I bought a 2nd hand ef manual over a heavily reduced in price series 1 Au and loved it for how torquie (?) the motor was until the gremlins set in (tps and ecu) I was not very mechanical or techy at the time so it was a headache for me. I look back and love the look of that ef (gli) being slammed . But now find the AU so appealing. Again thanks for your content hit alot of chords for me 👍
Hi mate, you’ve described the differences between the AU & EF/EL very well. Always preferred the EF/EL look over the AU. The more sleeker EF/EL looking quad headlights do look better the bulbous looking AU headlights, which remind you of a telescope goldfish. I think the intech straight 6 is the only good thing going for it.
Ef xr6 seats are the most comfortable car seats ive ever had by a long shot. So good i kept them 10 years after i scrapped my last e series falcon in case i ever bought another. They were amazing.
I wonder if not having that extra vent for the radiator will impact cooling, also wondering how the hot side is gonna breath once you turbo. I know with the BA you can go under the light but with those little lights there doesnt seem to be much room, keen to see the build.
EF EL falcons have head gasket problems too my mum’s el had 2 in a year, my dad got it with a head gasket leak put a new engine in it happened again a year later, then he sent it straight to the wreckers because everything was breaking on it but I don’t hate them
Dude i paid 1400 for a ef 1996l5 red like this probably a little roucher paint and body then yours and not as cool as your front bumper but has a body kit newer btr transmission i got it with a stuffed alternator and starter rely but still manage to drive it an hour homr haha but the thing runs beautifully all i need is alternator and starter rely and im good to go
*I had an EB Falcon GLi and it was a complete lemon. The head was done 5 times and it had less than 16O,OOOkms on it.(when I eventually sold it) 3 cracked heads,2 gaskets. It must of been made on a late Friday afternoon or early on Monday morning. I would never own another EB Falcon EVER.*
LOL EF/EL better than AU? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 no. Ive had a EL. and im on my 6th AU. Because they are that good. Why are they that good? Because the head was redesigned from the EL to stop blowing head gaskets. Also the jim mock and bob krogdhal intech legends went on to design the barra.
@@anishchand4420 the LS engine is a really good conversion option, they are just like a high tech 351w and the Holden t56 lines up with the shifter hole

the ef already bottoms out with steering lock on the swaybar, at least mine did (rip archy) with stock wheels

EL is hands down the best shape ever. XRs look sharper, Fairmont Ghias are king and the GT is arguably the better looking of the 2 from the 90’s
Why not compare with XR model rather than futura AU also having 4 head lights.

An EF xr8 would be my dream car.
I also love the old school 5.0 Windsor Engines from the 90's and Early 2000's but they have no power. Love to see somebody do Coyote Swap in EF XR8.
