Thank you so much for sharing all 16 presentations about the Trinity. I am so happy to hear and see this. My faith and understanding of the Trinity is now much clearer. My understanding and love for God Father, Son and The Holy Spirit has grown to a hi level. God bless you all 10 who has made this possible. Glory to God Yahwe. I am an Adventist in Norway. Member since 1983. I did buy the book Triniti for some years ago. That one has also been a blessing for me. My name is Rune Egren

+ronny andersen Did you listen to the two lectures by Merlin Burt on the Trinity in SDA History and in the writings of E.G. White? Although fraught with errors from major ones to minor points needing a better understanding or refinements, not all of the things understood by the early church were incorrect. A careful study of the Scriptures will help to sort the gems from the dross. The trinity is one of the gems as I read the Word. The Father is plain, the Son is not begotten in the sense of the English word, but unique and yet one with the Father, and the Spirit Jesus sends is another Comforter just as Jesus had been to the disciples, yet distinct from Jesus. God Bless you as you continue to study in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (One Holy Name -- Three persons).

I agree..the trinity is not biblical. These professors have all dipped their tongue in the "wine of babylon" to put it plainly. The trinity as far as we are concerned cannot be found in the bible but is only ASSUMED to be biblical. These scholars know this concept is an ASSUMPTION but they will tell you something else in public..especially when the Christian world is listening..may be they do not want Adventism to be re-labelled a cult from which Lee Roy Froom attempted to practically distance the church through the QOD (QUESTIONS ON DOCTRINES). Lee Roy Froom surprisingly was the orchestrator of the Trinity Doctrine finally ushering its way into the church..The scholars confirm:
1.“While no single scriptural passage states formally the doctrine of the Trinity, it is ASSUMED as a fact by Bible writers and mentioned several times. Only by faith can we accept the existence of the Trinity.” (Adventist Review Vol. 158 No. 31, 1981, P. 4)
2.“The concept of the Trinity, namely the idea that the three are one, is not explicitly stated but only ASSUMED.” (Fernando L. Canale, the Handbook of Seventh-day Adventist Theology, Seventh-day Adventist Encyclopaedia Volume 12, page 138, ‘Doctrine of God)

upholdingthetruth If you properly understand what those two quotes are saying, you will see that it's not the scholars who are assuming, but the Bible authors themselves assume (or take for granted) the fact of the Trinity. You've badly misunderstood their point.

Ben Nichols the catholic trinity is a single devine being with a multiple personality mental disorder but it is monotheism (a belief in 1 god). The sda socalled trinity is a belief in three coequal coeternal unrelated devine beings and each being a separate person and at a point in time the three gods (tritheism and polytheism) drew straws to see who would play the roll of the son. The founders of the sda chuch believed in one god and in one mediator between god and men but the catholics don't believe in one mediator and current sda theology doesn't believe in one god or one mediator. Please view youtube videos under the heading of 'nontrinitarian and antitrinitarian seventhday adventists' there are a lot of them with a lot of E.G. White quotes.

In John 4:24 our infallible Saviour Himself teaches the Samaritan woman about the Being of the Father (what the Father "composed of" so-to-say): "GOD IS SPIRIT" !
You can cross-reference that with Psalm 99:9 , which says at the end that "GOD IS HOLY" !
In conclusion , the Being of our triune God is an actual infinite and eternal (i.e. without beginning) Holy Spirit !
Within this Spirit there are 3 Coequal & Coeternal Minds (or Persons): the First voluntarily accepted and took up the title "Father" (at Creation), the Second took up the title "Son" (at the Virgin Birth) and the Third took up the title "Comforter" (KJV) or ""Advocate" (NIV) - see John 14.
All that Trinitarians do is humbly and respectfully allow the inspired Word of God to speak , then put 2 and 2 together.
It is our Saviour Himself that teaches us this Trinitarian concept :
      Matthew 28:19
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"

God must be beyond our comprehension. The Trinity makes perfect sense. God is so great that the only way that we can even begin to understand him is in Three Persons. And Even then, it is still way over our heads. The day we can understand God, then we will justify the the choice to abandon our belief in Him.

