✨ About me: ✨
Hi, I’m Zoe! (Pronounced like Zoey) I’m a 27 year old from Montreal making videos about my REAL life. After quitting my management consulting "dream job", then being laid off from a startup job, I decided to take a chance and work for myself. I'm now mainly focused on TH-cam (my absolute passion) and side-hustle contracts in the copywriting and admin fields.
My videos centre around work, gentle productivity, mental health & personal wellness, with a touch of fashion, tech, and whatever else I'm living. My goal is to be open & honest ALWAYS and for my channel to be a fun, inspiring place where we can set goals and live our best lives together. I would love for you to subscribe 💝
Congratualtions Zoe! So proud of you! I'm a single mom of 1 and I met my 10,000 emergency fund goal about a week before my birthday last month! I also paid off my car back in January of this year! Keep going and keep inspiring. We're all on this journey together. ✨😌
this is fantastic!!! love this, youre killing it 😍✨
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my TH-cam channel 9 months ago about self development. Now I have 1,765 subs and > 1k hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.
Congratulations! I depleted my emergency fund last year due to a job loss, but it served as a safety net for us. I'm ready to get back on track this year and reach my financial goals.
so glad you had it there for you!! on to brighter things ✨💸
I had a 5k emergency fund then my car broke down 😢 back to square 1. Congrats on your money moves!
it sucks but thats what its for! glad you had it 🩷
Same 🥲 but happy I had the cushion for sure !
That's what the money is for. Better to dip into savings than going into more debt for it. ❤❤❤❤
Another thing to consider is starting a car fund for buying your next car. I know you *just* paid off your current car but if you start now you can save a small amount a month for the first few years of it before upping is as you would get closer and closer to actually buying a new car without taking on debt for it.
Good idea and/or for general car maintenance
wait this is genius!!!! amazing idea 😍 thank you
@@ZoePritchard You're welcome! I name that savings "Big Purchase" so if I really needed to I could add it to my home fund or something since you can never perfectly predict what you will need when and you can obviously change the purpose of funds as life changes. But in general the goal for the fund is about how much I would want to have for a car by the time about when I would want to get a new (to me) car.
This is what we did! We spent 3 years adding like $200-250 a month and then the last year we were putting everything extra into that fund. Bought a 2023 car just a few months ago and we don’t have a car payment 🤗
I know this video is old but I enjoyed it. I live in United States and we all seem to be going the same direction. I love budget and goal videos. Definitely a new subscriber, as I'm learning about how Canada works im 46 but im never too old to learn from anyone thank you so much
I paid off all my debt. And calculated how much i would need for an emergency fund, for at least 3 months. I found and bought my repo house when I was single. 3 yrs later i was diagnosed with cancer. The following year, after my diagnosis. New management came in, and i lost my job. I couldn't look for a job, due to going back to the hospital and Dr's to chech for any remaining cancer cells. That emergency money came in handy. For those 2 and half months I was out. Fast forward several yrs later. Now married, my husband & I paid the house off & all our debt. I've had people tell me. I should of used that money to invest. But nothing would of given me a peace of mind. Knowing that the house and debt was gone. In case the cancer came back. Thats my 2 cents.
thank you for sharing!! so glad you had your own back 🩷 hope you are doing well and healthy now!
I'm always grateful for my emergency fund every time my mum and brother ask for money ...or today when I was moving my stuff into a storage unit and one of the people helping me backed the trailer into one of the keypad boxes (thankfully not the piller itself), thankfully its superficial and the box still works. it sucked, but something always goes wrong in the moving process and at least we got it out of the way early.
Woohoo we love to see goals being met! I am 100% with you on the existential savings path. I recently got engaged and wondered why I was not better prepared for the expenses. Since then I have been adamant on saving goals for potential kids and their lives, buying a home and retirement. Current goal is to pay off my remaining debt, get good with understanding my expenses and budgeting!
So funny you say Dave Ramsey, he was my first podcast dive into financial health and then Graham and TFD too! And now YOU are on my list girl!! Thanks for all your content. Love it!!
