We just finished our WHW journey yesterday in eight days. Amazing that you did from near Bridge of Orchy to Glen Nevis in one go. That's insane to me. Well done... I hit my limit at about 15 miles.
Wonderful video. I had to cut my time here short last year due to food poisoning, We're all booked to go back in May albeit b&b's this time taking my partner along with me. Thanks for sharing
@pipes-hikes lost 2 stone in 4 days and decided to call it a day at glencoe mountain resort. Literally had nothing left. Was poorly for about 4 weeks. Its definitely opened my eyes for ldw and wild camping. Can't wait to get back
We’ll done amazing mileage covered brought back some lovely memories and aches from our trip end of March beginning of April didn’t have the midges then but we were lucky with the weather, it’s a great feeling or achievement sitting next to the statue in Fort William but we took eight days well done again and thanks for the memories. That drone shot of devils staircase was awesome.
What a fantastic film of your WHW journey. Absolutely brilliant photography, filming and commentary, I really enjoyed your film it was so clear the filming was stunning. Well done on your mileage per day, it’s double what I can do. I will be walking the WHW solo and camping towards the end of May this year 2024, my first long distance hike, you’re film certainly helped me with my planning and research, thank you, well done and all the best, take care. 🍻👍👍👍
Thank you for the comment. I’m no pro, but do enjoy making the films so always pleasing to receive positive feedback. Best of luck with the trail. It can be tough if you’re carrying all your kit so keep the pack as light as possible and take plenty of rest stops to give your shoulders a break. Hope you enjoy it, there’s some great scenery along the way, certainly in the second half of it ⛰️
One of the best WHW videos I've seen. I actually camped at the Victoria bridge site you looked at, in the morning I awoke to a red deer stag about 6 feet from the tent! 4 days to Glen Nevis is insane. ATB Mark.
Thanks Mark. Very kind words. I would have been quite content at the Vitoria bridge site I think, but glad now that I pushed on to the next spot. Always good to see the deer early in the morning.
Great video Anthony, loved watching it. The amount of mileage you put in, plus all that elevation is incredible, well done. As you know, I do hope to walk the WHW one day, but it will certainly take me a lot longer than it did you!
Phew we thought the mileage you covered every day was impressive. Loved the drone footage, particularly alongside the Loch and doing up the Devils Staircase.
Thank you. Appreciate the comment, I wish I’d got more drone footage but a lot of the time it wasn’t possible die to tree cover and I don’t like to fly it too much in busy areas as don’t want to upset other walkers. That and there’s only so much you can get when you’re not staying in B&B’s to charge batteries I suppose👍🏼
Another LDW bagged, well done Anthony. Enjoyed watching the first half of this, will finish tomorrow. Do you think this walk would be good (or better) in the autumn? We have some friends here who have Scottish lineage ... maybe we'll do this one day? 🤔
Apologies Dan I somehow missed your comment. I see no reason why not to go for it in the autumn, my only worry would be if the rocky paths beside Loch Lomond got slippy in damper conditions. The scenery will be great year round though I would think.
Buachaille Etive Mor is the collective name for the ridge there. Stob Dearg is the front pyramid-like mountain which you see best while walking the West Highland Way, beyond it is Stob na Doire, Stob Coire Altruim and Stob na Broige, all part of the Buachaille Etive Mor. The ridge is just short of 5 miles long and is a truly fantastic walk. I walked this mountain ridge loop a few days before walking the WHW. There is a video of it on my channel 👍🏼 Find more info if you follow this link and scroll down, it will tell you the four mountains and their heights etc en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buachaille_Etive_Mòr
Understood. I enjoy making the videos and sharing with the world but I’m a single parent and work full time. I spend enough time editing photos and videos among other hobbies so sometimes something has to give. Creating community posts on TH-cam is, for now at least, one of them things. If I happen to find some time and think about TH-cam, I may share something at some point 👍🏼
😂 😂 there’s always one. I was in Scotland so had to go with a Scottish song that semi resonated with the topic of walking in a vast land. No way I was going with The Proclaimers ‘I’m Gonna be (500 Miles)’ so had to be Big Country… can’t please everyone. Thanks though 👌🏼
Thank you kindly for the comment, much appreciated. I just try to show what I would like to see really. Ideally I try to make it more about the scenery than my face 😂
Thank you for taking us with you on your WHW-Adventure.
What a nice intro music... it blew me of my chair
Great video Anthony. You give such good overviews.
Apologies I must have somehow missed your comment at the time. Thanks so much for it though, means a lot 👍🏼

Thanks for the comment Lee. Sorry you had to cut it short but I guess a great excuse to go back again. Best of luck to you both.

@@leeharbord6227 wise decision by the sounds of it. Never nice to have to give up but definitely the sensible option if it gets to that stage.
@pipes-hikes these trails are always here to tackle another day. Always best to use your head.
@@leeharbord6227 absolutely 👍🏼
