      With all due respect. I hope the Life Guard Gateman knows. How awesome he really is. His marching stance is extraordinary. It commands respect and move out of the way vibe. Crossing my fingers. That we will continue to see. What we saw in part 1 in part 2. The engaging Corporal of Horses and our favorite Guard in camo. Hope the tourists will now start to focus On the lines. That are in front. Of the Guard boxes. Which I never noticed before. Only two Guards I heard say. "Stand away from the line.* Well done!❤️💂‍♀️👍👍

      @@Tracywhited2 Agree wholeheartedly! Beautifully said. The fact that the Corporal of Horses/Guard in camo was engaging. With the tourists. Proves a more stress free and positive atmosphere can be achieved. For the sake of the Royal Guards/Guard Horses. Tourists not forgetting. This is a military establishment. Proper conduct is expected.❤️💂‍♀️🐴👍👍

    I like the changes...so much more relaxing, less stressful. I think all the videos people are putting up made it clear to the higher ups just how badly the guards and horses were being treated by the public and changes were made and now being enforced.

      The sooner the spammers move on to pastures new the better ! There is one channel I regularly report particularly for the sensationalist headlines like " horse in extreme pain " which of course brings out the " oh poor horse , it's cruel " brigade who know as little as the idiot filming , who of course don't care as they're only in it for the cash ! The new signs are working , now bring in licensing for those filming !

      Having the COH and stableman out with the tourists can only be seen as a positive step . Interacting with the public in obvious military uniforms informing and educating people that Horse Guards is a military base and the Troopers though in ceremonial uniforms are indeed soldiers not as some think " actors in costumes " ! If today was a trial move to see how it went , a definite success !

    Brilliant that the military has begun interacting with and educating the public. I watched a bit of an old video this morning from 5 months ago. The poor horse had his nose touched and scratched about 50 times in 10 minutes. The horse tried to shake and pull his head away, but still the tourists went for his nose sometimes three to five people at one time. Imagine being that poor horse! This new way is so much better. The military is doing what they do best-keep rules and order to society. I love seeing the children and young people respecting others now. The German teen who asked to touch and then when you hilariously teased him, he was so pleasant and polite. Love it! ❤️👍🏻😃
    As is so often true, education is the key.

    Hello John from Australia 30/8/2024 - I've been away for a week and thought that my suggested 3metre exclusion zone had been applied until some had photos. Great to see the horses so placid and content, it's great to see the message getting through. The PR is a great way to educate the public as I find history is not the most popular subject in school, and manners , respect and consideration for others went out the window with social media. Where are the police the Soldier still having to do the job of crowd control even the COH as well.

    I think the interaction with the public is a vital role..education is key!! Tourists will get a much more rounded experience interacting with the troopers..answering questions..learning about the role of H.Cav. within the army. Who knows maybe future H.Cav. troopers will visit as children and think "That's what I want to do!!" ? That's got to be a win win situation!!! Lovely to see the fabulous Trooper J. I am very glad to see that the tourists are finally keeping their distance from the King's Guardsmen and horses in service and on duty. They are not there for the amusement of the public although it is great for tourism in London. The reason they are keeping their distance for the most part though is because there has been a tremendous outrage and negative comments towards the very obnoxious and self-entitled tourists who show no respect for this tradition of a wonderful country they are visiting. So much mass media have alerted and got the attention of the officials, who have finally started to step up and jail and fine some of these "fine representatives" of other countries. I still say they should paint a large square outline in front of the guard shacks in bright blood red and a "no cross" sign in it. Even then, you would get people who decide to disregard it.

    Great and entertaining video as always, John. As a German who's been living in this country for a long time, I am naturally embarrassed when I come across fellow Germans who misbehave, although to be fair, it does not happen too often. Lots of Germans are Anglophiles; that's exactly why they come here for their holidays. Unfortunately teenagers often visit in student groups, and there are two issues with that: Some of them are not interested in what they are about to experience, and also young people at that age often feel strong in groups and behave badly, especially young insecure boys. You have shown enough international examples of that on your channel, and I can assure you when you go abroad you can include Brits as well.
    Despite your very justified criticism, I feel the comparison with the SS (actually not soldiers but a murderous paramilitary organisation) is off the mark. I think what you meant was the so called "Wehrmacht". Nowadays the Bundeswehr is the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Germany. That aside, why do people always have to bring up the Third Reich? As somebody who was born almost twenty years after the end of WWII I think Germany deserves to be seen as what it is: a modern, democratic country. By all means tell German idiots at Horse Guards to behave, but please do it without bringing up those 12 years which are a small (if terrible) part of our 1000 year old history.
    Sorry for the long comment, but as somebody who still occasionally has to put up with people greeting her with a Nazi Salute, I had to vent this.
    Keep up the good work!

    Hi John, a TH-camr who is American who was looking at the kings guard was very interested about the Blues and Royals and kings Guard . He was laughing at the tourists who were getting shouted at by not following the rules, even though they have warning signs. I have told him to follow your channel, i said your channel is the best for horse guards if he wants to find out about the horses and soldiers, he wants to see a channel that films the tourists getting in trouble by the soldiers. I hope you dont mind.

    It is so good to see a more relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately you are always going to get idiots. Basically if you can't show respect for others and the job they are doing, then you deserve no respect. Also you ultimately have no self respect by trying to belittle others.

    I have a strong feeling that HRH, the Princess Royal has had a hand in this. I think that, knowing that she is a great horsewoman with authority in the military, she would have been written to about the mauling of the horses. She is very interested and involved about everything, just like our beloved queen. Of course, after the horrible scenes of them going berserk in London that day a few months ago, something obviously had to be done to protect them. I've been told she watches your channel daily, John.😉 I love the horses silently saying, "Black Bollards!" just before change over.

      @heatherharvey3129 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@maryholder3795 Yes, there is a horse called Rommel in the Lifeguards and there was quite a bit of discussion in the comments under the video in which John identified the horse by his regimental number stamped on the hoof. The British forces (and I include the Australian troops who were part of the Rats of Tobruk) held him in respect because of his battlefield "etiquette" (for want of another word) towards British POWs, etc.

    "Anti-German Horse!" LOL I agree with you that the interaction is a big plus. It would do a lot to alleviate the "Disneyland" attitude of the visitors. That Gatesman seems to be, errr, a bit out of shape for an elite ceremonial guard unit. The back of his breastplate has a noticeable dent in it! I'm surprised the Coporal would allow this in his unit. I certainly wouldn't when I was on active duty. (Former Petty Officer 2nd Class USN) By the way, your conversation with that woman was very informative. Thank you.
