As a person who made 1.2 billion off of cayo in the 3 years it exsited I see that me and everyone else who grinded cayo won, we gave rockstar the biggest middle finger, instead of paying them real life millions collectively for shark cards we used their own game design against them. Now there is an entire generation of Gta online players who will never ever buy a shark card, this final nerf truely shows how much we really hurt rockstar, and it's honestly beautifull.
I also grinded the hell out of it and I have over 700 million now!

As a legit grinder who did grind a billion dollars before Cayo heist update I just wanna say you guys are doing gods work. I don’t feel ashamed of you guys exploiting the hell out of this heist either. Rockstar is the one who should be ashamed of themselves for ruining a great thing.
I must've done that heist 500 times; and figured out a way to do with with two accounts on two different PCs, so could grab gold, without glitching into the storage rooms! I've uploaded a video of me doing it that way.

The fact that people were actively looking for solo public session glitch should tell you how much toxicity R* have created into GTAO's environtment, thus avoiding the multiplayer aspect entirely. Fortunately, R* gave up and enabled us to run business on invite only session
The change actually made very little difference to me, to be honest. I was already using an small program, that meant I only went into solo public sessions. Unfortunately, if you have two characters and switch between them, you automatically get put in a populated public session; the choice to go it solo from the outset isn't there...
I plau on PC and you could easily use a network tool to get a private/public session...When you work hard to sell your busineses you need that. The 'High demand bonus' for public lobbies is a good offering for thoose who want to risk it
Rockstar also made possible for guards to detect bodies inside the compound when the player is miles away
well just watch the right cayo tutorial , if they detect a dead body, then you have kill'em on the wrong place, that's all. 😉

You must have killed the guard in wrong location. Or you shoot too much that the bullet misses, hits a wall farther, and triggers nearby guards. It usually happens when you kill guards inside the compound.

The Cayo Perico Heist replay glitch (disconnecting my internet a few seconds after the heist complete screen came up) allowed me to make around 1 - 2 million every 7 - 10 minutes, meaning around 8 - 10 million every hour. I was able to make over 500 million off of that shit in only a few weeks. Honestly, the nail in the coffin for GTA online in general for me was then they removed a shit ton of cars from the game's freemode.

In my case, there's a lot of reasons.
Burn out from the game. Tired of things like the stupid NPCs raising my blood pressure. Rockstar continuing to have a two tier game; one game for Gen8 Console & PC and another for Gen9. The double standards, when it comes to bugs/glitches ingame; ie. fix issues, if they cost them micro-transactions, but ignore anything else! And the fact that they can't simply leave anything alone; they have to tinker (aka bugger up) with what they've added, if they regard it as "easy money"!

A large part of me believes that Rockstar realized far too late that Cayo Perico not only became the new meta for money making in GTA Online, but also killed off all incentive to purchase Shark Cards.
Therefore, every change made to the heist, from somewhat sensible like prolonging the cooldown between consecutive runs or buffing the patrolling Juggernaut to not die in a single hit in stealth, to outright ridiculous such as slashing payouts and making stealth basically impossible, has been a desperate attempt to force players back onto the pay-to-win wagon.

I genuinely miss doing this heist, as much of a chore it was after setting up so many times, this was the DLC that revived this game for me. It was basically spat on by Rockstar within a year. What has happened to this company?

I used to have shedloads of fun with the CPH! I think 7 heists in one playing session was my record; so, I suppose I'm the reason they made all those changes 😳😂

Rockstar wants groups to play the heist, yet you need to kill guards to get the keycard and guards happen to see dead bodys now. Real big brain move right there.
The funny part is that there was absolutely no reason to do this. The 160 minute cooldown already made CP a non viable grinding method for anyone with a life, but it was still a heist people could enjoy.
I didn’t mind only doing one or two heists a week, because honestly I didn’t want to play it any more than that. I was sick of grinding it all the time. But it was still fun every once in a while. And you still made some decent money for less than an hour of work, if you didn’t get that disgusting, putrid tequila.
This didn’t just make the heist less profitable, it made it a complete waste of time and it took all the fun out of it. Seeing your payout at the end of the heist now, feels more like a slap in the face than a victory.
And it was so completely unnecessary. Nobody was grinding the heist to get rich anymore. You couldn’t play it enough times in a day to break the game. And nobody who grinds the game that hard would ever pay for a shark card.
It really felt like they did this as some sort of petty revenge for the game not making R* and Take Two and much money anymore, maybe because it’s not bringing in as many new players and the old players are already loaded.
I sincerely doubt this is going to make R* any more money. And I’d be surprised if they didn’t already know that. GTA VI will be out in maybe a year, and they know that it’s going to set new world records just like GTA V and Red Dead 2.
They did this instead of actually thanking us for all these many years we’ve stuck with this game, buying the game multiple times. Keeping Rockstar paid while they barely even put in minimal effort to keep the game fresh. I really wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not a coincidence that they picked the anniversary week to do this. This feels like more than just plain indifference.
Not to sound too dramatic, I’m not crying myself to sleep. It’s just weird that I’ve been playing this game since I was barely old enough to drive. And despite quickly learning to expect nothing from Rockstar, I am still… still disappointed. Bravo. 👏
If I'm honest, I just got bored with doing it, in the end; though the last set of nerfs have confirmed that I was right to chuck in doing them.

