    Let me know in the comments below what resolution are you using and, also, should I keep checking 1080p?

      I'd say most people who are getting cards like this wont be gaming at 1080p, but more information never hurt anyone. Also, even though I myself have a 4080super there are a few games that are so demanding, I need to use dlss which upscales from 1080p, so yeah its still definitely useful

    I upgraded to a 4070 TI Super from a 6000 Radeon GPU just to experience RT which is well supported at this range of GPU. ( minimum 4070 Super for RT before it's viable )
    Now that I've tried it, I'm over it.
    Looking forward to the RX 8000 as I expect Radeon to keep being the raster monsters they are with tons of VRAM.

    Not sure if anyone caught on, but when you turn on raytracing at 4k especially, the cards perform SIGNIFICANTLY better than at native (no RT) 4k in some games, particularly Dragons Dogma 2. So either you're using some super hefty upscaling beyond what is listed in the settings, or something is amiss.

    • @casuallygamin9
      @casuallygamin9  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      But you can see in the settings that I'm using upscaling and it's also added in the chart, on the chart title. The reason that I did this for RT is without upscaling some games will have really low FPS, especially on the 7900 XTX. Also, as it can be seen using upscaling in some newer games you can enable RT and have better performance than on Native and RT OFF. The biggest issue is that modern games are built with upscaling in mind, which is a pity as I believe that Native still produces the best image quality if the TAA implementation is done right

    • @-MaxMax
      @-MaxMax วันที่ผ่านมา

      DLAA is slightly better imo. you loose a few fps, but it's worth! And yes you'r right, native all the way vs dlss Q.

    glad to see that 1%low and 0.1%low are higher on 7900xtx , and for me is more important than the max fps. Ps: not using RT, I play 4k games

  • @Strayed79

    Great video. I had both cards and they have practically the same performance in rasterization. The biggest problem is in games where you are forced to use FSR even at 100% scaling (Wukong, Alan Wake 2, others). AMD's image quality is garbage compared to NVIDIA in these games.

    • @casuallygamin9
      @casuallygamin9  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, I think that at 4k FSR set to quality looks ok, but it isn't better then DLSS

    • @Strayed79
      @Strayed79 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@casuallygamin9 Even at 4k I see a huge difference in image quality. The inferiority of FSR (even in version 3.1) is still quite large compared to DLSS. On surfaces like water we see the difficulty in dealing with transparency. In moving objects like leaves we see a lot of ghosting and artifacts. The experience with XTX's IQ on Wukong made me return to Nvidia.

On that I'd like to point out that your audio is extremely muffled and I couldn't hear what you were saying 98 % of the time. Unfortunately for frame generation to deliver a good experience you need the game to run above 60fps, and don't have multiple dips below that. I think that framegen is not a solution to increase performance when it's low :(

    I stopped watching in the first game because the 1 percent and .1 percent lows were lookin a little sus. Hope I'm reading this wrong or am being a noob. At 2:05 the xtx has 88.9 and 51.6 while the 4080 has 49 and 11.2 for the 1440 resolution. Huge embarrassing score for the 4080. Then at 2:20 at 1080 p we see the reverse. the xtx has a 38.7 and 10 score and the 4080 has a 117 and 82 score. Huge embarrassing score for the xtx. 4k seems as it should be. But the other scores are a bit suspicious to me. I'm really curious about this.

    Thank you for reviewing, both are useless for majority common pc gamers. An over priced 4070 or 7900xt are great, a 7800xt or 7900GRE are the best this gen for price to performance but keep in mind the reality is more than 90% of diy pc gamers still 960/ 1060/1660 supers and currently 5700xt and 6700xt GPUs so this means nothing in reality.
    My entire guild just switched to 7800xt GPUs this last year and yet we still hear how the 3060 and 4060 are the most used when in reality steam bases their GPU stats in individual users not owners meaning wifi cafes using 3060 and 4060 gpus using 1080p still clock the most "owned" even though renters are not owners.
    At first I thought all 27 of us (my guild) must have been an phenom until we cross checked reality to find out no can compete with wifi cafes in China as there are 1.2 million internet cafes meaning there is that many 3060/4060 in use and no tech fluencer gives the reality of cards in actual use. I do appreciate you using these cards even though they are not used with the actual 550/5600x build most would use them with if they could afford it and they cant.

      Depends on the market, in some markets the price difference is not there. If you don't play using RT, don't assume the same for others, and that is why I did benchmarks with RT on and off. People can see the performance loss with RT and decided if it's worth it or not.
