously looking at Rex you could tell something changed.
Probably in the first batch of clones they were probably normal but after thar maybe different cause Rex was part of the first batch of clones, so that were the case then after the first batch that they chose to accelerate the growth process, i know this because he also served in the first battle of the clone wars, the battle of geonosis.
I'm watching this after the Bad Batch is already airing and it's unfortunately not the case but I do think that this concept would have been a lot cooler and way more interesting
In my opinion the Bad Batch story was just wonky adventures stringed together, with a tiny bit of interesting plot sprinkled in to get us to continue watching. I am sort of dissapointed, and the dialogue has been so weird often. The figures are all charicatures of themselves, and they act, as if they're just one person. A lot of missed oppurtunities, unfortunatly.
I have a feeling the theory this video is presenting, will show up in season two. Either it would be hinted at early on in the season and showed around the middle of it, or will show up towards the end in a climatic battle. But this depends on how many episodes are made for the season, and what they are going to do with the story.
I'm also watching this video after watching Season 1 of The Bad Batch. While the reason they went rogue isn't what the video describes, it could be something we see in the next seasons.

Dooku's saber is beautiful and I love the design for his style. That being said I still love Revan's saber. Well one of them to be specific. Not the handle itself but the blade as it was the crystal that took on the aspects of his split between the light and dark sides of the force. It was the balance of the blue and red light saber. It was a purple blade before Mace Windu had one. Then there is Ahsoka Tano's double white bladed saber and shoto. The concept of purifying a corrupted crystal is beautiful.

Luke’s first saber. His father’s saber. I was 5 yo and it was the 70’s. The blue contrast against the browns and tans of Obi Wan’s hut and the blacks and greys of the Millenium Falcon. It just blew my mind! A laser sword, how cool! ...and I love the sound of that saber as well!
I’m probably way too late here but I want to gush about Darth Vader’s lightsaber. Yes it was just a bigger and beefier version of his old Jedi saber with a built up grip and emitter. It didn’t have the simple elegance of Obi-Wan’s or Qui-Gonn’s blades. It didn’t have the finesse or style of Dooku’s or even the blinged out arrogance of Palpatine’s. But at the end of the day it was a brutal and devastating warrior’s weapon capable of causing a lot of terror in the hands of it’s equally brutal and devastating owner.
I love the dark saber because it’s unique and truly belongs to the mandalorians, giving the leader of death watch a feeling of strength and power which boosted the level of threat him and his team had against their opponents
Ahsoka Tano with her white lightsabers would be my favourite! The story of her obtaining the kyber crystals from an inquisitor she killed, which were red crystals until she purified them with the force to turn them white. The curved hilts were constructed from pieces of scrap metal too and look awesome!
I have always be a fan of Qui-Gon Jinn's lightsaber. It reminds me of the wrappings that can be found on a katana. It appearance is simplistic yet strong.
I love Revan’s purple Jedi blade. The elegant craft of the hilt is magnificent, and the subtle menace of the spikes foreshadows his fall to the dark side. Definite fanboy here
I love Vader's Saber. His design was reminiscent of his old saber he used shortly before his fall with some modifications made to it. That and I've also always been a huge Vader fan and my favorite color is red.
I’ve always liked Dooku’s saber, its was the first time in the films that a lightsaber looked truly customised and fitting of the character (the sophistication and opulence) and their fighting style. (Dath Maul’s still looked like a very functional weapon, but didn’t show off his personality).
It does, the bo staff is the weapon of a monk who doesn't like to hurt anybody. Darth maul is pure evil trained in martial monk gong fu, and his bo staff isn't a less than lethal weapon of peace, it's a blood red flaming Sabre meant to mercilessly kill anyone while he laughs and smiles. It represents his sense of humor and his personality very well.. its not a functional weapon, it is unwieldy and short ranged and extremely dangerous to the user
I’m an old school Yoda fan. Clean, simplistic and tactically adaptable. Yoda used it to such an amazing effect as a master, it’s long been my favourite.
