Great video-very clear 👍 Loved the fact you are ‘training ‘ the next generation of home mechanic too-always cool to have a little helper 👍 I’m off to replace mine now to fix my leaking coolant……. Thanks 🙏
One thing that wasn't obvious to me from this or other guides, is when I was unable to press fit the new valve on by hand, due to the high amount of friction from the O-rings. However, gradually tightening the screws got it pressed in. No more leaks!
Best to buy an OEM brand bleeder valve from Porsche. I Used an aftermarket one once which cracked in half and left me stranded at the track! No fun. Spun out on my own coolant! 😱
I think I have older type coolant cap. If I keep what is the issue? I am suffering from hissing sound after coolant replacement.(water pump broken so coolant had leakage. after replacement water pump and coolant replaced..). Porsche dealer shop workde for that. but now I am suffering from hissing sound. I am wondering after change this cap hissing sound will be gone. or do I need to keep bleeder valve open(vertical position)??
hi i have problem with my porsche boxstrer 986 2002 every morning i need to up coolant is no leaking i think problem is with coolant tank when engine is hot coolant in tank is cold mey be you now whaits wrong?
Pull back the carpet around the tank and look for a leak. Have you cleaned between the air con condensers and the radiators? It is easy to remove the front bumper and do it. Crud gets stuck between them and can cause them to corrode and is often a spot for a leak. Basically it goes like this: 1. Make sure your rad cap is the current version. 2. Check the valve for leaks like mine. 3. Check coolant tank for leaks 4. Check water pump for leaks 5. Check radiators for leaks And 6. The worst one, get the engine tested for leaks which would be a head gasket and expensive. A shop will test the coolant for the presence of exhaust gas with a tester. Sam Crack had the problem on his TH-cam 911 997
@@frijus100 dirt, leaves, garbage. just stuff that is stuck there trapping water on metal. cleaning out between the radiators should be done once a year.

why did you replace bleeder valve??
It had coolant leaking around the edges
what is the root cause?
it seems related to this area.
please somebody can help me.
I asked dealer shop.
but they don't know
My cap was old and valve was leaking. Replace the tank too if it is the original. They just crack from age
Alway put the oil cap back on stops inadvertent risk of dropping contaminants in to the motor

It won’t hold pressure. It’s cheap to replace and only get a genuine one from Porsche! Bleeder valve is only for bleeding.
