The way the he disarms the polearm at the end is gold. In the right hands this was a very defensive counter weapon. Designed to disarm or trip an armored samurai or anyone for that matter.
Simply amazing.
Gave me chills watching him swing that around- amazing stuff
its called a kusarigama
@@coruptified7380 Im pretty sure he knows
Are you a practitioner?
Just heard about these and HAD to look up a demonstration
Can't wait to see the kids practice this with the jumprope and mop handle.
So disrespectful 😒
But I am a warrior with a mop/broom handle.
The bo staff is my favorite weapon.
For parkor acrobatics its just amazing how the kicks and versatility is enhanced. In addition to the range and force multiplying it does.
The staff and kusarigama are just so amazing.
So that’s what grandpa had in his draws all those years
Wow! That wad awesome.
Strange, I thought the chain was supposed to traditionally be attached to the bottom of the kama, and you would hold part of the chain and swing the weight while you used the kama in your other hand. Kinda weird seeing one with the chain and weight attached to the top and the entire thing being used in one hand.
honestly makes more sense that way, as much as it is dangerous af weapon, its not immune to chain being gabbed or hooked on something potentially disarming you.
The kusarigama seems like it was really op idk how you would counter that.
Plate armor a shield or longer weapon usually. If you can eat the momentum of the chain, or absorb the impact, the weapon just turns into a bound scythe/pointy axe. Which in its own right is still strong. But a short spear or staff user in plate would strike horizontally through the motion then push forward with either the butt end if the weapon, a dagger, or a shield bash. This would bind the chain on the weapon, wrench the chained weapon aside, and then force a scythe vs off hand trade.
4:39 Hooo!
Dangerous but japanese seiko like perfection in kasuriguama.
Stone breathing ! 💥 🤩
Wrong weapon bozo
"Once you break the distance"
Ok we need Shinobi to do this
They already did. 😎
In the 2nd demonstration, the kusarigama has no chain, is it still called kusarigama?
I think it is just "kama". If I'm not wrong, "kusarigama" is literally "chain (kusari)-sickle (g/kama)".
Hot damn!
Wheres xu Xiao Don at when you need him
Bad A__ Demo!