Thanks for this opportunity. Jedi Knight Revan/Darth Revan. His saber glows purple because he knew how to balance the dark as well as the light side of the force and his blade would reflect this close relationship with his kyber crystal and the force by glowing purple.
Mace windus lightsaber. According to legends he got from a special mission rather then simply going to ilum. Mace asked to go by himself to hurikane to get a crystal through more of a challenge. He was given it from one of the locals after repairing one of their rock bodies. Mace also created a new lightsaber handle design for the crystal to be held in. This handle as also showed us a little about maces character. His lightsaber was unique in design, Crystal's, and shows us some interesting qualities of mace.
Isn't it because he is on both light and dark side of the force balanced and using the two sides. Some have said this is why he's dismissive towards anakin because he believed he was the true chosen one and this led to the actions that came after because he wanted to be the one to destroy the sith, if this isn't cannon it would still add more depth to his character
@@beaumcloughlin8753 Mace didnt trust anakin because the potential danger he could see in him with shatterpoint to join the darkside. Also anakin disobeyed the council often and had even tortured some sepratists.
I might to late for this but Luke's ROTJ Lightsaber and that's a tough call but it's the one I remember from my earliest days of childhood and has always held a soft spot for me. It's the story behind it, it's the design, the color, and the character that wields it. Luke's lightsaber from return of the jedi is one of the most Iconic Lightsabers in the the whole series next to the graflex of course but over all it's sentimental value as well as the saber itself to me makes it by far my favorite Lightsaber. Spot number 2 would be Darth Maul ;)
Ezra Bridger's first lightsaber. As a maker, I just really love how it looked home made. The surprisingly practical blaster was a cool addition too. It was just a neat idea all around.
Ironically coming off from Warframe Grendel sucks far worse than any of these Clones. It’s the good kind of Vacuum Cleaner sucking though. 😂 Just give him range and watch him clear the room of enemies!
@The Johnnie Walker kaminoans were expert in genetics and growing food and altering it to suit their environment. There is a possibility of cannibalism but unlikely.
@The Johnnie Walker what do you mean there is no room, the whole planet has those above water cities, every one of them specialising in different things.
Qui Gon has my favorite light saber. I like how it was a mix of black and silver. Same for Obi-wans first lightsaber. It shows that even when Obi-wan was Padawan Qui-gon was teaching the balanced force. Not just the lightsides view. Something that Luke would go on to teach, in legends anyway. He taught a balance of the force, and Qui Gon"s saber reflects that.
I'm torn between Dooku's fencing saber, because of how elegant it looks, and Cal Kestis' broken saber, because of the broken end, the emitter, and the grip. It just seems to fit his story so well.
My personal favorite is Satele Shan, from Star Wars: The Old Republic online game. A twinblade, beautifully etched lines in the hilt, and she's also a favorite character for a couple reasons, such as: her ability to stop Malgus's blade with a shield of the Force in the palm of her hand, and the fact that she is voiced by Jennifer Hale, who, in my mind I will always think of as Commander Shepard from the Mass Effect series.
I love mace windu’s saber, I know it’s a very basic pick, but not only do I love how his blade is purple, I love the way it was built. I think it has a nice shape to it and I love it’s golden color.
I'm a fan of curved hilt sabers. I used to fence when I was a kid. I have an earlier edition Kyberlight. It's definitely a great piece. I'd be curious to see what turning two of them into a staff would be like.
lightsabers, if they really have a weightless blade, seem like theyd really be fencing weapons. the standoff and the ability to flick a wrist and burn someones face seems much faster than a two handed slice
It’s had many owners, but was created by Tarre Visla- the Dark Saber. I mean, besides just looking badass, it’s got a very unique and interesting lore.
It always cracks me up when in episode 2 they mention a million clones and another million on the way as though it were a massive number on a galactic scale that would make a huge difference. In ww2 there were millions of soldiers needed on both sides just for a war front on one continent on earth.
