Ah it's always such a pleasure when someone discovers this game. It's amazing for the time. I spent some months obsessed with it. If I had an Intergalactic Space Arcade, this, Gyruss and Exerion would hold places of honor within it.
I played Juno First for the first time on a multi-arcade machine at some lodge my family stayed at for a weekend a few years ago, and I didn’t wanna do anything else even to me as a teenager obsessed with Bayonetta, No more heroes and Metal Gear Rising Revengeance nothing could pry me away from obsessively playing Juno First, it’s part of why I pretty much only play retro games now, from that point on I was hooked :0
Absolutely love this game, there used to be one at one of the arcades around here back in the day, and I also have it on my multi-board. It really is fun, with some of the appeal of defender but with out the extreme level of difficulty, well for the 1st couple of levels anyway. I always used to put a couple of my precious coins into this machine back in the day as I could get a decent game out of it. I have found the guy who owned the machines I played when I was younger, did not think to look for the Juno First cabinet though. A lot of their cabinets were local generics with the PCB though, so won't know until I track him down and check in his warehouse.
This was one of the first arcade cabinets I saw and played as a child growing up. It was located in Stuart, VA in a store called "Sky City". That store was a Kmart or Roses clone. I loved this game. This was around the mid 80's. My sister and I would play it together. One would move and the other fire. We always nagged our Mom for quarters to play it. Good memories. =) Mame is one way to still enjoy this awesome retro shooter.
Great video. I actually got this as a download off Game Room on my xbox 360. Game Room has lots of rare and classic arcade releases, as well as 2600 and Intellivision releases.
Great classic game! I like it because it's a game that's exciting and it won't consume all 3 lives in less than 1 minute much like Defender can and will do. Thanks for reviewing one of my favorite classic games, one I still play regularly on a Super Retro-cade. Semper Fi!
I have found this title in the wild. At a coin laundry on it's Multicade. Being unfamiliar with the game, I only gave it one quarter while opting for dozens of plays in Gyruss, Donkey Kong and Scramble, instead.

I was wondering if it was by the same designer as Gyruss? Stylistically it also reminds me of Williams games, with the shots and particle explosions.

The depth effect and graphics are just incredibles!

I played an original one of these yesterday. I've never seen it before and it's epic!
Would it be called Juno First Hyper Remix Platinum Deluxe 2014 Anniversary Edition?

It's got to be refreshing to go back too the 1980's arcade games ones in a while. Unfortunately I do not know what this is like. ),:
Juno Second, the sequel starring Ellen Page.
I have found this title in the wild. At a coin laundry on it's Multicade. Being unfamiliar with the game, I only gave it one quarter while opting for dozens of plays in Gyruss, Donkey Kong and Scramble, instead.

my favourite arcade game ever!
That game looks awesome. I have never played it before. To bad arcade games are disappearing.
It's Mark and the Disco ball. He's in the Disco Pinball Dimension!
Whoa, I just tried this in MAME! Pretty cool, although it does seem like they stole the sound banks from Defender, lol.
195,820 is my high score so far on Juno First. I have it in my DK cabinet that is running MAME. Love this game.
Oh, is a great arcade, remember this when was a child, was hardest ever made game
This game looks insane.
Vertical game! Gioco puro molto bello con effetti sonori unici tipo Robotron. Un salto indietro nel tempo immediato!
Juno SECOND ! - The Sequel
Don't know if its been posted but I first discovered this on Xbox Live. If you have 99 cents to spare its a definite pickup.
It'd be cool if there ever will be a Juno First HD released for Xbox 360.
i wonder if there is one Video of Marc where he doesn't use the Words "Carnage", "Genesis" or "Truxton" :D
Its the first Juno, and thats why no other the second, because Juno is very antique, I think.
If I had to guess, based on what sequels are called nowadays, I'd have to say it would be called Juno One
greetings from Peru
Awesome
A pizzeria down the street has a dedicated arcade unit of this
Anyone know if you can legally mail beer to someone, I want to get Mark Tallgrass Brewing's 8-bit Pale Ale
Bro, I understand you want to gift him something, but Have you even calculated the shipping costs from Earth to the Intergalactic Space Arcade?
According to his twitter, the earth based offices have a space bridge to the ISA
Colt Gustafson
And it's bound to cost hundred of thousands just to operate that in a manner that's undetectable by any Earth Government
