@starvartist2824 . There must be an error in the date it's definitely 2024 as the sign says " Don't touch the reins " which wasn't there in 2023 only this year ! Plus I think John wasn't filming for TH-cam back then ! I think we can let him off this time he's in holiday mode .😂😂😂

I asked a Chinese friend about a Chinese woman on the subway who sneezed in my face... TWICE, and stared right through me while I berated her. My friend replied that there are so many people in China, putting up an invisible wall around one's self is a coping mechanism. They literally don't see other people.

I absolutely love to watch the way the guards march. They are so perfect in the movements. That can't be easy. It kills me how oblivious some people are to their surroundings. Would the step in front of a car..probably. Why can't they just get back when the guard is out of his post?

Hello again Tannys Tomasz here it's Sept 3, 2024 i would have been here earlier but somebody set the house next to ours on fire. Fire department had to make sure the fire didn't spread to our roof, than last night had someone inn our yard trying to start a fire. Good thing our dog barks at everything. Those Chinese tourists are always so damn rude, wonder how they would feel if we went to China and disrespected their customs. The horses are beautiful as always.

@@kathellison8084 no thankfully no one was injured the house next to us been vacant for 2 years hoping the city tears it down soon.
Just so you know (in case you don't already) horses are always measured to the withers (which are just in front of/at the front of where the saddle sits, depending on how you position the saddle, the type of saddle and a few other factors, normally a saddle is placed on the withers and slid back very slightly along with the numnah/saddle cloth so that it sits comfortably for the horse allowing it to rest just behind the top of the shoulders), horses are never measured to the head always to the withers!
I feel sorry for the horses. Having to stand there with all the people staring at them.
John I think you'll find that commercial tv are not allowed to film in many places without a licence just because they are commercial I.e. making money off the back of it.

John, you take such good videos and I really enjoy them. I think that the tourists should be more respectful of the King's Guard and the King's horse. They are the ones who are targeted by their disrespect. In my mind to maul the horse and call it petting is wrong. I love this 18 hand beauty. He is so handsome as is his rider.

On one of your other videos I was able to watch a part of today it said there would be no more Kings Horse guards, is that true please? I try to watch all your videos, but being disabled it's hard to watch them in full, I live in the USA, IN OHIO, AND I would never touch a working animal unless I was told I could because I have a service dog and I can't believe how rude those people are
@cstiebeling2. Between 2nd September and 24th September there will be no mounted guards only the two foot guards as planned works are being carried out at Horse Guards and Whitehall . Once it's completed things will return to normal . 😊

Interesting. Ages ago John, you identified Q10 as a Life Guards horse who has been, for some reason, seconded to the Blues. From memory, we've only ever seen him mounted by a Blues Trooper. Mind you this is Sept. 2024!!!😊😊😊😊😊

Why do people bring their dogs to this area? Not all animals get along together.
It’s a public walkway.Local people are free to take their dogs for walks. And the horses see troopers’ and officers’ dogs at the barracks frequently.
I noticed the horse has what appears to be white markings like on edges of his lips.
Its really weird now to look back on these older vids and to watch just how much tourists touched the horses. Wow!!!

This is an old video, but not seen it. Look at the plate .
Maybe it’s because if there was an emergency with need to evacuate, people would break their necks over that bulky equipment. I think it’s a trip and fall hazard. Are they the press, or are they just media, because there are major differences. Their equipment took up floor and space and occluded what tourists could see. Maybe it’s also because their stuff is so big and tall it might upset the horses or get in the way of the Guards doing their job. The line has to be drawn somewhere. For example, I think any tour guide who uses amplified sound shouldn’t be allowed to operate here, it irritates and exacerbates the chaos.

The two regiments of The Household Cavalry , red uniforms are Life Guards , dark blue uniforms are the Blues and Royals they are the two most senior regiments of The British Army and have stood duties at Horse Guards since the 17th century as Kings Lifeguards a term which is used to represent both regiments while on what is now a ceremonial duty . Those in black and gold uniforms are The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery usually seen pulling the gun carriages and firing salutes at State Ceremonial occasions . They stand as Kings Lifeguards when The Household Cavalry take a summer break . All the uniforms are their ceremonial uniforms with long history and traditions .

If you want I can have a look at the confirmed footage if you link it to confirm it's the same horse as I can straight away identify five or six identifying marks (I work with horses daily, so I know all the marks, features, colours and so on off by heart), I might even be able to identify extra stuff such as age and stallion, gelding, mare, colt or filly and so on but no guarantees on it!
No colts or fillies in the Army ! 😉
Actually there is a handful of Colts that are in schooling and there is one filly being trained for the mounted band or possibly the royal horse artillery or if not then the dressage team (not sure where she ended up! But they are not used operationally at the moment

Fillies are four and under; horses don’t do guard mounting until at least five.