It's the same with many stories these days, people confuse small combat missions with a full scale war. Just look at how many troops are in Syria, Afghanistan, or sadly Ukraine. Technologies only help to take a are, it doesn't secure or conquer it.
@@simonfernandes6809 out of universe, yes. In universe, it’s because Mace walks a fine line between the light and dark sides of the force. Hence the combination of Sith and Jedi lightsaber colors to creat purple.
I love Ezra Bridger's lightsaber blaster. I was a bit disappointed when Disney abandoned the concept with his second blade. I also really like the Darksabre, with its history and unique design.
Personally I feel like Ezra's new saber reflects his growth. He said himself that he wasn't confident in his swordplay, so he made his saber-blaster hybrid to compensate. By season three he would definitely have trained enough to be competent enough to take on the stormtroopers (not too hard, given half to bolts would be nowhere near him lol
The bare bones design of Galen Marek’s saber is one of my favorites. Galen took the classic look of Anakin’s/Vader’s saber and did his best to remake it with the scraps he had. Rugged, simple, but effective!
Purely based on personal preference, I've always loved Qui Gon's even though it's such a simple design. Duku's would be my 2nd favorite because of it's unique design.
Count Dooku's light saber is my favourite. I always found it to be the most interesting saber without seeming Gimmicky. One of my favourite parts of the prequels/clone wars was watching the ease with which he used that blade to fight off consistently 2 attackers.
I know it’s new, but I really like Cal Kestis’ broken saber. It speaks to his story, his love for his master, having to hide his Jedi nature, and having to build off of trauma to create a legacy for himself.
Exar Kun has my favorite lightsaber because of his unique hilt having two blue blades even though it's the length of a standard hilt. He was considered a very powerful duelist and Sith Lord.
@@carebloodlaevathein6732 It was created by a jedi that was from Mandalore, it was stolen from the temple later, not sure how much later but probably sometime after his death. Unless it was changed, I'm not sure what is canon anymore.
Jaro Tapal, Always the saber hilt I kept throughout fallen order, I love the sleek design and how eventually it is (at least in my canon) kept as one of the hilt sides of Cal Kestis to go forward honouring his master who protected him.
While I’m not a huge fan of Pong Krell as a character for the way he treats the clones, I love his sabers for two reasons. One, the sound they make when wielded as a pair. It feels like the vast majority of lightsabers have a higher pitched humming sound, which I’ve gotten so use to where I just don’t like it much, anymore. When Krell activated his sabers against the clones after he was found out, I couldn’t get over the noise. Two, they fit his frame. As small of a detail as some may think it is, I always appreciated how an individual would fit their lightsaber/lightsabers to their specific needs. Like Yoda with his smaller Shoto lightsaber, or Darth Maul with his double-bladed lightsaber, to fit his more aggressive approach to combat.
Well, the Dark Trooper project... Well, I can see the Empire eventually doing this. I think the white models and the black ones used by Rebels are basically droids, and no matter how good a droid can be, its limited to its programming. In Legends, the Dark Trooper was basically injured Clones who were cybernetically healed, but to make them effective warriors and no longer the Republic, they did the Robocop upgrade. Eventually they were replaced by Droids and upgraded into a droid and a suit. Now Cannon, I could see that the white Dark Troopers as droid prototypes, as it was Republic turning Empire era moment. The Republic/Empire attempt at their own version of B2 Battle Droids. With no moral resistance in effect anymore. I could eventually see older Clones still under the influence of that brain chip being turned into cyborgs, even as cyborgs their brains will continue to age, no replacement clones, and those lost during the Rebellion era. Eventually I could see they moving towards replacing with complete droids, who were programmed to with battlefield collected data from Clone Dark Trooper cyborgs. Now the real question, will this ever be released or explored completely. As Disney is unstable grounds. The general population is enraged with Disney, the owners of Star Wars.
It's not just the accelerated aging, that was an issue. It was also the lack of fresh DNA samples from Jango Fett, which they needed for some reason, hence the quality of clones was slowly deteriorating with each batch. That was another big reason, why they were phased out.
