When will commentators stop talking about “Yee’s track background” as his special weapon…. that became old like 5 years ago. It is not his track background that is indicative of him being the favourite in this race, it is the fact that he has shown again and again that he is the best runner in the sport, and a complete athlete.
I mean they aren’t wrong. Track background through his younger years is why his running is slow clean and he has such an engine to have enough left over at the end.
Your point makes a lot of sense but I think his track background did play a role in this race - just not in fitness or form. His decision to accelerate and seize the inside line on that last turn were exactly what you’d expect to see from a track and field athlete. Doing this required planning and pre-positioning his body. None of this was accidental.
@ I’m sorry to say but whatever you logged as a minor or young adolescent will benefit you come adult competition. Your nervous system has been trained and is thus comfortable in essentially allowing you to go into the barrel so to speak to find that extra kick or energy source that someone untrained from a younger age doesn’t have
@@hook8535 I think all of the above is true, it’s just that sometimes focusing too much on his track background can overshadow the fact that he has to be a complete triathlete to actually be in the best position to win it with that additional talent. And for me the way he does that makes it so much more exciting and appealing to watch.
@ you aren’t wrong. But at the end of the day. Your strength is your strength so never go away from that. Let people talk, keep winning, eventually people recognize your entire game not just one aspect but until then appreciate what they believe you are exceptional at
That was obvious from the start of the run. Yee lets them burn up, keeps running steadily at the same pace without straining like the others did, in the final lap he is obviously the fresher runner with his longer pace gait eating more ground for less effort, and is a better sprinter!
I don't like Alex Yee winning again and again. Others need to step up and make larger gap before the run, because he has lighter body and better running efficiency.
By the way all athletes of leaders group finish bike together, even if you get the swim with 1-2 min gap, peloton will eat you So, all fights are during the running
Alex Yee coming from behind while looking smooth and calm is my favourite thing
Addicted watching Alex running! Best runner! 👍

Run, Alex, Run!! 💪👣🥇
Alex Yee versus Luke Littler for BBC SPOTY 2024
Good fitness test between those 2
4:15 mile?!!!!
Met Leo Bergere once… nicest guy ever, oh!.. and Alex Yee used to live on my street!… I didn’t see him once!
How long was the run, a mile? If so, a 4:14 mile?
Yeah, each run leg was 1.6 km in a 3 x swim-bike-run format. Yee ran the last one in 4:12
@@Manuttri Holy crap.
@@runuphill yeah these guys are insane.
Нет слов, лучший !
Yee is unreal!
what's with that short cut on the run part, what are rules there?
Ну просто красавчик !
Yee just has that extra gear.

Yee won the battle, but Wilde Won the War.
Hate the voice of the main commentator, painful to hear

I'm sure the others have been trying extremely hard.
T100>Supertri.
Wilde simply can't compete with Yee, he's not got the mental strength.