Rockstar is the only studio I've seen that made a genuinely cool heist but because people enjoy it a lot they instantly regret making it and start nerfing into the ground. People who played this legit without glitching got caught in the crossfire and punished in the process. I played legit and glitched and thought how utterly unplayable it was to play it legitmately. All fun was out the window that made me went out of my way to find out every glitch possible.
I can't even remember the last time I did the Cayo Perico heist but if I see that drunk guy with the desk key in front of Bahama Mama's I taze that sumbitch.
So glad I was able to earn enough money to support my 3 future generations before cayo got nerfed, each time the money would roll in I could feel R* punching the air
I can be one of the few people that can say they've never done a Gold glitch for Cayo - too paranoid of R* putting out a reset wave for anyone who grabbed Gold that they can't during a solo run, I wasn't risking a Day 1 character over an extra two hundred thousand per run.
I honestly would have accepted the Payouts getting nerfed by 30% - IF they removed that stupid 72 hour cooldown on the Primary Target rates, since all that did was pretty much lock the payout to $1.5m if you were a regular solo Cayo player. Better yet, add the Panther to the regular loot pool since it's required for Career Progress --- or make Gold an extremely rare Secondary Target outside of the Compound, since it was shown outside the Compound in the trailer.
I think so many of us were doing the door glitch, they'd have left themselves with few players, if they'd banned all of us 😂
I think R* originally intended that the gold would be found outside the compound - and maybe even been accessable within the compound, as a solo player, but manglement got cold feet, when they realised that would cost them in terms of Shark Card sales.
I think we've seen the last of the Panther; outside of taking out a GTA+ sub (which, of course, only Gen9 Console players can do).
I knew rockstar was gonna pull this crap with the panther eventually so I kept it on both my characters. Only do it when I’m doing b2b with friends or someone who has the panther too

Here I'm who "Never" did Solo door Gold glitch in CPH & never ever did any replay glitches.
Even after the cayo perico heist was released, the casino heist has always been my favorite to grind, sure you need someone to grind with, but when you don’t have that problem, the amount of money you can make after running back to back stealth and disguise on hard mode is just insane, not to mention you can do the setups solo and when you have the oppressor mk 2 you can pretty much do the setups in 20-30 mins and if your friend is down for 15%, man trust me the casino heist has always been the best to make money (at least for me)

They also changed the start of the Longfin Heist, so the boat was deliberately steered towards land; think that came in with The Agency Contracts DLC.
In truth, they're nerfing and nerfing and nerfing the heist, only because they don't want all the bad publicity that removing it completely would bring; and I strongly suspect that's what R*/T2i would love to do...

Never understood why if a guard or camera seen a body how they would know where you are. Like im cool if you add some extra guards and helicopters that makes sense but being found instantly doesn't
The heist was ruined collectively by the player base and rockstar. People who earned billions from the heist ruined it for new players and it made rockstar nerf it way below a profitable point

returned to the game after 1 year, and it's sad to hear about the nerf they made to the heist, i recently got pink diamond as my main target and i guess i'll have to abuse the replay glitch if i want to make money now lol
Cayo perico was the best solo heist gta has ever got, i remember replaying the heist nonstop because going back and forth between businesses made gta online feel like a second job, but with cayo its so easy to make money without a hassle, it was so cool seeing the community try to glitch the heist to unlock a door or find a way to get gold, and rockstar just had to nerf it because they saw its player base having too much fun with it, i stopped doing cayo when enemies were able to spot dead bodies, i made almost 51 mil which was enough and now with the money nerf i just don't feel like playing gta online anymore.

Actually sad, I remember completing the heist the first day it released I rushed out of school to play it. Every day until late January after zoom or irl school I’d rush to have fun on the heist and buy things I couldn’t before.

Not the nerfed pay outs, 100k set up fee, 2 and a half hour cool down because in between it I can do a Dr. Dre Contract and make 1.1 million within 1 hour and 30 minutes, or the higher chance of getting Tequila all the time.

