3-Year Missing Person’s Phone Found by River, 5 Vehicles FOUND

- Today we search for Johnny Lee Thompson Jr, missing from Independence, Missouri since July 6, 2019. We started scanning the Kansas and Missouri river using sonar technology and located 5 vehicles but none were Johnny’s.
Thompson was last seen leaving a friend's house in Independence, Missouri on July 6, 2019. He apparently had a heated discussion with someone on the phone before he left. He has never been heard from again.

You two are just amazing! So proud of you for what you do. You are giving the family hope that maybe he will be found. I can only imagine the heartache they feel, not knowing what happened to him or where he is. And a big shout out to Candace for everything she is doing! (and I know it's a lot!)

Hi, Adam and Jeremy. Two more vehicles dived on and cleared as not being your target vehicle. Excellent image & detail on the sonar, btw. I know you had to abandon the search due to impending bad weather, so really looking forward to Part 2 of this search video.
On the lighter side, I had to laugh at the sight of Jeremy with his legs over the side splashing his feet in the water 😂

That water looks impossibly dirty to be having to dive in! I cant imagine that you can see anything in that mud! But you are searching it, and diving it anyways! Thank you for all you guys do! These cases, and these poor families are running out of hope were it not for you search and recovery dive teams, out on your own expense, to try to search for these people who are missing with their vehicles! Whether you locate your target or not, you at least try and sometimes its the only hope these families have. Thank you guys! For all you do!

It is horrible... not just because of the mud density & log/tree debris... but also the submerged trees, submerged/covered sandbars, whirlpools & random trash... we used to just watch the random plastics trash, clumps of suspicious tissue like paper, condoms & ocasional bodies float by...
OH! the Kaw looks calm, deceptively so & the MO looks swift but is WAY more swift than it appears.
Keep digging, feels like your close.

That mud is dangerous even under 13' of water it will hold you on the bottom. I'm glad Jeremy is taking it seriously. I lost a friend like this.

You are doing such a thorough job on each vehicle. I would recommend Adam that you take the plastic cover off your screen so you can see things better.

If it is a hummer they may have wanted to see if it would float like the real Hummers are supposed to. I have heard them say that the new Hummers are supposed to be no different than the MILITARY designed Hummer are.

Question: What's the difference between a wet suit & dry suit bc I've heard divers mention both?
Wetsuits use a layer of water (that is warmed by the wearer's body) to help keep the body insulated, while drysuits use a layer of air and are fully sealed to prevent water from entering and coming into contact with the skin. The latter has the advantage here, as water conducts heat over 20 times faster than air.

You are in the former home of River City USA. The center of both rivers are the only areas that are dredged out to decent depths for river travel, be careful! Also that was a camp point for the Lewis & Clark expedition if I remember correctly.
The day I become a member to a team or two especially the one that shares their sonar most of the time, I can finally ask a question. why you don't always pin your target‼️‼️ and this happens many times why not when you know it's a vehicle is it because you don't have enough bins or it's a waste of time ?

The Kansas and Missouri Rivers are dangerous. We had horrible flood in 93 and it drug a lot of things into the river. You all are amazing.