The story of the clones is easily on the running for the best in Star Wars. My God the topics they are faced with are some of the heaviest and most real of the human condition.
I like to think that the clones were phased out not only due to their aging - as I imagine they could've made more or even made more like Boba that age normally - but also because the empire fully know how the clones can be turned against those that they serve.
The Clones were an actual effective army... The Storm Troopers are portrayed as completely useless targets for the resistance. They can shoot, fight or think. And what's the point of the armor? It can't even stop a blaster shot...
I’m so torn because I love Ahsoka’s rebels sabers. Their clean design is so cool and it helps that her blade color is pretty unique in canon. But I also love Leia’s saber design from the rise of Skywalker. The gold and silver with a blue blade it just awesome and it’s definitely one of my top sabers.
My favourite Saber was used by many and no I'm not talking about the Skywalker saber I'm talking about the Inquisitor saber I love how it automatically spins and one handed dual blade
My favorite lightsaber is the one that Cal Kestis forges over the course of Jedi Fallen Order. Not only can the wielder use it as a single blade or a saber staff, but the staff can be disconnected to be used as two single blades. It's all about options!
My favorite was always Luke's green saber from RotJ. He may have wielded his father's saber before, but the green one was *his* lightsaber, and symbolized his passage from a gifted but brash initiate to a true, focused Jedi. (I know it's too late for the contest, just figured I'd add to the record!)

I’ve always liked Dooku’s saber, its was the first time in the films that a lightsaber looked truly customised and fitting of the character (the sophistication and opulence) and their fighting style. (Dath Maul’s still looked like a very functional weapon, but didn’t show off his personality).
I always thought that it symbolised his decadence.
@@beaumcloughlin8753 no mace windu is only a aligned with the lightside
@@beaumcloughlin8753 he was dismissive to anakin because he sensed the darkside in anakin
This is crazy because now with Kenobi out, we see that some clones went on to be homeless and beggars, surprisingly able to keep their armor as well.
It really does suck to be a clone huh?
Ironically coming off from Warframe Grendel sucks far worse than any of these Clones. It’s the good kind of Vacuum Cleaner sucking though. 😂
Just give him range and watch him clear the room of enemies!
No
@The Johnnie Walker kaminoans were expert in genetics and growing food and altering it to suit their environment. There is a possibility of cannibalism but unlikely.
@The Johnnie Walker what do you mean there is no room, the whole planet has those above water cities, every one of them specialising in different things.
@The Johnnie Walker okej well send me the link if it is online since i never heard abt that jn star wars but anyways thank you kn advance
When you’re watching this after the Bad Batch came out and know the white dark troopers are just “training” droids LOL
As someone who loves purple, Mace Windu's lightsaber is a draw for me.
Favorite lightsaber...the Inquisitors (Rebel series) loved how it spun, separated, just overall cool
Revan has my fav lightsaber! I love the menacing look!
I love mace windu’s saber, I know it’s a very basic pick, but not only do I love how his blade is purple, I love the way it was built. I think it has a nice shape to it and I love it’s golden color.
The Duel White Fulcrum Sabers. A beautiful weapon used by a beautiful character!
Of course it has be Obi Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber; “an elegant weapon; for a more civilized age”
Wasn't that quote from Obi Wan actually when he's talking about Anakins lightsaber to Luke for the first time?
@@Azoth5876 no, It’s a quote from Star Wars Republic Commando when Delta 38 found a saber on the Prosecutor - Deltas first “Home”.
@@gavinrodgers6756 not to be nitpicky, but Delta says 'for a more civilised time'. The quote above with 'civilised age' is from Kenobi in A New Hope.
Societies with advanced technology rely on small & tactical manpower
It's the same with many stories these days, people confuse small combat missions with a full scale war. Just look at how many troops are in Syria, Afghanistan, or sadly Ukraine. Technologies only help to take a are, it doesn't secure or conquer it.
*units, they don’t say soldiers. Could be 2 million squads, 2 million platoons, hell, could have been 2 million legions
Heck, in the American Civil War, generally considered -correctly- much smaller than WW2, there were multiple millions fighting. All only in the US.
