It's hard to believe this video exist.. This was how my child self imagined the campaigns to be like. And to think you've surpassed that is incredible.
Al Kane this is beautiful. the way you put the thing together and made the world soo full of live. really capturing everything beautiful in the game. you made me drop a tear. thank you!
@@Anraheir did you have to use the biggest map size? and how distant were the background cities from the character? or did you make them smaller so you didn't need to put them that far? your video is simply amazing, thanks for sharing
@@Anraheir thanks for the answer. Very smart way of placing everything. Another thing, the New X Editor doesn't work with the Tale of the Dragon edition of AoM right?
AOM may not be the most remarkable RTS game of his time, but it has such a beautiful atmosphere and aesthetics. Also, this cinematic is a perfect example of what you could do with the editor if you were skilled and patient enough.
Thank you. I've been using the editor for many years now, and I still discover new things every once in a while - the cinematic possibilities in Age of Mythology are endless.
1000 subscribers! Thank you all for your support! I’m driving now towards wrapping up an upcoming Egyptian cinematic. After that, be in the look out for some shorter (but still cool) cinematics. I look forward to exploring the many aspects of the game, including civilizations, god powers, units, music, and themes. Be safe during the quarantine.
@@mynameisasecret3826 Hehe, funny you should mention it - I've finished design and audio. Currently wrapping up the title textures. Just have to record and edit. It should be done hopefully in a few days (depending on work). Thank you for your patience :)
This is amazing. It Captures the feel of the origin AOM campaign by following all those amazing locales and graphics, and those cheesy but effective special effects... nostalgia man, its helluva drug!
I don't know what caused the issue so I can't fix it.. apparently only mobile users experience audio problems. when I watch the video on my pc I have zero issues
Holy fucking shit this is insane. Never before other than that one other video of the editor have I seen such a creative use of the tools available... Holy fucking shit I am in complete awe.

This is fantastic man! One of the best cinematics made with Age of Mythology (and with a little Nordic humor!) I can't imagine all the effort and hours it took you to create such awesome locations. Cheers!
OMG HOW DID I NOT FIND THIS EARLIER??? Seriously though, seeing videos like this one brings me such internal joy. Thank you for your hard work and keep it up! :D
I have no words. By this video you slammed me into my childhood, when all was simple and fair [sniffs, drops nostalgic tears] P.S. Particular respect for a "true" landscape of Atlantean metropoly, the city of channels.
You did an awesome job in making this cinematic! Even though the game is quite old, I still want to try my hand on it and this was a major inspiration!
Absolutely stunning animation with one of the most amazing panoramas I have ever seen done in a game engine of that time! Bravo to you this was amazing!
Wow, another incredible cinematic! Just came from the second video. So cool and as many people have already said, excellent work. Again, really capturing the scale and feel of each civilization in an amazing way. Really like how you portrayed Atlantis, similar to how it is often portrayed as an aquatic island peninsula kind of thing surrounded by several rings. Keep up the great work!
This is what I call hard work. Making the cities so lively and I really like the way you used the titans. Just roaming around their mythologies! Keep it up! :)
This was really cool to watch! I've messed around in the cinematic editor before, and I know you can do some cool stuff with it, and this video is exactly the thing to show off just that! I really like the detail and work put into this; the only criticism is that it wasn't completely obvious to me that it was a Christmas tree he was looking for, but I'm not a Christian, and I'm also pretty unobservant, and I don't think AOM has any specially-decorated trees like that... all in all, though, super great work! was fun to watch
This has Hard work written on every single piece of it. It's Amazing! I envy your capabilities of Designing. Mostly on that Egyptian Scene, on the main road. Fantastic. Thanks for Sharing!
Yeah, I too have been flirting with that idea for a few years now. No doubt it'd be doable, but it would take much work. Despite the outdated graphics, the AOM editor can deliver some spectacular scenery (with persistence and attention to detail, of course).
This is the most incredible AOM cinematic that I have ever seen, and that includes the original ones that are a part of the game. And you did it without a single word, it's mind-blowing. You should be a dev for this game. You've really made it look like the world of AOM is lived in.

Age of Mythology Retold is coming September 4, 2024 to Xbox and PC :)
I can't even imagine how it would looks like with the new graphics
That greek villager has seen some shit
He sure has a whole bunch of experience to share when he's old.XD
Its what he does when you abandon him on the corner of the map
XAAXXAAXXAXAAXXA
That's how my grandpa traveled to his school
Don't forget the horse!
God damn they should have asked you to make the Chinese campaign this was a million times better than whatever shit they made.
I haven't played Tale of the Dragon, but honestly I think it needs some shaping up. The story cinematics have so much potential!

I signed it (though I recall signing another one a while ago). Was it just a matter of money? I heard they took lots of shortcuts during development.
It's hard to believe this video exist.. This was how my child self imagined the campaigns to be like. And to think you've surpassed that is incredible.
Legit, couldn’t put it into words better myself. This video sums up the entire campaign in my 12 year old brain
AOM needs a sequel. wee need more RTS games these days.
Theres a expansion that came out last year "tale of the dragon"
Daniel Martín N. Yes, there should be Hindu myths next
You guys should play Rise and Fall. It is one of the best RTSs ever made. (Ignore the critics!)
Jozinek or a persian one
Aztecs. Sacrifice your villagers for favor just sayin.
Thanks for the compliments, everyone! I'm glad you've enjoyed the cinematic.

Al Kane AMAZING
Al Kane I LOVED it, how long did it take you?
WOW those city shots are godamn amazing , makes me wish they had shots like that in the actual game haha
It's a bit tougher to do it in-game, what with lag and the visuals taking up so much space (unless the game map is loaded separately).

True i only liked it because of Mythology. Greek Myths are the best
at 3:30 the polar bear is also teleported here lol at left side of the screen
The polar bear was an allegory for the protection and favor of the gods! Or something.