I repeat glitched this heist since the very moment the first panther statue came along. I never saw a tequilla bottle as primary and never will. I can repeat glitch this whenever i want to without waiting a couple hours. I can make 8.8 millions in an hour (not more because there is a limit to earning money in this heist within 30 minutes, resulting in 2 heists earning me 4.4 mil). This is the biggest and most fearsome glitch. I don't even care about the gold because it won't breach the limit in earning money. Every other glitch is just child's play compared to the repeat glitch, which is R* worst nightmare.

Cayo Perico is like that dream job you get in real life that pays you so well that you could retire off it. I retired from GTA 5 after one year of Cayo Perico
and after all these "fixes", the Faction and Faction Custom are still in an undrivable state, so is the Vamos

honestly seeing all this happen is kinda a shame.
i started playing online around the time cayo just came out, and i don't think i would have put as much time into this game if it wasn't for it. even just playing it normally with any glitches/exploits was a lot of fun and got you a solid amount of money. i started playing again recently after a long break when mercenaries came out, only for them to nerf it once i started doing it again lol.
i feel like despite everything, it's still worth doing, as almost a million solo is still pretty good, it's just not as worth it as it used to be and not possible to do back to back, which i probably wouldn't mind so much if they made other avenues for money a lot better. i know they buffed the original heists, but still needing 4 people everytime for everything will always hold it back. wish they made stuff like the mc businesses better, as those are rarely worth doing as of rn imo. would cool if you could have an option to sell in one vehicle, albeit for less payout. would make it a lot more fun imo.

I never actually got my hands on Cayo Perico because my PC broke down and I couldn’t play GTA online any more. By the time I finally got it fixed, this robbery isn’t lucrative anymore :(
What about the 'unplug the internet at specific time after the heist so you can B2B the finale only' glitch, that was the best one imo
they can't patch that because (if i got it right) the game functions on a peer-to-peer session system which fundamentally creates that "problem"
now that they've nerfed this heist to death and made it absolutely unplayable due to AI issues you may as well do that glitch with the bogdan problem (which was the og method of b2b anyway) or the casino heist with paintings or gold

Rockstar really took GTAO's biggest saving grace and slowly diddled it until they finally full on FUCKED it over with this most recent payout nerf. It's decisions like this that make me very nervous and worried about how GTA Online is going to look when GTA6 comes out.

Bikers was the update that made me really play online, it was only a 1 mill buy in to get cocain running and I made billions from just letting that little shop run while I goofed around with my friends. But Cayo Perico was something completely different, it was a grind that I could do myself and didnt have to worry about having someone come help me, I could just sit there and grind and get whatever I was wanting at the time. R.I.P Cayo Perico.
yeah i hate the xray vision guards !!!! I try to challenge myself (as i have enough money) by killing all guards while in stealth, going from the airport to the compound and back (like TGG has done basically) but the damn guards make it impossible for me to do, either i get detected through walls or entire houses at (main dock) or some car driving guard detect a body far out of his vision. Rockstar has truly ruined this heist. When they did the last nerf they could at least revert the guards back and not have the vision nor detect dead bodies
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isen't the cayo perico map totally *still* not patched that it causes massive drops in frames? I have a pretty good PC and I get like only 40fps on that map, however, normally in Los Santos I get up to 200fps.

I, as a PC player, hate R* as much as most of players do (but my reason is their sh*tty treatment of PC). But the fact, that people see bug fixes as a personal attacks, still baffles me. I agree that spawning guards almost on top of dead bodies to instantly spot them is dumb, but the ability to spot corpses by itself is not something out of a fantasy movie. Making Juggernaut's suit actually function like it should is also a common sense. Gold being only accessible in non-solo runs also was justified, since, well... it's GTA *ONLINE*, duh. Payment reduce and cooldowns are bruh moment indeed though

Its not dead, it is still the best moneymaking method, also its just not true that all main targets where nerfed, only 2
I'm probably wrong on this but what if they nerf it so bad because they will give us one final big heist that pays pretty good... I know I'm dreaming at this point but who knows.
There was a BIG glitch you missed. I sh!t you not there was a glitch where if the host quit the game as the player was hanging the npc the envelope at the end of the mission player two will still get their payout along with the heist not resetting for the host meeting you could replay it over and over again without having to do any set ups. Me and my friends got so good at this we could make each other 2,15 million in under ten minutes back to back thanks to the host only getting 15% of the cut.
Edit: I’m not sure if it still works or not because rock* reset my setup during last years Halloween update and I haven’t gotten my friends to test it with me ever since.
This update got me to 100 mill in such a small time. It’s a shame to see it die like this