My favorite saber and saber wielder has to be Mace Windu with his amethyst-colored lightsaber.
Me too. Very Unique Lightsaber
Samuel Jackson told George Lucas that he wanted Mace Windu to have a purple lightsaber. George agreed.
And that's why Mace has his unique lightsaber!
Yeah, the first 2 seasons of rebels had more original and unique creations in the character's style.
The Darksaber wielded by Darth Maul is my favorite for its sheer badassery.
My favorite Sabers are Ashoka's from Clone Wars. Those sabers went through so many changes just as Ahsoka did.
Loved the guardian jedi blades that connected at the ends, lived the amber or light orange color too.
Din Djarin, the Darksaber
Cause it’s black and the only one of its kind
It was forged to be used against jedi by the ancient mandalorian
@@beaumcloughlin8753 I thought it was stolen from the jedi temple in ancient times by Mandalore the First(?)?
@@carebloodlaevathein6732
It was someone from Clan Vizsla.
@@carebloodlaevathein6732 It was created by a jedi that was from Mandalore, it was stolen from the temple later, not sure how much later but probably sometime after his death. Unless it was changed, I'm not sure what is canon anymore.
The droids you reference in bad batch and rebels are DT series sentry droids.
Jaro Tapal,
Always the saber hilt I kept throughout fallen order,
I love the sleek design and how eventually it is (at least in my canon) kept as one of the hilt sides of Cal Kestis to go forward honouring his master who protected him.
I like Asajj's yellow lightsaber since yellow was very rare outside of the temple guards, especially as a single bladed lightsaber.
I always liked Kit Fisto’s lightsaber. There’s something so appealing about the simplistic design
My favorite blade is Darth Mauls. I love the duel sided saber and its looks amazing with him, a perfect blade for a great sith lord.
I’ve always been a fan of both Luke’s green saber or Obi Wan’s final saber. They’re both so simple and rugged looking.
It's not just the accelerated aging, that was an issue. It was also the lack of fresh DNA samples from Jango Fett, which they needed for some reason, hence the quality of clones was slowly deteriorating with each batch.
That was another big reason, why they were phased out.
I'm intrigued by stellan gios saber. Making kylo's look like a fully functional saber instead of needing vents.
The story of the clones is easily on the running for the best in Star Wars. My God the topics they are faced with are some of the heaviest and most real of the human condition.
My favorite saber is still mace windus, his hilt and the color are just magnificent
My favorite lightsaber would have to be Mace Windu's. He's just a badass and deserved a unique lightsaber to reflect that.
Qui gons lightsaber is my favorite. the black metal and simplicity looks like it’d be nice to hold
A bit of a cliché I think but I love Darth Maul's lightsaber. The double blade just looks so badass and the weapon was very rare.
Giving that Crosshair seems to be a loyal little lad I wonder if he will be the first Dark Trooper we see
While definitely not the best looking, I really like the kyber saber from The Freemaker Adventures. It is super powerful and can cut moons in half.
My favorite light-saber is Dokus light-saber because it's unique and I love the count. His style, his mentality and his style of fighting
Personally, though many lightsabers are very cool, I like Palpatines a lot, because it's very unique and is only shown once ever.
I love count Dooku as well, his light saber fight is well know in Star Wars , Christopher Lee was one of the well know duelist in this Century
My favorite lightsaber is the one that Cal Kestis forges over the course of Jedi Fallen Order. Not only can the wielder use it as a single blade or a saber staff, but the staff can be disconnected to be used as two single blades. It's all about options!
Honestly I really love Gungi's saber. It's simple, unique, a good hand-and-a-half design, and it's green. XD A close second to Sifo Dyas, though
My fav saber has to be Dooku’s pair, comfortable angled grips and of course deadly effective.
Palpatine's lightsabers.I love how palpatine useing them
That would be an awesome story. A really worthy Clone Wars story. Now that you've said it, I'm wondering if they'll actually go that direction.
