Hello ma'am been watching your videos for the past days whenever I have my free time. And day by day my determination to apply is getting stronger.. But one thing that is holding me back is that my bachelor's degree and masters were not aligned. I graduated at Central Mindanao University for my undergrad and took bachelor of science in agriculture major in agricultural education elementary option. My masters is MAED major in Guidance and Counseling. Currently Im a licensed teacher and been teaching for 12 years in public school. I would love to hear your opinion about my situation. Hello ma'am! May I ask po, before the application, what teaching certificate or a license to teach in the US did they secure, if any? Thank you ma'am.
In AZ, you can apply without it.
After applying and getting a job offer, sa IEE ako nagps evaluate ng school credentials for almost 15K afterwhich kuha ng nbi clearance at passport. Then i applied at GEC as my visa sponsor . GEC ask me to pay around 2,200$ for their sponsorship fee and good for 1 year sickness and accident insurance. They then send me DS 2019 and SEVIS fee receipt. I then apply for a schedule of US embassy interview where i paid P8,800 for DS 160 confirmation of schedule. I went to Manila with plane fare of P3,600.After the US embassy interview, my visa was approved. I then registered at the Commission on Filipino Overseas ,paid P400 ,joined pre departure orientation and finally they released my CFO sticker which is needed in the immigration prior to departure. The plane ticket to LA up to ABQ.,NM.... because of fuel inflation amounted to 90K. Your pocket money should be 2000$.

Hello po! Since J1 visa is good for 2 to 5 years po, and required bumalik ng Pinas, is it possible to just go on a leave of absence sa DepEd and then go back ulit after teaching in the US? Kasi I guess it is difficult pagbiglang uuwi after 5 years tapos walang fall back, lalo na po yung matagal tagal na sa DepEd nagwowork, actually I feel like kung mga nasa early 20s madali magdesisyon, kaya lang yung mga nasa40s na, pero gusto pa rin ng greener pasture hehe gusto magrisk pero mahirap? Lalo na kung walang kasiguraduhan ang J1 Visa na maging permanent? Thanks po
Most teachers will not be allowed for leave of absence. Some teacher will be allowed but a maximum of one year lang na leave of absence.
It is a risk that you need to take if you wish to pursue your American dream.
