    *Year is 2018* and an obvious simple editing mistake shown for seconds at the ends of the video.
    Looking forward to *any thoughts about this nearly 1,700 piece set!*

      Looks really good, even in a minifigure city it will be an eyecatcher. I thought about how funny it would look if you put the minifigure of her in the torch and not the flame.
      But I think she really needs a face, even if the tile would have been printed it would probably look even better.
      But other than that amazing

    I definitely share your sentiments in regards to the face being just that singular face. I feel like the rest of the build did so well in conveying the wrinkles in the clothes, and the face just being that single piece does a disservice to the rest of it. Lovely set aside from that small glaring problem.

  • @cfox73

    I agree with the face. At least they could have printed a smiley on it :)

    I really like how Lego added those red lines in the instructions to make it easier to tell where the pieces go. Sometimes it was really difficult to see where some pieces went.

    Have they ever done prints in architecture sets (besides labels)? I feel like they could have done a graphic brow, nose, and lips for the face.

    • @troodon1096
      @troodon1096 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not counting the labels, they have done so a few times, like when they printed St. Mark's Lion on the side of a brick for St. Mark's Campanile in the Venice set (that set also uses a printed 2x2 round tile with a grate print on it, though that's not unique to the set). It's not unheard of for them to do unique prints if needed, though it's not common.

    I had absolutely no idea this was getting released, not even a word. What shock to see your video pop up, have to try to get this. I am very lucky to have seen the Lady Liberty not just once but twice in all her glory. I also think that this is a bit more presentable than the previous big one, this one you can put on a desk or something like that.

    I agree about the face close-up...but it seemed to blend in with the rest of the sculpture better in distance shots shown in the last 40 seconds of this video. I think it's going to display great and at $120 this is a steal. I was considering piecing together an older statue of liberty earlier this year (glad I didn't). It was going to cost 100s upon 100s of $$$.

    I honestly really like the face and its simplicity

  • @rampagingelephant7353
    @rampagingelephant7353 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Even though I don't have a lot of Architecture sets (the only one I have is the 2016 Chicago skyline set), I'll probably get this set because it looks so good and it has all the different sand green pieces and it could be used in a Lego city as a smaller Statue of Liberty. The only part I don't like is the face, so I might look to see if there are any ways to make her face or something more three dimensional that an unprinted Nexo Knights shield piece.

  • @SaturnCanuck

  • @zachcheung8400
    @zachcheung8400 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For me personally, before I can criticize the face, I like to try to think of an alternate solution in my head just to see if its possible. In this case, while a Nexo Knights shield isn't accurate, if I was a LEGO designer, I would still pick the Nexo Knights shield because all other solutions I tried to think of looked worse, so in this case, I think its a matter of picking the best looking despite it being inaccurate. It is very difficult to represent the detail of a human face in less than 2x2 studs of area.

    Not sure how much this will cost in Europe since it's not available here yet (not even on LEGO's website) but at around 90€ it should be fine.
    That face needs plastic surgery, though. My only concern is what can we do considering the limited number of olive green pieces available.