I actually cheered out loud for you from the title! Congratulations 👏🎉
🥹 thank you!!! 🩷🩷
Congrats, Zoe! I’m working on paying off my debt and my goal is to get my total debt under $10,000 by the end of 2024 and then pay off all of my debt before the end of 2025! Then I think it’ll be a good idea to bump up my retirement contributions and also having savings goals as you mentioned. ($500 per month to one goal, $100 per month to another goal, etc.)
fantastic!!!! so excited for you 💸
This is so amazing, Zoe! Congratulations on such a huge feat! My $10,000 emergency fund goal is also going to take years to achieve, but that's okay! I'm already a year in. 🎉🙌 I love how you said you're just going to let yourself sit with the feeling of achievement and happiness for a week and worry about next goals next week for new years. Yes to celebrating accomplishments and not just pushing through to the next goal!
Congrats Zoe, very nice job!
In October, I heard that interest rates on my student-loans were going from 0.46 to 2.54%, so I made the goal to pay it off before the end of the year. Balance was about 7K, parents paid for half of it, the other half I managed to scrape together using some of my savings and some extra hours at the office. Financial goal for 2024 is to invest 4-5 K and graduate from my double graduate degree!
Love your tips for setting up goals!!! Definitely starting this Month!
Zoe, this is SO exciting!!! I've been awaiting this video for so long, I can't believe it's here and you've accomplished such a big goal!!! If you have any spare time over the holidays I would HIGHLY recommend listening to the podcast "Money Feels", particularly their TFSA vs RRSP episode! (though they have a ton of great episodes just about the psychology/feelings surrounding money, similar to your content which is why I love you both!) RRSPs can be most advantageous when you're making a high income, and I have a feeling you're only going up from here :)
🥹 thank you!! its been such a long time in the making. the podcast sounds great, ive been looking for more “educational”
podcasts to listen to
OMG congratulations Zoe!!!! I'm so proud of you, and happy for you!! 🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations Zoe this is so exciting 👏😍🤗 it must feel great to head into the new year knowing your emergency fund is filled ✨️
CONGRATULATIONS!! You worked so hard for this I’m so happy for you!
Congratulations 🍾🎉Zoe you did it! Your glowing with pride and it looks good on you. Happy New Year!
Nice little tip for youe RRSP/TFSA leverage: Stack your RRSP, get a good accountant, use your RRSP credits + self-employment write-offs to get the best possible return for your income tax. Then put your income tax refund into your TFSA with a simple ETF plan that pays a monthly or quarterly dividend tracking the TSX and you're solid. Good luck!
yess I think this is the avenue Im going to take 😍
Congratulations Zoe! I'm going to start building my emergency fund in January with a goal to complete it in 2 years 😊
amazing goal!!
I really love your videos because your comments are very realistic. It's not like other youtubers that put so much pressure with their comments, and sometimes I wonder if they really do what they say. Congratulations on achieving your goals!! 🎉
First!!! Ahhhh ❤️🥺 Congrats Zoe for going into the new year with such a big accomplishment!
thank you Kate!! so exciting 🩷💸✨
I'm so happy for you and so inspired by this milestone reached! You worked hard for this---great job! More goals!!!!
thank you Julie!! 💗💗💗
I love DR! People have hate him because he’s right about a lot of things and he has done very well for himself. The only thing I really disagree with is holding the contributions to retirement accounts.
Yeaaah🎉 what a way to end the year.
A Tipp of mine: always have a car sinkingfund! For repair, new tire,… and also saving slowly for the next one 😉
I love this transparency. While I'm building towards my larger emergency fund WITH paying down debt, I find that regular car maintenance, vet visits, car registration, etc. are all viewed as emergency since I don't have the cashflow to cover it. So, like you said, "it's your money." And I'll use fund from my emergency fund to avoid creating more debt. It's that simple.
EXACTLY!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Congrats!!!! Well deserved. Know how long you been going at this!
Congratulations on this huge accomplishment Zoe! It's inspiring seeing how far you've come on your journey.