At least, you should believe in your prophet!!! WHO IS GOD?
    Answer:
“God is the Father of Christ; Christ is the Son of God. To Christ HAS BEEN GIVEN AN EXALTED POSITION. HE HAS BEEN MADE EQUAL WITH THE FATHER. All the counsels of God are opened to His Son.”
    - Ellen G. White, Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 8, p. 268

    • @samard.7869
      @samard.7869 4 ปีที่แล้ว

It is precisely BECAUSE this scholar believes in God's prophet that he also believes in the Trinity ! When you carefully what Ellen White has to say on the matter from beginning to end , you can clearly see that her understanding of the Godhead EVOLVED over time ! An incomplete but evolving understanding does NOT make her any less a prophet , just like Habakkuk is no less a prophet despite his incomplete understanding of the punitive justice of God in the beginning of his 3 chapter book , because by the end he does come around - compare Habakkuk 1:1-4 with Habakkuk 3:17 - he is clearly undergoing an evolution in his own understanding of the character of God !
So does Ellen White ! YES , when you read the first chapter of Patriarchs and Prophets she does sound Arian (much like the JWs) BUT when you read The Desire of Ages (which was written 8 years LATER), right from the first chapter titled "God with us" you see a more complete understanding ! Here , she also takes into account the gospel of John and she perfectly agrees with the apostle of love regarding the FULL divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ. She also describes our Incarnate Saviour as the Person molding our planet in the Creation week.
At the apex of her most daring declarations about Christ we find , in chapter 58 titled "Lazarus , Come Forth" (page 530 in the pagination of the standard hardback printings) we find Ellen White's interpretation of John 11:25 - and she says that: "IN CHRIST IS LIFE, ORIGINAL, UNBORROWED, UNDERIVED"
SO , the prophet herself finally came to the understanding that Christ, just like the Father , has NO beginning in Time !
ALSO - Isaiah 9:6 presents Christ as the Creator of Time - "Father of Eternity".
ALSO - Hebrews 1:2 tells us that through Christ even "the ages" ("tous aionas") were created.
In greek koinee concept , those are the very components of Time itself , as a whole. So Christ had to exist BEFORE Time , for it to be created through Him !
Finally , in 1 John 5:20 , Christ Himself is called "the true God and eternal life" ! We know that this refers to Him , because in John 11:25 , Christ calls Himself "the Resurrection and the Life" !
Thomas believed in the full divinity of Christ when he worshipped Him after Resurrection and declared the Saviour to be his Lord and his God - and our Redeemer commended him for that ! I will do the SAME - WILL YOU ?!

The vers about Tomas you fully misunderstanding, beause you apply your preconceived thinking.

@@RobertSmith-ow3pl - You lock yourself in a bubble of idolatry when you worship two divine beings (and therefore two gods !) instead of the only One triune Being Who the remnant Church worships !
Ellen White published statements about God existing as “three living persons” twice in 1906. Once in a periodical called The Bible Training School , and then again in a pamphlet called “Testimonies for the Church Containing Messages of Warning and Instruction to Seventh-Day Adventists” where in page 63 she specifically says:
“There are three living persons of the heavenly trio; in the name of these three great powers - the Father , the Son and the Holy Spirit - those who receive Christ by living faith are baptized ...”
ALSO , in The Desire of Ages , page 671 , chapter “Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled” White says:
“Sin could be resisted and overcome only through the mighty agency of the Third Person of the Godhead, who would come with no modified energy , but in the fullness of divine power.”

@@samard.7869 , so you don't know it from the Scripture, but you have to be told what exactly to believe? What if those texts are misunderstandings, what if someone edited those sentences? How do you know if they ever were written by Ellen White? You know, EGW stated, that the foundations are not moved and never will be! If you think the identity of God is not part of the fundamentals, than you are much more confused than I think. BTW, you were right to say that there is ONE God, Paul tells you who He is: "yet there is for us only one God, the Father" 1Cor 8:6. If you add anything or anyone, than you dont believe Paul, and you reject the Bible. If you can prove this wrong, than your theology is wrong, because Paul was Right, not EGW nor you or anyone. Lets just trust the Bible to be true, or you will lose your balance.

      - Brother, I assure you my supreme authority IS the Scripture itself !
I check and double-check everything with the Scripture - even what Ellen White said.
FIRSTLY, I am very glad to see that you consider apostle Paul's word to be superior to that of sister White (I believe you were indeed led by the Holy Spirit there , I feel the exact same way!) - BUT this is exactly why the SDA church correctly declares her a “NON canonical prophet”: because the Bible is always superior, and even White cannot change it (let alone an airhead of a pope...).
SECONDLY, about God being only One - I totally subscribe to that! However, when it comes to the “Unity of God”, please do let Scripture not only tell you that “God is One” but also let it DEFINE & DESCRIBE what that actually means!
(It’s just like with the human “soul” - the popular concept today is a pagan one, so we must let the Scripture talk for itself and DESCRIBE what a soul really is!)
On one hand, in Isaiah 6:1 the prophet sees the Lord God Himself sitting on His divine throne - the same Lord Who is declared in Deuteronomy 6:4 to be the only true God !
On the other hand, John 1:18 and 6:46 show that no man has ever seen the Father Himself.
So Who did Isaiah see then? Does the OT contradict the NT?!
=>The only answer: Isaiah saw the BEING of the One true living God, but NOT the PERSON of the Father (because he saw the Preincarnate Christ)! THIS is why Trinitarians distinguish between “Being” and “Person” ! To let the Bible define its own terms , so we don’t end up with garbage theology , like “immortal souls” or “eternal torment” ...
This is ALSO why “Elohim” and “Adonai” are PLURAL terms, effectively meaning “The Gods” and “The Lords” - because in the One unique Being of God, there is an actual real plurality of coequal coeternal Persons, Who are perfectly “distinct but not separate” !

