    All those State Troopers, and Police and unmarked cars passed me from Wasilla to Big Lake, where i turn. So thankful to our State Troopers, and Police, everyone involved, that kept all of us citizens safe.

    Losing your mum sucks! I lost my mum 8 years ago and I miss her terribly. Her birthday is 3rd December so I put my tree up on the 4th. She was a huge Christmas nut. People would drive to her house to see her lights. Nothing crazy like Americans lights, but crazy enough for England lol. So this time of year I dread, just keep going and stop for big breaths.
    I hope you both have a lovely trip to Europe xx

      I think being on holiday I haven't had much to think how the holidays will affect me yet. The hardest part is not being able to message or Facetime her during this unforgettable vacation. So many things I wish I could share with her but I know shes right here on my shoulder watching over me.

    Hi Stacey and Gary. I'm glad the fugitives were caught.
    Stacey, I put my Christmas decorations over a month ago, I promise! I love Christmas. Seeing you decorate the special Christmas tree and wishing your mom were there with you, made me cry because I was saying the same thing when I was decorating my tree because my mom passed away on 2017. Another reason why I cried was because I'm watching this video on November 20th, and today is my mom's birthday and I miss her so much.
    Your trees are beautiful.
    Dear hearts, enjoy your trip to Europe. I've never been out if United States, so I'm going to believe that I'm there with you guys. 😂. God bless you both and keep you safe every where you go!

    I always decorated two weekends before Christmas. Momma always put up the tree the weekend before Thanksgiving, so we grew up with the decorations being up for Thanksgiving. Momma has been gone 20 years this year. Last year it just hit me to put it up before Thanksgiving. I liked it, reminded me of home. So yes, my decorations and tree went up this last weekend. I believe I will continue to do it like Momma did from now on..... And the ornament of the pups, you answered your own question on what to do on your home craft party day....

    Beautiful scenery! Snow Jo makes a small electric snowblower that would be perfect for your upper deck. We’ve had two. First one lasted 8 years and would still be going but my husband ran over a log buried in the snow. It cost $100. Our new one is slightly larger and was a little over $100. It’s perfect for our patio & walkway to the shop. We got both at Lowes.

Holidays are not easier as time passes; but they have become more special because we feel she is still with us. Last Thanksgiving we gave all the grandkids a paper to write down fun things with grandma. We put them in a mason jar one at a time. When we are sad we pick one out and do it. It is fun and memories are remade. Blessings ❤️ Chris

    I got rid of all my Christmas decorations. I just can’t decorate. With the loss of my mom two years ago. Then loss of my brother in August. It’s just hard not having them around.

      I think the only thing that will get me through is my husband. He has been my rock through all of this. Normally we don't exchange gifts from one another but we always got something from Mom so this year we are going to do presents so we have at least something under the tree.

      Yes but its very rare here in our neck of the woods... especially for a driveby shooting. Turned out these suspects also shot at the Troopers so they now have some big charges to deal with. Hopefully our justice system prevails.

      Awe thank you. I hadn't thought about tent sites but that is something I can look into... as I know the Lodge does allow tent camping. Another alternative is a cabin as we will be having cabin rentals available too. Thanks for the idea and I will definitely look into it! 🥰

    Respectfully we don’t decorate for Christmas until after Remembrance Day quite common in Canada but not always the case as some people have forgotten the lost. I am not sure about the size of your wood pile I hope you have a mild winter.

    • @LivingFreeAlaska
      @LivingFreeAlaska  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We don't soley heat with wood... we also have infloor heat using heating oil... but burning wood definitely helps offset the costs. We may have to find more wood mid-winter and if we have to... we will... the price we will pay for not laying it down before Fall.

      Hi Hilares. That is one of about a dozen laying around the house that my Mom made for me. I have even more that I brought home when cleaning out her house. She LOVED to crochet and this type of afghan was her favorite to make. They are from the website crystalsandcrochet. Just add the dot com at the end. (YT may limit my reply if I put in a link.)
