I'd say most people who are getting cards like this wont be gaming at 1080p, but more information never hurt anyone. Also, even though I myself have a 4080super there are a few games that are so demanding, I need to use dlss which upscales from 1080p, so yeah its still definitely useful
I upgraded to a 4070 TI Super from a 6000 Radeon GPU just to experience RT which is well supported at this range of GPU. ( minimum 4070 Super for RT before it's viable ) Now that I've tried it, I'm over it. Looking forward to the RX 8000 as I expect Radeon to keep being the raster monsters they are with tons of VRAM.
Not sure if anyone caught on, but when you turn on raytracing at 4k especially, the cards perform SIGNIFICANTLY better than at native (no RT) 4k in some games, particularly Dragons Dogma 2. So either you're using some super hefty upscaling beyond what is listed in the settings, or something is amiss.
But you can see in the settings that I'm using upscaling and it's also added in the chart, on the chart title. The reason that I did this for RT is without upscaling some games will have really low FPS, especially on the 7900 XTX. Also, as it can be seen using upscaling in some newer games you can enable RT and have better performance than on Native and RT OFF. The biggest issue is that modern games are built with upscaling in mind, which is a pity as I believe that Native still produces the best image quality if the TAA implementation is done right
Great video. I had both cards and they have practically the same performance in rasterization. The biggest problem is in games where you are forced to use FSR even at 100% scaling (Wukong, Alan Wake 2, others). AMD's image quality is garbage compared to NVIDIA in these games.
@@casuallygamin9 Even at 4k I see a huge difference in image quality. The inferiority of FSR (even in version 3.1) is still quite large compared to DLSS. On surfaces like water we see the difficulty in dealing with transparency. In moving objects like leaves we see a lot of ghosting and artifacts. The experience with XTX's IQ on Wukong made me return to Nvidia.
Thank you for doing this it was great.... For me having my 4090 was over kill and I found I always turned RT off. Nice but... unless your playing say Quake RT where everything shines and reflect every thing... I just didn't care. So I just sold it last month got allot more then I paid for that is not why I sold it and got a Amd 7900xtx white. Yeah man I love it.

Unfortunately for frame generation to deliver a good experience you need the game to run above 60fps, and don't have multiple dips below that. I think that framegen is not a solution to increase performance when it's low :(
I stopped watching in the first game because the 1 percent and .1 percent lows were lookin a little sus. Hope I'm reading this wrong or am being a noob. Yes. By default on AMD GPUs the functionality is enabled as well in BIOS