1 god with a multiple personality mental disorder or three gods who drew straws to see who would become the son or a single one being god with a single personality who was not a father and who had no son but at a point in time took a part of his holy spirit and made a son, a second being and person who he god the father made in his own invisable image and was later manifested in the flesh. These are in essence the trinity of beliefs or unbeliefs being presented in this series. Also see youtube videos on 'nontrinitarian and antitrinitarian seventhday adventists', there are a lot of them on the sda change of theology and their exchange of gods and their new jesus christ playing the roll of the son of god as god the son. Also see youtube video, 'the shocking history of abortion in the seventhday adventist church by prolife andrew', The sda church went from prolife to straddling the fence to prodeath in sda hospitals and adventist run abortion clinics. So do we dance naked before the lord around a golden calf god (it's all about the money) and do we sacrifice aborted children to the god moloch or do we not do those thing??? Someone once asked me if I thought this was a salvation issue. I said I was convinced it was. What do you think???

At 1:33 you said they all work at the same time meaning Father,Son and Spirit are working in the plan of Salvation. is that what the Bible says? Notice what Christ says in John 5:15-17 “The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.” And John 10:24-30 “Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one. As you can see in John 5 and 10 the Father and Son are working together with no mention of the Holy Spirit as a separate person than them so what you are saying is incorrect

Finally, we know the Divine unity of the Father and the Son from the fact that both have the same Spirit. Paul, after saying that they that are in the flesh cannot please God, continues: "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." Rom. 8:9. Here we find that the Holy Spirit is both the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ - E.J. Waggoner, CAHR, p.23, 1890

