That was lovely, it's a beautiful and moving prayer, the Hail Mary. Too often rushed through, when it's given time to shine it's scriptural roots and deeper meanings really do invite reflection. Our blessed mother is worthy of special honour, praise be to God, almighty Jesus, who from His cross gives His mother to the Church before giving His life for all of us.
I'm of a Protestant persuasion but three things are clear. Mary is the ideal mother, she was at least at one point "full of grace" or fully sanctified on earth, and she does represent the new Eve who brought Life into the world as opposed to death. Now, this is an unpopular opinion for me to hold in my spirtual circles, but I will say that to deny these three concepts are to deny the word of God. Because to assume otherwise is to assume His plan for Mary was not Divinely perfect and was a sort of aside, which cannot be true.

It's a bit strange, I just started praying the rosary again today and was telling Mother if she really did hear my prayers or if she was as important as the church professes her to be. She answers quickly. I'm also asking her to help me heal my relationship with my own mother. I can't shake the resentments I have against her.

Today I literally thought “call your mother” in the sense of “say the rosary.” (I forget what led to that), but I had not seen this video listed beforehand. A little Godwink :)
If I judge from the level of spiritual attack I experience while praying the Hail Mary, it must annoy Mr « red legs » as you like to call him. I like to imagine her in the original setting, knowing what she knew, living through tremendous hardship and remaining true. I don’t fall for idolatry and really call on her intercession while also having Jesus in mind. It is prophetic that she is the one to squash the head of the serpent as a reversal of the falling of Eve. I can’t also get around the thought that to fulfil the prophecies associated with Mary, I can only imagine that she was pre-destined to be who she is and benefited from special protection. Maybe this is why her intercession is so precious.
