It actually is faster! You do 4 rows at a time instead of one 😂 I tried and it took me less than 2 hours to complete (I had never tried hand knitting and I am really slow with normal knitting! 😅 )
Thank you so much for this video! I did this with 2 thin yarn and I think it turned out really well. I made some things up on my own and some twists and I really like my new hat! And I'm only ten! Thanks
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Knitting/Crocheting in general is super hard for me, but this tutorial is so easy to follow! I used a semi thick, but thinner yarn and it’s super thick and cozy. Currently in the process of closing the top of the beanie. It’s going to be a gift for my husband! Can’t wait to make many more.
Thank you so much! I was taught to finger knit a rope as a child, but never taught to finger knit anything else. Halfway through my hat so far and I’m thrilled to be able to make this! Great job filming and editing!
I made this yesterday first time and ended up well, i used thin wool but im making another one underneath of it to be extra warm :3, thank you for the idea ! Also made a pompom out of wool by turning it into a flower!! Thank you
I made this and it came out excellent :D I wore it to school and everyone was fascinated- i told them i got it from you owo Lovely beanie! And another way i did it was with the fork- fork’s are small, but it actually came out great
Thank you for this video. My 14 year old daughter and I decided to try this as a project. She got hers right on the first try. I however.... lol, took me 5 times. Lucky number 5. Mine kind of looks like a Christmas tree, but I will keep practicing until I get it right. Thanks again. This was fun. :-)
If anyone can't find yarn that is chunky then just type into TH-cam 'how to make wool thicker' the first video that pops up at the top is a total lifesaver. Good tutorial
kaylee waggoner I didn't know what you meant cuz I go through the comments before I make stuff and now I know what you mean now I have no fingers on my left hand but it was worth it
This is so cool! I am left handed and dyslexic so being able to read the directions at the same time the video slowly showed how to do it was great! Thank you so much for doing it this way!! I look forward to making one. :-)
I tried this 5 times and still can’t do it it keeps turning into a pot holder. I’ll try again tomorrow after I get more yarn. But hey at least I got lots of pot holders
Eeeeeek thank you! The yarn I used was too thin so I made a scarf using thing technique. For Christmas, I’m going to send a bunch of hand-knitted scarves along with cards to a nursing home because I know there are a lot of people there who don’t get any gifts or messages from their family for Christmas or they unfortunately don’t have a family. Thank you! Happy (early) holidays!
Thank you so much for this video! I love how you wrote out everything you did so that it was super clear. I watched your video and ended up making two hats. The first hat came out looking exactly like yours. But after reviewing the video, I saw that when you started the second row you hooked into the inner loop on the ridge instead of the outer. So I tried that when I made the second hat. It came out different haha but still very nice. Instead of the braid looking ridge going around from the top, it came out as a single line that looks twisted. I wish I could add pics. Thanks again!
I've just tried it and IT IS AMAZING. I used a thinner thread, since I just wanted to learn finger knitting (I had NEVER tried before) and I didn't expect my first attempt to be this successful. THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!!! The hat I made tonight looks really cute and it took me the time to watch a movie while mindlessly doing it ❤
Thank you so much for this tutorial. It took me about 80 minutes to complete which is a lot faster than I thought it would take me. I had never finger knitted anything before in my life. This video taught me how to do everything. Thank you so much for this.
Hi there, I just wanted to say how easy your tutorial was! And I wanted to say thank you ☺️ because of your video I was able to make my first ever beanie!!! It was for my boyfriend and he loves it! 🥰💜
I was gonna do crochet but as someone who sucks at crochet, I will do this❤ edit: not sure what I did wrong but.. theres a twist- i only noticed it after making 2 rounds extra edit: i did it!! It’s super cute
When connecting the pieces you might accidentally twisted it I did the same thing. Next time just make sure that you have the little string on the top when doing the next chain!
Wow that’s one good tutorial!!! I tried making mine, i didn’t have thick wool so I used thin. I didn’t end up finishing it, so i made it into a scarf like thing!!
OMG I made this and it turned out perfect, I made one for my little baby cousin and now I'm making one for my brother and I'm just 13!! This was my second time trying cause first when I made it , I was pulling the strings way too tight to it turned out flat rather than 'tube like', so if anyone having the same problem, just open the whole thing and start over but this time make it loose , hope I helped💞
Thank you so much for your video! My friend had to help me with some details like which loop to hook into , and it took me a few tries but it’s really fun!
AHHH I JUST FINISHED DOING MY HAT, ITS VERY COLORFUL BC I DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH YARN IN THE SAME COLOR, BUT IM PROUD OF MYSELF IMMA GO MAKE SOME MORE AAAAAAAAA
Thanks a lot for explaining properly how to make the first loop.... I tried thrice n undid all the knitting as the circle was not getting round but twisted... you demonstrated so nicely that now I can make the proper circle!
Yay!!! I made one today and it turned out to look sooooo cute and you know making something on your own is always so fun but just like every one else mine had holes but may be that is because I have thin wool but I did everyting with 2 strands but it turned out to be awsome still
I almost finished knitting the beanie I'm making for my sister and it is so cute. I used color changing yarn that I was going to crochet with but it was too hard so I saw your tutorial and I love it
@@squeakstherat1588 What do you mean? After you make the first circle, you just do what she does next, you don’t make more loops. I’m not sure how to connect them if you made loops like that….
I'm very grateful to have found this video, since I wanted to give my best friend a gift because I love to give him details, I remembered that he loves hats/beanies and this is the best gift I've given him in a long time.
This was the first thing That wasn’t a rectangle that I finger knitted, it actually looks pretty good, even with all the mistakes I made. Very awesome tutorial.
yay!!! You did awesome. when I lost my crocheting hook, I looked into finger knitting. When I searched finger knit a beanie hat, there was basicly nothing, so thank you very much!! 💕👍
Thank you!! This was really useful. I actually didn't have any thick wool so I decided to put two colours together, it was really colourful and two wools made up for the missing thickness so it was nice and chunky!!
Omg I love this video! The first time I tried making the hat, I got a little impatient and tried doing it on my own. It ended up being a cute little coaster looking thing because it was so flat lol. ❤ I then tried again, skipping through the video a bit, and then went off from there! I ended up making the cutest little yellow hat for my cousins 1st birthday. I then just took another piece of blue scrap yarn, and made a *tiny* bow. If your looking for a gift or a snuggly hat for cold winter days, I definitely recommend this video.
Just tried this as I had 30 minutes to myself and I ruined it as It's twisted and I'm not sure what I did wrong, lol any way I had a great laugh and thought I'd give it another try maybe tomorrow. 👍🏼😊 Thank you for the video. 💕
What an amazing tutorial! It really helped but if you are wondering there is another way to finger knit. It's basically the same thing but instead you just wrap the working end twice around your fingers instead of going up an down between fingers. I hope I make sense lol😅
I love this video! I tried it today, made a few mistakes cause I've never done this before, but it turned out good!
