Even better is putting games in spanish language setting type shit cause that makes you learn everything especially when it’s a game with alot of stuff you know? Like i recommend HayDay.
I’m Chilean and I’m trying to learn spanish for my dad and my abuelo and abuela. It makes it a lot harder since I’m learning Chilean spanish. There’s so much slang and we talk really fast so it makes it incredibly difficult for me. Lately, I’ve been improving quite a bit and I’ve started to notice that I’m sometimes thinking in Spanish without realizing.
I've been living in Costa Rica for the past 9 months and my Spanish has improved immensely. I took 4 semesters in high school prior to coming here, but that was about 11 years ago lol. Thanks for your tips, I need additional ways to study when I'm not talking to others here, love the rap lol

Aleesha Lauray Lucky! I want to live in a Spanish speaking country so bad! And thanks. That rap is so embarrasing, but it was fun. And yes I have other methods of improving different aspects of your Spanish in my other videos. Have you seen my tongue twister video? What beg you to Costa Rica?
Good for you going outside your comfort zone =). Not yet, but about to watch it now, thank you! I wanted to learn about the culture and become fluent in the Spanish- dreamed about it for 2 years and finally took the leap. My oldest goes to school here, so we are on the way to becoming bilingual *fingers crossed* And you can do it! In CR, the housing is super cheap

That is so awesome! I was going to move to Puerto Rico about 3 years ago, but my ex wife got pregnant so I stayed here. and now since my kids live in Springfield Illinois, i live close to Chicago. I want to at least move to Miami, but i need to stay close to them so i'm stuck for 20 years. I may make tips out of the county though. Is your child picking it up quickly?
Hey hun, how do you like Costa Rica? Are you with a host family or on your own? I am looking to live in a Spanish country within a year and I am looking for the best place to go to help me learn as well as is safe, friendly and affordable. Ayudarme por favor?
T.P.R. sounds a lot like the Berlitz method of language learning... this is probably the most natural, most mentally engaging and most fun way to learn the basics of any language, so I can understand why you would've loved to learn this way. And despite seeming so simple at first, a teacher can "progress" the question and answer (as the student improves) so far over time that it's possible to eventually get to more complex sentence structures until it almost feels like a standard conversation between near-fluent people. What I like about T.P.R. is that it forces the student really "think" in the new language and associate it with real life actions literally on the spot as would happen during a normal conversation (an effect you can never really replicate from reading a book or even listening to a recoding). The main downside is what you mentioned, you need someone who is already fluent in the target language in front of you to patiently do this... not only that, but they also have to know how to properly build one concept after another to keep the student motivated and always on the right track. But once you have that, this is easily the best way to learn languages...
Great video! I've already started listening to Spanish music and we have started listening to some Movies we like in Spanish. I ordered a Bilingual Bible as well to read and learn vocabulary it just arrived today. I'm enjoying your videos! They are really helping me and motivating me to keep up the momentum.
I took a class in high school, I’ve taken like 4 college classes. I’ve pretty much decided that I’ve gotten as far as those classes are going to get me. Now I’m trying to learn on my own (with videos, books, talking to people etc). The classes were a good base to just sort of learning the way spanish grammar works but that’s about it.
That’s prob why I am one of the most advanced in my classes...I watch a lot of YT videos and got into a little of the music which started expanding my vocab and mejorando mi acento
Try thinking of 16 nouns that broadly cover all nouns such as. Plant, nature. Body. House etc. And then link all new nouns you come across to one of the 16 nouns e.g. leaf links to plant, hand links to body. Then link verbs and adjectives to these. It works for me.
I am doing Spanish at school. (In my GCSE’s) and I am finding it very hard to remember anything at all. Even tho I love the subject, (my school kinda ruins it) so I’m trying to find ways to help me.

Rickie, do you have any suggestions for speaking spanish in an office? I've realized that basic office phone etiquette is something I need more practice at. Saying things like "would you like to leave a message?" "can he/she call you back?" etc

Mmm, it does take some wits to come up with these random words without losing flow. I spin my wheels and choke every time I dare attempt it myself. But I did enjoy looking at the rap battles in the 8 Mile film. Also, that book, El Quijote, wow, what a masterpiece. I got to read it in high school and fell in love with it, and ignited my passion for Spanish letters. Cervantes is to Spanish what Shakespeare did for English. Only easier to read (or am I biased?). A few of them have actually been somewhat accessible for the ones written in plain English. For example, I was able to complete Salinger's Catcher in the Rye and some works from Mark Twain. But my eyes unavoidably glaze over every time I plough through some of the franchise lit like Harry Potter or Tolkien's LOTR. I'll keep trying and hopefully I get to finally crack the code for these novels. ...feel free to drop me some hints if you know what I'm missing there.

Ulises José Corona de Jesús She says to check out "The Things They Carried" by Tom O'Brien. She said that Harry potter may have been difficult for you, because some of the words are actually made up. The author gave them meaning and since we are native English speakers we know that, but someone who isn't native may not recognize them.

Ulises José Corona de Jesús And also it seems like you have a great understanding of English, but I have not given you a proficiency exam, so I don't necessarily know your level of fluency. It's great to challenge yourself and with sites like google, you can find the definition of practically anything. Suerte, mano.
