  • After a sad 0-4 record at the first race of the season, I finally started building some momentum as win lights were shinning during some Friday night bracket racing at Firebird Raceway, Idaho. Some extremely tight racing, killer reaction times and 130MPH throttle whomps make for a great video. How many rounds can I make it in my supercharged small block Chevy powered 1971 Chevy Nova?!

    Looking good with the consistent times and the .008 reaction. Everything's coming together with the changes and the getting used to the changes. Good luck next weekend.

    Great racing! I finally put mine together and got to test it last Friday. Mine is a 6.2ls with a 250 tbs blower on methanol. It runs great with the slowest pulleys. It’s crazy how easy they make power.

      They’re so much fun! The easiest bolt on power adder I swear!

    Good day at the track. Glad the fuel switch has worked out well for you. I would suggest, the next time you go to a test n tune, maybe try making the runs with a little more water temp. Normally alchy based fuels like more heat in the motor (staging around 160* water temp) to be super consistent, but since you're also feeding it thru a blower, that may change that normal characteristic. But I think it would be worth a try at a test session.

      I agree! I think that had something to do with it picking up a bit on that last pass. It was freaking chilly that night (50 degrees with about 55% humidity and it was hard to get the water temp above 135-140 lol!

    Can run as fast as you want. Can only dial a 10.00 or slower. Was a good race! Nice light bud! "Tree'd" the sh*t out of me! Hope we can do it again sometime!

    Good job! Double break out! Wow that picked up that round, could be a quick turn around caused it to run quicker? I know mine does that to a point.

      I think so! I think it had to do with the engine having good heat in it on a chilly 50* night and also the head wind finally started to die down about that time!

    So I'm new to the whole drag racing thing after giving it up for 30 years. But I'm wondering couple things. I noticed that you'll always have to guide the car down. The lanes seems to be poles to the left. Is that because of the power of the of the rear?? Also nice reaction time. You accomplish that by going on the yellow

      The alignment of the car is slightly off is why I’m having to steer the car more than I should!

    Why don’t you spin the blower faster ?

    • @PLANBRACING
      @PLANBRACING  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I could definitely spin it faster and go faster with more boost but I’m mainly bracket racing the car, and a lot of times in multiple classes. I think I found a good combo of fuel (E85) and blower speed that doesn’t heat the blower up too much and I can run multiple classes back to back without the blower too hot and affecting my times!

    You need to straighten out the steering it drives me crazy lol

    • @PLANBRACING
      @PLANBRACING  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It does me too lol! The steering is actually fairly straight but the play I have in my steering wheel is ridiculous. Going to upgrade to a better steering shaft soon!
