Pretty nice job. I tend to make the Red Rocket and most remote outposts with minimum construction and supports no more than six settlers including a caravan. My main settlements have no expense spared and are designed to support 20+ settlers. Every settlement is unique in its own way without wasting resources.
I usually treat it like a forward base for Sanctuary. I also do towers, not walls. The Red Rocket settlers tend to wander and get stuck outside the wall even if assigned to a task. Jamaica Plain is really bad about this too. But I usually use that as a provisioner hub with only a couple settlers.
@@IronSightGamingOfficial a good alternative is heavy laser turrets. Those are good at killing enemies. Although I wish that we could have the wall turrets that we see in prewar military bases and research labs. That would be pretty cool. Especially if you don’t have to run power to them.
@@IronSightGamingOfficial also another thing is I don’t recommend placing light sources in your watchtowers if you plan on defending this settlement personally, it allows for you to make sneak attacks easily.
@@slyllamademon2652 Thematically, it make sense, too. You don't want to give snipers a clear target, and lighting up the interior of the guard house not only makes the guards a target, but makes it difficult for them to see targets in the dark shooting at them.
@Brandon Isaac So, we've gone from people advertising for their doxxing of a girlfriend (and one person agreeing with him), to someone advertizing for a streaming service (and one person agreeing with him)?
Couple of small improvements I can offer: 1- have at least 2 separate power lines running into turrets for redundancy, preventing one line being destroyed from cutting power. 2- enclose your generator in a concrete blockhouse to prevent it from getting damaged, you can use conduits to route a connection point through the wall. This can also serve as a citadel to mount additional static weapons on as well.
I read this and skipped through the video to see where the generator was placed, and this is a dumb comment. The only possible reason to do this is if you have problems with Synths in your settlement as they will sabotage your generators. This game has been out for years. NPC attackers literally cannot get on Red Rocket roof, because it isn't meshed for them to walk up there, and they would have to go out of their way and ignore their own programming, (like, climb up the embattlements while all the time getting shot up by the turrets and any settlers) just to try and take shots at the generator. Maybe..MAYBE if a vertabird crashed landed on the Red Rocket roof, but how many times has that ever happened?
This is such a great settlement build I am planning to use your ideas to do mine. I have left it just sitting out there for so long, lol. time to make it nice. I just really like what you did with your Red Rocket. Thanks for the great video. You rock!
awesome build, i tried doing some “ultimate red rocket” build but it was a pain in the ass. this is much better saving my time: 12:22 crystal, aluminum, screw
I use the short wire fences to create choke points near spawn locations. Then set up turrets with a good crossfire. It doesn't work for every settlement, but is fairly effective. Plus the bodies pile up so looting is easier.
Not sure what platform this is, XBOX? (judging by the controller scheme), but the mod Place Anywhere is a massive help as it removes "red-no-build-here" issues, if Xbox has it.
Yeah, walls are a waste of material and building space. Usually people just do it for fun. They're useless for defense unless you're there before the raid.
@@nagranoth_ That's not exactly how it works. There are set spawn areas, typically outside of your settlement but if there's a raid when you're away and you fast travel to the settlement, a calculation is done to push the raiders further into the settlement before you get there. So it effectively spawns them inside your walls. But if you're already there, then they will always spawn from their designated spawn points. There is a mod on the PC version that actually marks those points for you.
no brother, they can't spawn inside because I run the mod "eliminate minute mens annoying quests" so all of the "a settlement needs out help" nonsense doesnt exist.
@@IronSightGamingOfficial but that's just an admission of my point; walls around a settlement don't work, so you need to mod to the point you don't need them anyway...

Great looking fort... here I was thinking I was special building on top of the garage...lol
damn i can’t even make a base like this my self i would just place turrets everywhere and that’s my fort
haha, the workshop has a pretty steep learning curve for sure. TBH I didn't like the building aspect of the game when it came out.

IMHO, if you're going to have "Fort Red Rocket", your guard post turrets should be rocket launchers. ;-)
I thought about it but didn't want to risk having turrets that could kill my allies

I always turn Red Rocket into a fort of some kind. Great build.
I usually turn it into a love nest for me and my favorite companions.
Build a machine that produces mines, then make the conveyor drop mines at the entrance at the flip of a switch
But aren't the mines disarmed, when you don't place them yourself? I've never tried the contraptions, just wondering...

Those were my thoughts exactly, the generators are too exposed and vulnerable to attack which would render the whole defense system useless

Well.. my mind is blown. I'm building this. Easy sub man keep up the good work!
Such a good build easy sub
Thanks Boss :)
Very nice fallout four is an bloody amazing game.
Going to try this with The Slog
This build is awesome
Nicely done, I done mine as metal walls something like this but different. Thanks for some ideals 👍
This video is so satisfying. I love it
Cool build, bad choice of music

Walls are pointless when enemies can just spawn at your location.
That's if you fast travel

Wow I didn’t even know this was possible
Raiders would like to know you'r location
Not bad for an unmodded build.
Beautiful. How would that low-peak warehouse roof cap look on each of the wall towers? Oh ideas ideas.
That would probably look great actually.
super awesome build dude!
Glad you like it
Cool build!
I wouldn't light up a guard post like that, but nice build.
But is this possible without DLC or Add-ons? Because i have only the main game and when i build so much the build-bar gets full quickly.
this song slaps tho
Do specticale island next, I need some ideas
I'm working on a redo of this build at the moment. After that sure, I'll see what I can come up with on spectacle island.
I didn’t even know you can raise the floor like that to be a wall, how did you do that???
attach a wooden stair case to the side of the block and another foundation will attach to it, then store the stairs.
Hey i know this video is super okd but can you a base design one?

Thank you! Cheers!
Better name Fort Red
Ima do this because I’m bored
Wonder if you can do this in Fallout 76?
I tried 76 back when it came out and lets just say, I wanted a refund. Maybe I'll give it a try again...
I find playing 76 akin to sodomy with a cactus. Bethesda really shit the bed with this poor, ridiculous addition to the fallout series.
Song at the start of vid?
Sick beats
Why the hell did you use shack stairs instead of regular stairs? They look cleaner and more believable I honestly can’t believe you used shack stairs💀
I guess I'm just a shack stair supremacist -_-
Can you do this with a vanilla game?
It requires one of the dlc, the cement walls aren't in vanilla.
Just don't think this'll keep enemies out, they will just spawn inside...