YAY congrats on your fully funded emergency fund Zoe 👏👏 what an amazing accomplishment! I'm watching this video as I journal about my 2024 financial goals 🤩

thank you!!! 💖
Happy with your achievement! 🎉 I also reached my EF goal this year and now I’m at the point wherein I’m still contemplating as to what I will prioritize next year. But that’s for me in January 1st to decide, as for the me right now, I’m going to celebrate reaching my EF goal. ❤😂
ahhh i love this!! me too i’m trying to just sit in the feeling and not worry about next year yet 😂
Hello Zoe- Where did you buy your tea pot from? Thank you for your knowledge. Health Happiness And A Blessed New Year!

thank youu!! 🩷
Congratulations on reaching 10k for your emergency fund 👏 🎉
Congrats Zoe! What a great way to enter the new year! Wohooo! :)
thank youuu!!!
An emergency fund and how much it should be is so personal, I don't get why people feel the need to tell others what it can be used for and how much should be in it? But I think it's great that you are filling an emergency fund for Maggie
amazing!! agree, 5 months is super 😍
Great Video Zoe! What computer and software do you use to edit your videos?
Love your videos! Can you do a video showing us more on how you use Wealthsimple?
thank you!! & great idea ☺️
Congrats on your fund
Congrats Zoe 🎉
thank you!!
Congratulations Zoe!!
thank you so much!!
That is so true! I keep a spare $500 in my pocket just in case I break my leg and have to pay some guy only side of the road to fix it for me. This doesn't get disgust enough. If that isn't an emergency then I don't know what is
😂😂😂😂
Congrats!! Amazing accomplishment!!!
Congrats! So glad I just found your channel. :)
hiii so glad you are here 🥰
You reached your $10,000 not because you were shopping- lol - its okay that you wore the same sweater! That's why you reached your goal- you see tyour journey as success and not FASHION! Keep up the hard work!!!
Hello from Bristol, UK! Biggest congratulations on your achievements! I too became debt free this year, having paid off my car loan, over draft and credit card AND managed to end the year with a couple grand in savings! My goal for 2024 is to save 10k / £10,000 (english pounds) and to run 10k haha! Cannot wait to see it in my bank account! X
hiii! i love this so much 😍 a double 10k hehe
Really like your story , makes me want to save more.
Congrats! 🎉🎊🍾
I love this video! Your energy is just so motivating, I went straight to my bank account to calculate how much i need to invest to get to $10K by next christmas!! 🤩
Congratulations!
Congratulations! Dave is the GOAT. Currently working on my emergency fund and excited to see someone else making progress.
you got this!!
Congrats Zoe!! That's a huge accomplishment!! You make me motivated❤
I don't know if you have mentioned this in a nother video but do you have an education in economy? You had a great salary with your consulting job!
i have a bachelor of commerce! :)
I'm so proud of you and I don't even know you
Hate Dave Ramsey? Never he’s legit the best! And all his personalities on the Ramsey show are too …Rachel Cruze, jade warshaw and George kamel …🎉 the daily TH-cam show/podcast is amazing
YAY! now put $10k in your TSFP i think its called or split with retirement/brokerage account.
yessss
I like how you unpack your brain. Lol. I’m here for it.
🙌🏼
Hey Zoe Pritchard ! hey i think i know your cousin.
💸💸💸
hehehe
I had a couple thousand saved, then my roommate died and well, rent in Ottawa is stupid expensive. I think it’s time to move away from Canada, things are getting too hard… I’m paying almost $2000 a month to live in a shitty Ottawa neighborhood. 😢 Lord help us all who live alone and have no help from
family or partners ugh…
🎉🎉🎉❤
Loge that sweater
Good decision to not invest the EM! Never do it, that money even if there is no interest, is just supposed to lay around because you can't plan emergencies👍
Something you „need“ to save for is the third teeth. A short time ago this wasn’t on my mind at all. People around me Late 30s and early 40s are telling me they’re on their first and second implants 😮 so I’m planning to save 5 grand for that - just in case. Cause it would really annoy me if that surprised me unprepared.
Btw, thumbs up for reaching the ten grand ❤
WealthSimple is a bank ?! 😂
Congrats Zoe!! My goal is to pay off all my consumer debt in 2024 🤍
thank you Maddie!! 🩷🩷💸 you got this, such a great goal
Yay Zoe! You’ve been a huge inspiration for financial savviness for me over the last few months since I found your channel. I’m starting cash envelopes too - thank you! 🩵
