The fact that this tragedy happened with a Life is Strange lets play being the last video on the channel is thousands times more heartbreaking than it could've ever been. Joined this channel back in 2015, been following ever since. Right now, just randomly played this video at 1:41:55 and heard Mari talking about the connections between The Catcher in the Rye and the game and being so spot on and I'm just... being completely overwhelmed by the mixture of nostalgia, sadness and some wrongness, the denial. The remaster looks kinda uncanny. The odd movements seem really highlighted and all their eyes look like dead puppets, and the smiles are just...strange. The original hid this a lot better. Maybe "life is strange" is a metaphor for finding an original identity in a world of puppets.

I've heard a lot of people comment on Miss Grants line about the indigenous people of the area. I think the context you miss is that she was talking about the "pioneers." And there were many parts of the nation where American citizens lived in proximity to indigenous people without violence, the area that would become Arcadia Bay being one. She is not saying that the treatment of the indigenous people by the United States Army as a whole was peaceful or justified. Only that the civilians in this area coexisted with the indigenous people. It is also worth pointing out that although many African Americans were told that their ancestors had run away and interbred with indigenous Americans, the age of wide spread gene testing has proven less than ten percent of African Americans have such heritage.
Keeping it 100, I'm very diappointed in the remaster. Theres little things that are better but a lot of it almost feels worse? The lighting leaves A LOT to be desired, and Before the Storm literally feels no different. The game is also a lot more buggy. Episode 2, the subtitles do not work. It sorta feels like they had more resources but less time.
I should clarify about Alysaa, if you save her three or less times, she will not trust Max in the last episode. But if you do save her all four times, she will trust Max and ask for your help.
I just realized he isn't just exposing himself when he makes that comment about framing someone in a corner, he is ALSO describing his self perception as a murderer. He is "special" because he kills his victims, not just photographs them feeling vulnerable.
Sometimes the moments where Mari and Stacie's friendship is too real, like the cereal box moment, makes me feel like I shouldn't be privy to those moments. I don't know if anyone feels the same 🤣
