What you describe about Survival Horror is simply one type of the genre. Not all games in a genre are exactly the same, they vary. FYI Survival Horror is a sub genre of action/adventure so saying action horror is redundant as it's already a game in that genre. RE6 does of good job of show casing the four most common types of Survival Horror. And yet its four games in way with something for everyone and still it gets shit on. It's a better RE game than 7 because 7 is a new IP that they slapped the RE logo on. So though a good game it's not a RE game.

First, Helana Harper helped start the initial outbreak in Tall Oaks, but also is stupid enough to think her sister can be reached despite mutating into a monstrosity beyond comprehension? Next, Ada Wongs fingerprints literally could not be replicated even by a clone. Literally, every fingerprint is uniquely different from one another, albeit that is a slight gripe right there. Third, that bus crash should’ve killed Leon and Helana, but then again do to should that airplane crash. Fourth, Simmons should’ve died to the fire since that was the weakness right? Fifth, not that Resident Evil was a little ridiculous in earlier games, but the amount of explosions, crashes survived, and physics being ignored starts to weigh on the story itself. I know I’m hitting the game hard right now, but I like a lot of things about it too. The characters are well written and their models are amazing. There are actual zombies. The four stories all connecting together do work on a surface level, but not when one thinks about it. And the combat with or without co-op is still fun once you know how to use it. As for RE7, one could certainly argue the first two thirds felt like a completely different game. However, upon replaying, the game has several files and subtle hints through Eveline and even one of the tapes hinting at the biohazard involvement and existence within the RE world itself. You still get a little action sprinkled throughout, but it’s done naturally. The game itself felt like a throwback to original RE with a different perspective and biohazards instead of zombies. While it’s not a perfect game, to say it’s not an RE game when RE was known for years as the definition of survival horror just sounds weird to me. Both games are fun RE games in their own unique way. If your argument is RE6 probably appeals to more people, then you might be right. As a game however, RE7 feels like a better game (IMO).
Its amazing how you went from defending RE3 remake as a superb remake at release date to "I have common sense and this is not a finished product, much less should it cost 60 dollars"....better late than never I guess
What impresses me the most with these runs is how Bawk manages to memorize EVERY single room in these games.. Specially on this marathon, playing one game after another, and not doing one wrong step for the entire run.. He knows exactly where to go in every room for 12 games straight.. Insane!
Believe it or not it gets engraved into your mind having to platinum these games hell I can memorize the psx version and I’ve only played through it 3 full times (with remake I did like 8-9 for endings and seperate modes)
Tbh by playing the game multiple times you can easily memorize the whole game scenario it's not that hard,the thing that amazed me is that he can sit for 12 hours,my longest playing time only 8 hours

@@ryuukiie3635 Well mine is around 80 hours straight. Hard part were first 30 hours later you get into passive mode where your body adapts and doesn't waste energy. Happened to me once when i decided to spoil double XP event that lasted 72 hour's but was playing 5-6 plus before it started. Anyway don't suggest you to go over 24 it just ain't good for health.

Me and my sister use to play together I was always Kevin and she was always David and we always brought Jim for comic relief. By the time we finally were able to get the stuff to play the game online the US servers were dead. I wish they would remake outbreak before RE4 I think it would thrive today! Loaded up Claire with items thinking SHE would be going into the final boss fight, but nope I got jebaited hard and ended up stuck with Chris with next to no supplies while Claire had enough hardware to start ,and end, WW3. GG. Never went back and finished the game either! Excellent series of runs though, very impressive!
I feel like I'm in such a minority when it comes to liking Dead Aim, but I remember having a light gun with it, so that helped I guess. Great job on another great marathon! These have been helpful while working from home.

I had the gun controller and will never forget feeling like such a badass at 12 years old shooting zombies and monsters haha. I've been watching now a kinda mini-serial from you - your initial play RE3:Rmk from the scratch, when you were a newbie, on the Hard mode, then - right after - Nightmare, then - Inferno, and at last - speedruns one after another in a row, and you started playing more and more cool, mastered your skills. Nice to track and analyze the transformation. :) The most awesome run as one where Inferno in 55 mins, no saves and so on - so now - we've got one more run - so let's check it out - whether if you've got the best now :)
Now hold the phone brother, I actually bought Umbrella Corp. Special edition and had a lot of fun once I learned the meta of Brainer only and shield plus Samurai Edge for back up. (Maybe a shotgun depending on the stage). It's not the worst game in the world but it wasn't good at all by the standards set by the other games in the franchise. So basically, I'm easy to date, hit me up lonely crew, I'm very open.

(Maybe a shotgun depending on the stage). It's not the worst game in the world but it wasn't good at all by the standards set by the other games in the franchise. So basically, I'm easy to date, hit me up lonely crew, I'm very open.
