There is no doubt Sarah possessed one of the best and most beautiful voices of the 20th century.A vast range, excellent technique, intonation, exceptional ability for improvisation. When listening to her I am in awe of her vocal abilities, but frequently find her over elaborate improvisations, do little to serve the lyrics and the deeper meaning of them'.Everything must change' a good example.Peggy Lee performed this same song live in London 1977. Her subtle phrasing, she gets to the heart of the song, for me sometimes less is more.Peggy did not possess the exceptional voice Sarah was born with.
Carl Shroeder was my favourite of all of Sarah's pianists. I 've never seen him accompany any other singers since leaving her - in fact, I've not seen anything of him at all.

One of the best renditions of this song. "Beauty makes me cry."
the rhythm of the second half is out of this world
Voice is priceless and the pianist is phenomenal in skills! ❤ 💯🎹✝️
Made me cry, it’s like having your soul massaged!
The brilliance of both artists; really all people on the stage are God-given with talents 👄🎹🥰!
Outstanding, mesmerising, unreal ❤
What a range!
SUPERIOR VOCALIST LIKE NO OTHER !!

I believe in the 1980s he became a music teacher and taught until he retired in 2015. He also released an album but I can’t remember it at the moment
@@sassysblues1736 Thanks for this. I've looked it up - it's called 'Itself' by The Carlton Shroeder Trio.
