My big takeaways from this were (1) whichever hand is “up” (facing towards you) will be the top side of your choke when you turn, and (2) keep your arms and elbows tight to prevent the counter armbar

Caught one of my partners with #3 last week. #4 looks like a winner if you don't apply the left hand until the last moment. That way, nothing seems to be going on until the very last moment. I was watching a Majid Hage video and the killer detail seems to be the pressure applied on the palm down side. That needs to be on the artery and guys fall asleep.

good advice. perhaps less lapel chokes and you won't have to use a roll of tape on your fingers head class.
