    Khamrah is a very nice fragrance. Recently purchased the flanker Khamrah Qahwa. They are almost identical in the dry down. Qahwa has a coffee note lurking in the background giving it more depth overall. It's like a dry roast not the expensive kind but adds an almost woody feel. It's sweet but not as sweet as Khamrah which I prefer. The amber feels slightly dialed back aswell. Both are fantastic for layering!!!
    My absolute fav is Nebras, brought a back up bottle which I never do😊

    KHAMRAH was £20 first, so it probably cost under £ 5 to make (including the bottle) . Because the hype now it is £ 40 or more...For that reason only I refuse to buy it for double of the original price

    Great video. I have Yara. I was curious. For $20+ this is an easy reach. I don't need to have crazy sillage and complexity to pick up groceries or do the laundry at home. I like it. I'm glad you found the other ones "good for the price." In general I don't buy dupes, but it is good to know that the perfumes you sampled stand on their own. They may harmonize with known fragrances, but they don't out right copy them. I'm okay with a brand using similar packaging for "clout." I don't think Qmrah is stealing. Rather, I think they are communicating to the customer that their approach is similar to a known brand without being a dupe.

    From Lattafa I own Masa (Ganymede-inspired, but sweeter with a mango note) and Ansaam Gold (Oriana/LDBS clone), for the money you pay they're pretty good and I feel like they're a good alternate way of testing a fragrance vs. buying samples/decants from people of the OG. Arabian frags are so much finanically safer to play the blind buy roulette with, too. 😂Niche brands make 'homages' of others (and designer) scents all the time, sometimes the same perfumer spreading it around, so I can't really hold that against Arabian perfumers too much. Much prefer it when they're an 'inspired by' scent instead of a pure clone, though, or when they're cloning a fragrance that's impossible to find/out of production.
    I do struggle with two things:
    1. most of these were not matured properly and often require them to be aired and them stored for anywhere from 2-8 weeks before they really show themselves fully. Often when people complain about the performance of their bottle vs. what other people report, it's down to this. Or the horrificly strong smell of alcohol, this too tends to fade.
    2. a lot of the bottle designs are horrible and gaudy (but this is such a culture and personal preference thing that I can't really complain about it too much). I do like it when they put some money into the design of the bottle and don't mind paying 10-20 euro extra for a bottle I would put at the front of my shelf, rather than shamefully hidden away in the back. Masa is a great example of this, the bottle looks like something a genie would come out of and I love it.
    It's lovely to see you covering some cheaper fragrances, Clémence, and your thoughts on them despite being so much more interested in niche artistry (for good reason, mind you!). The clone/homage space is really a big part of fragcom and it feels a lot more accessible than the niche space, while not being bogged down by the overly gendered marketing of designer fragrances. It would've been interesting to hear your thoughts on Ishq Al Shuyukh Gold. :) If you ever fancy trying other brands, I'd recommened Zimaya, Arabiyat Prestige, Fragrance World and Paris Corner.

    • @the.Aruarian
      @the.Aruarian 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@bbjonas4233 From my understanding you just spray it about 10-20 times and then let it sit for a while in a dark, cool container. Might be good to put it on it's side if that means there's a bigger surface area for the air inside the bottle to contact with.

    My first Lattafa is due to arrive tomorrow hahaha. I'm happy you made this video as I'm not too crazy about dupes, but I bought Oud for Glory. I wasn't thrilled by Oud for Greatness, particularly at that price, but I wonder if it works out as a $19 scent. Regardless, I want to try their more Arabic styles; as I'm sure it doesn't surprise you, Arabic perfumery is my favorite style 😅Thanks!

      Hope you're gonna enjoy it! Just make sure to give it some time to mature if you don't vibe with it at first - introduce some oxygen to the bottle and let it rest for a few weeks. They don't really take the time to let them sit during production unlike the bigger brands. I've had bottles go from underperforming, alcoholic messes to absolutely fantastic.

      God, good luck with that one. I'm curious which sort of fragrance profile would lift or add real interest and dimension to La Vie est Belle. Something sweet? Oud-based? Citrus? Vanilla floral? Fruity? I'd love to offer a few suggestions as it would be a real experiment (all skin chemistry is different and some mixes may turn and go weird but others are magic) but I don't know how you want to alter LVeB. Have you tried Aurum by Xerjoff? I reckon that could work really well. Strawberry smoke with a hint of chocolate!

    The Lattafa cheaper range have some awful bottles and the plastic cap on Khamrah I dislike but the fragrance is ok now and again, better than AS for me as I find Khamrah more feminine.

    I have tried many arabic perfumes in last 3 years. To my surprise nearly all of them are trying to be dupes or they are close or distant inspirations....of something more or much more expensive. What they all usually have is a good performance : projection and longevity. I don't mind spending under £30 for a very similar scent to a luxury brand (often a nice bottle too!) However, I don't recommend the copies of designer scents as they are half of price in Eastern Europe(£6-£8!) and not all very good...We are just being ripped off in the Uk!

Actually I'm happy someone saying it: it's tacky, that a nice way to put it, some bottles are awful🤣 and not all the arab perfumes are great, in general they are ok for the price, but there is so much hype about some, a little too much, I was disappointed with some perfumes👀