The spirit of every living being has a personality because our spirit is our personality. So the Holy Spirit has a personality because God and His Son have a personality. "In giving us His Spirit, God gives us Himself," (E.G. White, 7T 273.1, 1902)
Note: His Spirit DIVESTED of the personality of humanity AND INDEPENDENT
"Cumbered with humanity, CHRIST could not be in every place personally; therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He should leave them, go to His father, and send the Holy Spirit to be His successor on earth. I was born into a SDA family and always believed in the ‘trinity: god the father, god the son, and god the holy spirit until recently; however, studying the Scriptures with the Spirit of Prophecy and our Pioneers beliefs, I can wholeheartedly say that all those who believe as such are wrong. The trinity doctrine is a false doctrine which was brought into the church primarily by LeRoy Froom who was a Jesuit Catholic priest and joined the SDA church for the sole purpose to deceive and mislead many thus leading them to perdition. Please study the Scriptures and Spirit of Prophecy diligently with prayer and find out for yourself that NONE of our Pioneers nor Sister White believed in the trinity. For example, she refuted Dr Kellog and Brother Chapman who came to believe in god the father, god the son and god the holy spirit, three gods in unity, thus god the holy spirit being a different person to the Father and the Son [Jesus Christ.] Here just a few quotes from Sister White and some of our Pioneers on this matter, which trinitarians are ignoring:
    "Cumbered with humanity, Christ could not be in every place personally; therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He should leave them, go to His Father, and send the Holy Spirit to be His successor on earth. The Holy Spirit is Himself, divested of the personality of humanity, and independent thereof. He would represent Himself as present in all places by His Holy Spirit, as the Omnipresent. “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall [although unseen by you] teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. ... Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” {Lt119-1895.18}
"The Son of God shared the Father's throne, and the glory of the eternal, self-existent One encircled both. . . . none but Christ, the Only Begotten of God, could fully enter into His purposes, and to Him it was committed to execute the mighty counsels of His will" (PP, p. 36).
"After the earth was created, and the beasts upon it, the Father and Son carried out their purpose, which was designed before the fall of Satan, to make man in their own image. They had wrought together in the creation of the earth and every living thing upon it. And now God says to his Son, "Let us make man in our image." (ST Jan. 9, 1879; par. 13).
"In the beginning the Father and the Son had rested upon the Sabbath after Their work of creation." (DA p.769, par.2).
“The Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Father, is truly God in infinity, but not in personality. Ellen White, Upward Look, page 367
“Christ has given HIS Spirit as a divine power.” - (E.G. White, RH, Nov 19, 1908)
“How few realize that Jesus, unseen, is walking by their side!” - (E.G. White, 14MR 125.3)
“He [Christ] is an unseen presence in the PERSON of the HOLY SPIRIT,” - (E.G. White, DG 185.2, 1897)
“The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God; it is also the Spirit of Christ.” U. Smith, GC Daily Bulletin, Vol. 4, March 1891, pp. 146, 147
“Here we find that the Holy Spirit is both the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ.” E. J. Waggoner, Christ and His Righteousness, p. 23, 1890
“We learn from this language that when we speak of the Spirit of God we are really speaking of his presence and power.” J. N. Loughborough, Review & Herald, September 13, 1898
“The divine Spirit that the world’s Redeemer promised to send is the presence and power of God.” Signs of the Times, November 23, 1891
“We want the Holy Spirit, which is Jesus Christ.” E. G. White, Lt66, April 10, 1894
This is another statement of Sister White which says, I quote:
Before the entrance of evil, there was peace and joy throughout the universe. All was in perfect harmony with the Creator’s will. Love for God was supreme, love for one another impartial. Christ the Word, the only begotten of God, was one with the eternal Father,-one in nature, in character, and in purpose,-the only being in all the universe that could enter into all the counsels and purposes of God. (Great Controversy, 493)
If this is true, then, how is it that Christ was the ONLY BEING in all the universe that could enter into ALL THE COUNSELS and PURPOSES of God? Where was the ’god the holy spirit?’ After all, if he is ‘god’ being co-eternal and co-equal with the Father, how is it that he could not enter into all the counsels and purposes of God?
We MUST be very careful in what we believe as the devil is running to and fro on the face of this earth to deceive as many as he can. Therefore, study the Scriptures, the Spirit of Prophecy and the beliefs of our Pioneers for yourselves and let none foul you. We need to do like the Bereans, who went home and studied the Scriptures for themselves to see if it were so!
    Food for thoughts:
“That most of the leading SDA pioneers were non-Trinitarian in their theology has become accepted Adventist history, surprising as it sounded to most Adventists 40 years ago when Erwin R. Gane wrote an M.A. thesis on the topic. More recently, a further question has arisen with increasing urgency: was the pioneers’ belief about the Godhead right or wrong? As one line of reasoning goes, the pioneers were wrong and the present church is right, or the pioneers were right and the present Seventh-day Adventist Church has apostatized from biblical truth.” (Jerry Moon, The Trinity, page 190)

The Trinity is a pagan Catholic doctrine introduced in the SDA Church officially in 1980 many years after the death of the Pioneers.
Jesus and the Apostles taught it very clear: there is only ONE true God, God the Father (John 3:17; 1 Corinthians 8:6)

Edupier A Generation in the Bible is 40 years, what’s Forty added on to 1980? Is it not 2020?🤔 my Friend I’m not time setting but I do believe we are going to see the coming of the Lord more vividly that no one can’t deny. Prophecy is History before it happens and this Generation of SDAs will witness the reality of rejecting the Father and the Son in 1980 to accept Barabbas the Trinity doctrine (Matthew 27:25)

You are right Sal Garcia. The view of God as the trinity is beyond our thinking. The trinity is based on pagan philosophy. We are to run far away from vain thinking. Colossians 2:8 KJV
[8] Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
The scriptures are clear. Deuteronomy 6:4 KJV
[4] Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD
    Deuteronomy 4:35,39 KJV
[35] Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him. [39] Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
The English is clear. There is only one God. He has a personality and not personalities. Moses and the Hebrew writers were not trinitarians. Even in Jesus day as well as today the Jews are not trinitarians. Even Jesus was not trinitarian.
    Isaiah 45:5 KJV
[5] I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
    Mark 12:29-32 KJV
[29] And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is , Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: [30] And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. [31] And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. [32] And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
The truth for the last days is a matter of life and death. The bible teaches that it is not what we do that saves us. It is whom we know that saves us. John 17:3 KJV
[3] And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
    John 3:16-18 KJV
[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
God did not send himself. He sent his only begotten Son. Notice here how Jesus is speaking of himself in the third person. This is very important to understand later when he talks of the Holy Spirit in chapters fourteen, fifteen and sixteen.
I believe in God the Father. I believe in the Son of God who was begotten of the Father and thus the "firstborn" over all that the Father and Son made. I believe in the Holy Spirit of God which is the presence and power of God to overcome sin according to Psalm 51:11 KJV
[11] Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
If we still disagree, let us be kind and love one another and forgive one another as God forgave us for the sake of Christ Ephesians 4:32 KJV
[32] And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
