    congratulations, that machine is awesome, here in Colombia i worked in a company where posts and boards are made from recycled plastic, the machines retain the same concept as yours. molding is done by extrusion and then cooling by immersion in water. greetings.

    I think this is amazing.
    As a 3d printing company this would be a great benefit to anyone doing printing or making.
    It's important we start to reduce the plastic waste.
    And now with the vast filament selection. And mainly useless trinkets printed that are thrown away. We can now focus on recycling all of this

If you can, tell me how much will be and shipped to Georgia USA. Thanks Julio

    In reality, how much would this project take to complete, if you didn't have the tools or shop equipment to produce this machine?

    • @firstmkb
      @firstmkb 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      R. Cast what tools don't you have? With patience, you can use a manual drill, although they're dirt cheap used. The angle grinder saves a lot of time, but you could use a hacksaw, drill, and sandpaper. Instead of welding, I'd use sheet metal screws on the hopper and bolts on the frame. You can buy pipe already threaded. The extrusion screw (ship auger bit) would be a lot of work to file, or you could look at used meat grinders.
      Tools are an a monetary investment to save time & creativity. If you Google Gingery, he wrote a series of books on building a metal-working shop starting with a coal forge and scrap aluminum. There are TH-cam videos of people doing this, although it takes a lot of time.

    Could you use this method to do large injection molds? And if it has an issue of cooling down to quick just use a heated mold?

    • @heavyweather
      @heavyweather 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alpha Nerd this is too slow. It is for extruding filament. Precious Plastic got another machine for injection molding. It's even easier to built...the thing nit so easy are the molds. larger molds are even more complicated.

    • @AlphaNerd132
      @AlphaNerd132 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      well im thinking with his method of injection molding, you only have one plunge. Unelss you keep the whole mold at liquid temp.

    • @heavyweather
      @heavyweather 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alpha Nerd with an extrusion molder you need a higher capacity to continuously melt a given amount of material while keeping the injection rate high.
      How big a part are you trying to mold? Injection molding tools are rather sofisticated including cooling and heating For bigger parts like Bobby cars (HDPE) other techniques are used. they are made from hoses and blown up in the tool.
